Story
Gandalf is one of our oldest seniors we have at PAWS, and our heart absolutely shatters thinking about him spending his twilight years in a kennel. While he spent the majority of his life in a home, due to personal issues within the family, he was brought back to us in August of 2025. Possibly one of the sweetest, most perfect dogs you have ever had the pleasure of meeting, Gandalf is gentle, intelligent, and housebroken. He can acclimate to almost any home and any environment, whether you have dogs, cats, or kids! He's usually staying with his very dedicated foster who could go on and on about how amazing Gandalf is! He loves treats, cuddling on the couch, and going on slow, easy walks. Interested in meeting Gandalf? Fill out an adoption application! This sweet boy deserves to retire into a home, a true forever home!

Story
Meet Sydney, a serene and affectionate Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Sydney is the definition of calm—nothing seems to faze her. She’s incredibly dog and cat friendly, and her low to medium energy level makes her a wonderful match for a peaceful home. Sydney is being fostered in a loving home in San Antonio, TX, where she gets along beautifully with her German Shepherd foster sister. Sydney walks beautifully on a leash and makes an excellent walking buddy for those who enjoy quiet neighborhood strolls. However, her true happy place is outside—she absolutely thrives in a yard where she can explore, relax, and enjoy nature. A home with outdoor space is a must for this sweet girl. Potty trained and polite, Sydney is well-mannered around the house. She's a little shy when meeting new people or visiting unfamiliar places, so she’ll need a patient and loving family willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you her soft, affectionate side and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Sydney is also a cozy cuddle buddy—she loves curling up next to you on the couch for some quiet bonding time. While she’s not a fan of car rides, Sydney is happy living the homebody life. She’s currently looking for a foster or adopter in Central Texas who can offer her the calm, consistent environment she deserves. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Sydney is ready to make your heart her home. To see more pictures and videos of Sydney copy and paste this link, you can apply directly for Sydney by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-550 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. This benefit includes free access to Petcademy's team of trainers/behaviorists, as well as access to online materials that will help you settle your new family member into your home. Story
Persephone (or Effie, as her foster mom endearingly calls her) is a very brave and cuddly girl. She loves to come up and ask for pets once she is comfortable with her human, and she is also very playful! Effie loves toys and zoomies in the back yard, and is extremely dog friendly. Chase is her absolute favorite game with her canine foster siblings! Effie had a rough start to life and understandably takes a while to warm up to humans. She will thrive in a low-traffic, kid-free household with a confident dog friend to help her see that she is safe and loved. Her human should be patient and kind, willing to give Effie the time and space she needs to settle in. If you're a gentle soul looking for a gentle pup to call your own, Effie is your girl.

Story
This handsome young gentleman is Loki. He is a funny, energetic boy who's still a puppy at heart. His floppy ears are just the cutest. He's everyone's instant best buddy and sometimes forgets how big he is. He'll never turn down a game of fetch or an opportunity to give you his big puppy eyes with his chin on your knee. Loki is crate trained and is incredibly smart. He is eager to please, and loves learning and meeting new people. Loki has has been through alot of stressful changes in a short time. We know that he was rehomed out of state and did not end up in the best of hands. He came to us as a lost and roaming stray. Looking for help, he found refuge in his current foster parents home. Initially, he was sneaking into their yard and hiding there at night. The concerned homeowners wanted to help him and started leaving food and water and gaining his trust. A smart guy, he sensed good people who would help him. Luckily they have been able to love and foster Loki and prepare him to find his foever home. Loki is now ready to begin this search and meet you! He would thrive with a young, active family, with a yard to run around in, lots of walks and games of fetch.

Story
Nikki is 3 years 3 months old and has a lot of energy and loves to go for walks. She is house broken and can use a grass pad if necessary. She thinks she's human and loves lots of attention. She's smart and does many tricks like sitting and catching a ball thrown to her, laying down and rolling over, shaking the left or right paw. She is cage, kennel, and car (good on long road trips) trained. She's AKC registered with breeding rights with multiple colors offspring, mother was white and father black. Nikki loves to play outside with or without a human companion. Nikki would thrive in a good size backyard. Nikki has been home trained and will perform commands readily when firm commands are given. She needs an alpha as she is inherently a pure bread GSD. Nikki vaccinations are up to date through Petco pet care, records on file.
