Story
Meet Miss Lovie Some dogs want to be the center of attention. Miss Lovie would rather be your favorite sidekick and co-pilot. Are you a nervous person? Do you need extra personal space in public? Are you suspicious of oversized garden decorations? Then Miss Lovie might be the perfect dog for you! This loving, shy little lady needs someone who is patient and provides them with a little extra time & space before they're comfortable. Once Lovie is established in her home, she becomes a snuggle magnet who only wants to be with her person. She is friendly (and quite submissive) with every dog she meets and relaxed around cats. She loves anything to chew on: ropes and rubber toys are good, but tennis balls are a favorite. She walks great on the leash (please see: "extra space" addendum :P) and is developing skills with a kennel She's the kind of dog who's happiest tagging along—whether that's a trip to the dog park, a walk around the neighborhood, or anywhere she can splash in the water. If she spots a pond, creek, or kiddie pool, she's probably already planning her next swim. At just a year old and about 35 pounds, Miss Lovie is the perfect in-between size. Big enough to join you on adventures, but small enough to fit comfortably into just about any lifestyle. She can be a little unsure when meeting new people, but don't mistake that for a lack of interest. Give her a little time, let her come to you, and before long she'll be leaning against your leg asking for scratches and following you from room to room. Miss Lovie gets along well with other dogs and loves making new friends at the dog park. She's playful without being over the top, enjoys being outside, and is just as happy relaxing with her people when the day is done. She's spayed, vaccinated, and ready for a family that understands the best relationships aren't rushed—they're earned. If you're willing to give her a few days to settle in, you'll gain a best friend who is worth every minute of the wait. If that sounds like the kind of companion you've been looking for, Miss Lovie can't wait to meet you. Apply here: https://www.centraltexasruffugees.org/copy-of-foster

Story
Prince Erik is a tall, handsome pup with a warm tan coat, expressive eyes, and charming ears that seem to have a personality all their own. While he may have a royal name, this “prince” is all heart—he’s the kind of companion who prefers being close to his people over sitting on any throne. Erik rules his kingdom with kindness, greeting new friends with an easygoing, friendly spirit. He’s happiest when he’s sharing in the fun—whether that’s splashing around with a water hose, hopping in for a car ride adventure, or proudly showing off his “sit” for a well-earned treat. Curious and engaged, he likes to take in the world around him and be part of whatever you’re doing. He gets along well with other dogs and brings a social, approachable charm wherever he goes. Prince Erik is the kind of loyal companion who makes everyday moments feel a little brighter just by being there. If you’re ready to welcome a devoted “royal” who truly puts his people first, Prince Erik is ready to step into your world—come meet him and see if your kingdom is the one he’s been waiting for.

Friendly Faces Are His Favorite Iso is a friendly, active dog who looks like a German Shepherd and is new to our care. What stands out most about him is how much he enjoys people. The prior shelter shared that he was friendly and easy with humans, including being good with the person who found him loose. Iso is treat-motivated and happily takes treats, often sitting politely for them without being asked. He enjoys interaction and engagement, especially when snacks and attention are involved, which makes spending time with him both fun and rewarding. With his shepherd looks and people-loving personality, Iso is ready to find a foster or forever home where he can continue building confidence, learning, and sharing his friendly nature with the humans around him.

Story
Hi I'm Big Chief and I'd love for you to read what my foster wrote about me. When Big Chief first arrived in our home, he was absolutely terrified 💔. After spending years surviving as a stray, he believed the safest thing to do was stay hidden. He tucked himself away in a bedroom, only sneaking out when he truly had to. New people, unfamiliar noises, my husband, my son—everything felt scary to him. But that’s not who Big Chief is anymore 🌟🐾 Over time, we’ve had the privilege of watching this gentle soul slowly begin to trust the world again. Day by day, he’s started stepping out of the shadows and into family life. Now, he joins us around the house, seeks out affection, and enjoys simply being near the people he trusts 💕. Watching his confidence grow—one brave little step at a time—has been incredibly special. Big Chief absolutely thrives with other animals 🐶🐱. He lives beautifully with both dogs and cats and takes a lot of comfort from their presence. One of his favorite things in the world is walking alongside his canine foster brother, who has helped teach him how to relax and “just be a dog” 🌳🐕. Because of this, we truly believe he would do best in a home with another calm, friendly pet to help continue building his confidence. This handsome boy is: ✔️ Completely house-trained 🚽 ✔️ Low-energy and easygoing 💤 ✔️ Wonderful with dogs and cats 🐾 ✔️ Happy with a calm, predictable routine 🏡 Big Chief doesn’t need a busy or adventurous life—he just needs a safe and loving one 💛. He’s still a timid dog, but what makes him so remarkable is how hard he’s trying. Every new bit of trust, every quiet cuddle, every moment he chooses connection over fear feels deeply meaningful. He may not be the dog who runs into your arms on the first day. But Big Chief is the kind of dog who, with patience, kindness, and love, will slowly choose you—and that bond is truly priceless ✨. Even his appearance reflects his transformation: his once-neglected coat is growing back soft and golden, just like the warmth and safety he’s finally beginning to feel inside ☀️🐶. Big Chief is looking for a calm home, patient humans, and ideally a furry companion to help guide him as he continues learning that the world can be kind 💕

Bella is a wonderful dog and has been a part of our family for just over 6 years. Unfortunately, due to medical complications with one of our children, we are no longer able to provide her with the amount of attention and love that she deserves. She's very loving and enjoys walks/hikes and playing fetch and tug of war. She's very gentle with kids and is a natural protector.

Story
Meet Sydney, a serene and affectionate Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Sydney is the definition of calm—nothing seems to faze her. She’s incredibly dog and cat friendly, and her low to medium energy level makes her a wonderful match for a peaceful home. Sydney is being fostered in a loving home in San Antonio, TX, where she gets along beautifully with her German Shepherd foster sister. Sydney walks beautifully on a leash and makes an excellent walking buddy for those who enjoy quiet neighborhood strolls. However, her true happy place is outside—she absolutely thrives in a yard where she can explore, relax, and enjoy nature. A home with outdoor space is a must for this sweet girl. Potty trained and polite, Sydney is well-mannered around the house. She's a little shy when meeting new people or visiting unfamiliar places, so she’ll need a patient and loving family willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you her soft, affectionate side and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Sydney is also a cozy cuddle buddy—she loves curling up next to you on the couch for some quiet bonding time. While she’s not a fan of car rides, Sydney is happy living the homebody life. She’s currently looking for a foster or adopter in Central Texas who can offer her the calm, consistent environment she deserves. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Sydney is ready to make your heart her home. Shelter intake date is set for 11/3/26. Very well mannered, no aggression shown. Gets along with dogs cats and people. Listens well, likes to snuggle, would be a great companion on hikes or running. He does bark initially when meeting new people or dogs but is accepting to new friends. He is u sure about people who approach him. He likes to take his time. Completely house trained and loves toys. He does fine on car rides, and has been homeless for the last few months, living in a van. I took him in temporarily to avoid a shelter but I can’t keep him and am desperate to find a home quickly. Falkon is 3.5 years old, male, neutered, half German shepherd and half unknown, 80 lbs. If there is any interest, we can do a meet and greet, no obligation. Located in Leander/Williamson county.
