Story
Meet Sydney, a serene and affectionate Belgian Malinois Shepherd mix with a heart as gentle as her gaze. Sydney is the definition of calm—nothing seems to faze her. She’s incredibly dog and cat friendly, and her low to medium energy level makes her a wonderful match for a peaceful home. Sydney is being fostered in a loving home in San Antonio, TX, where she gets along beautifully with her German Shepherd foster sister. Sydney walks beautifully on a leash and makes an excellent walking buddy for those who enjoy quiet neighborhood strolls. However, her true happy place is outside—she absolutely thrives in a yard where she can explore, relax, and enjoy nature. A home with outdoor space is a must for this sweet girl. Potty trained and polite, Sydney is well-mannered around the house. She's a little shy when meeting new people or visiting unfamiliar places, so she’ll need a patient and loving family willing to give her time to settle in. Once she trusts you, she’ll show you her soft, affectionate side and soak up every bit of attention you're willing to give. Sydney is also a cozy cuddle buddy—she loves curling up next to you on the couch for some quiet bonding time. While she’s not a fan of car rides, Sydney is happy living the homebody life. She’s currently looking for a foster or adopter in Central Texas who can offer her the calm, consistent environment she deserves. If you're looking for a gentle, loyal companion, Sydney is ready to make your heart her home. To see more pictures and videos of Sydney copy and paste this link, you can apply directly for Sydney by clicking the Apply for Adoption button on the linked page. https://www.shelterluv.com/embed/animal/FODS-A-550 All our dogs come with 30 days of free post-adoption support through Petcademy.org. I am currently in a foster home and not at HSNBA, if you are interested in meeting me, please contact the nice folks at HSNBA so they can put you in contact with my foster family to set up a meet & greet. E-mail HSNBA at adoption@hsnba.org, call us at: (830) 629-5287 or stop by and speak with the folks at HSNBA at 3353 Morningside Dr. to get your information sent over to my foster home. My foster family is the best and can give you more information on me.I have tested heartworm positive. This means I have a parasite and need treatment. While my friends at HSNBA desperately want to help me, the shelter is too stressful an environment to undertake treatment and treatment itself is very expensive. The shelter has a few options to help with treatment, and if I steal your heart you should talk with them and your vet about what my treatment is like. Meet Marley! 🐶🖤🤎Marley is a beautiful black-and-brown German Shepherd/Terrier mix with a gentle soul and a quietly confident presence. At just over 7½ years old and around 50 pounds, she’s a medium-sized girl who balances calm independence with little bursts of playful energy ✨🐾. She can be shy and reserved at first, but once she’s comfortable, Marley settles into being a sweet, easygoing companion who enjoys sharing space with her people. This lovely lady knows some basic commands and listens well when corrected, showing just how thoughtful and tuned-in she can be 🦴👂. While Marley is generally calm and composed, she does have moments of energetic enthusiasm and may get a bit jumpy when she’s excited or engaged — just part of her charm! 💕🐕 With her gentle nature and steady temperament, she would thrive in a home that appreciates a dog who’s mostly relaxed but still enjoys the occasional spark of fun.If you’re looking for a loyal, loving dog who brings both peace and personality, Marley would love the chance to meet you 🏡💖 Come spend some time with her and see if she’s the perfect fit for your life.HSNBA lists all animals online from the moment of intake, and our listings are updated automatically every midnight. Cooper was surrendered to us on 4/4/2024.  Cooper is a great guy, super active, loves to play ball & run!   His owner has stage 4 cancer and could no longer care for him.  He is around 4 years old, and about 45 lbs.  He is kennell trained and house trained.  He does well with kids, Not OK with cats and has shown some toy and food aggresion towards some dogs.  Cooper will do best in a family where he is the only dog.  He is neutered and UTD on his shots.   https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/57447/generic ##2012210##

Story
Hank is a Belgian Malinois mix, approximately 2–3 years old per our vet. He was abandoned by a neighbor and frequently left locked up, leading to repeated escapes. To keep him safe, we temporarily took him in and are now trying to find him a stable, permanent home or rescue placement. Hank is up to date on Rabies and DHPP vaccines and is not yet neutered scheduled this week Temperament & personality: Very social and does great with other dogs Chases cats but has not shown intent to harm them Loves toys, rawhides, car rides, attention, and cuddles Very vocal and expressive — he loves to “talk” Learns quickly and knows basic commands Walks well on a leash Behavior notes: Not comfortable in enclosed spaces (likely tied to his past confinement) Has some separation anxiety but has already shown noticeable improvement with routine and reassurance Bond-oriented and protective of his people in a loyal, Malinois-typical way — he thrives with structure, clear boundaries, and being part of a consistent pack Hank would do best with an experienced, active home that understands working breeds and can continue building his confidence and training. He has so much potential and genuinely wants to belong. We are happy to provide photos, videos, vet records, or answer any questions. Thank you so much for taking the time to read and for everything you do to help dogs like Hank.
