Meet Basil! Basil is a tall, young gentleman who has somehow already mastered the art of being completely unbothered. He carries himself with an almost comical level of confidence for someone who is still very much a puppy at heart. 😌 Basil is sweet, easygoing, and wonderfully tolerant, with a quiet confidence that makes him incredibly easy to be around. He’s happy to greet new people and will come right over for some affection, but he’s not particularly concerned with being the center of attention. Give him a little room to explore and he’ll happily wander around, take everything in, and eventually find a comfortable place to lounge while the rest of the world carries on around him. That calm attitude extends to his canine friends, too. Basil enjoys playing with other dogs and is always up for some fun, but he’s not a particularly rowdy player. He’s perfectly capable of joining the party without feeling the need to be the party. He’s also incredibly smart and picks up on training quickly, making him a wonderfully easy dog to work with. Every now and then, Basil does remember that he’s a puppy. This usually happens when a new person walks up and he decides the proper way to say hello is to casually bounce his very tall self upward for a greeting. 😂 It’s a funny little reminder that underneath all that composed, dignified energy is still a young dog who is excited to say hello. There’s something really special about Basil’s particular brand of chill. He’s affectionate without being demanding, playful without being wild, social without needing constant attention, and confident enough to simply take life as it comes. He’s the kind of dog who can quietly hang out beside you, wander off to investigate something interesting, or watch the household chaos unfold with the peaceful expression of someone who has already decided it will all work itself out. 💛

Story
My father recently passed away and Duke was his dog. We live out of state, do not have a fenced yard and we already have an indoor dog and cat. Duke truly is a fantastic dog. He is super friendly, smart, loving and always happy. He loves to play with balls and in the water. He is potty trained and will come lay at your feet. He does well on a leash. You can hug Duke and he doesn’t care if you are in his face, he will gently eat out of your hand. When you brush him there are no areas that are off limits, where he will snap at you. He is truly a happy go lucky dog. My dad had cancer so Duke hasn’t had the attention he deserves in the last 6 months. If you are remotely interested, just come and meet him and you will see everything I have said is true. He is not a barker unless something is in the yard that doesn’t belong. I will be willing to pay half the bill if you get him neutered.

Shelter intake date is set for 11/3/26. Very well mannered, no aggression shown. Gets along with dogs cats and people. Listens well, likes to snuggle, would be a great companion on hikes or running. He does bark initially when meeting new people or dogs but is accepting to new friends. He is u sure about people who approach him. He likes to take his time. Completely house trained and loves toys. He does fine on car rides, and has been homeless for the last few months, living in a van. I took him in temporarily to avoid a shelter but I can’t keep him and am desperate to find a home quickly. Falkon is 3.5 years old, male, neutered, half German shepherd and half unknown, 80 lbs. If there is any interest, we can do a meet and greet, no obligation. Located in Leander/Williamson county.
