Story
Meet Sydney, a serene and affectionate Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Sydney is the definition of calm—nothing seems to faze her. She’s incredibly dog and cat friendly, and her low to medium energy level makes her a wonderful match for a peaceful home. Sydney is being fostered in a loving home in San Antonio, TX, where she gets along beautifully with her German Shepherd foster sister. Sydney walks beautifully on a leash and makes an excellent walking buddy for those who enjoy quiet neighborhood strolls. However, her true happy place is outside—she absolutely thrives in a yard where she can explore, relax, and enjoy nature. A home with outdoor space is a must for this sweet girl. Potty trained and polite, Sydney is well-mannered around the house. She's a little shy when meeting new people or visiting unfamiliar places, so she’ll need a patient and loving family willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you her soft, affectionate side and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Sydney is also a cozy cuddle buddy—she loves curling up next to you on the couch for some quiet bonding time. While she’s not a fan of car rides, Sydney is happy living the homebody life. She’s currently looking for a foster or adopter in Central Texas who can offer her the calm, consistent environment she deserves. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Sydney is ready to make your heart her home. To see more pictures and videos of Sydney copy and paste this link, you can apply directly for Sydney by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-550 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Story
Meet Shy, a beautiful 3-year-old German Shepherd looking for the right experienced home. She is deeply loyal, affectionate, and strongly bonded with our family. She has been wonderful with our toddler and thrives in a calm home environment with the people she knows and trusts. She is smart, sensitive, and loves being close to her people. She has always had a nervous temperament. Recently, she has started showing protective/fear-reactive behavior around unfamiliar people in the home. What initially began as barking and alert behavior escalated recently when she nipped at a house guest during an introduction. The incident did not result in serious injury, and it appeared to be fear/protective-based rather than unprovoked aggression, but it was enough for us to realize she needs a more experienced owner who can dedicate the time, structure, and consistency needed to help build her confidence. Please, if you have the time. She is really a devoted, loving dog.

Story
Scout is a 4-year-old German Shepherd/Lab mix with a loyal heart and a lot of potential in the right home. She’s great with adults, house-trained, and previously completed professional training—she knows commands like sit, come, and place and responds well with consistency. Scout would do best in an adult-only home (or with older teens) with someone experienced in handling higher-energy, anxious dogs. She thrives with structure, routine, and regular exercise. Since our baby has become more mobile, Scout has shown increased anxiety, and we want to find her a home where she can feel safe and set up for success. She has so much love to give and will make a deeply devoted companion in the right environment.

Story
Leggs is a resilient 32 pound, 10 month old pup working hard to become part of the world around him. While he’s naturally timid because he was feral the first three months of his life, he’s been bravely approaching new challenges and turned into the most amazing dog at home. Leggs is very intelligent and sensitive. He’s a bit cuddler and loves wrapping himself up in a blanket and hunkering down with his soft toys. He’s fantastic on a leash and incredibly gentle with myself, my children, and other dogs (including my super senior). He is crate trained, goes to the door when he needs to go potty, leash trained, and doing well on basic obedience and threshold training. He’s done well on trips to the park, long-leash walking on nature trails, and trips to pet-friendly stores such as Petco. His perfect home would be one that understands his initial need to decompress. After that, you can expect the most loyal and intuitive companion. He is not a fan of cats so no kitties please. Leggs is being fostered in Texas but can be transported out of state. You can apply directly for Leggs by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-835 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. Story
Maya is 6 years old. We adopted her from Austin Pets Alive in 2020 and she is a great dog. She loves to play outside, she’s very affectionate and sweet, and even gentle with kids. She was our "baby" but now that we’ve started having babies, we’re a bit overwhelmed. She really is wonderful with our 2 year old, but we don’t have a very big house or yard and we’re finding it hard to give her the stimulation and exercise that she needs. We would love to find a home that has space for her to run and an owner that will be able to walk her regularly. All in all she is a great, sweet, loving dog and we will be sad to see her go but happy that she has a home more suitable to her active nature.
