Story
Meet Raellynn! She was brought to our shelter as a stray, so we do not know much about her past. She is timid with strangers, but opens up quickly with respectful people, especially if there are treats involved. As Raellynn has opened up with us, we've found that she is such a sweetie and loves attention. She will do anything for a treat. She knows sit and would love to learn some more tricks with her forever family.Raellynn will need a home that has no children and a home that does not have frequent visitors. She is frightened by new people as well as a lot of noise and movement. She would need a meet and greet with another dog since she can be selective. She is spayed and microchipped and waiting to steal your heart!Raellynn has been with us for more then 6 months so we have placed her on our lonely hearts board. Her adoption fee is $20 Primary Color: Black Secondary Color: Brown Weight: 52.5 Age: 2yrs 6mths 1wks

Story
Meet Mercy, our lovable 7-month-old German Shepherd pup! Mercy is a beautiful girl who is both house and crate-trained, making her the paw-fect addition to any loving home. She's a social butterfly who gets along well with other animals, although she may be a bit too enthusiastic when playing with teeny pups or kitties. However, with some guidance, she'll do just fine with large-dog-savvy companions At her foster's house, Mercy has proven to be a well-behaved pup around horses, goats, and cows—showing her adaptable and gentle nature. She's incredibly sweet and eager to please, melting hearts with her affectionate demeanor. Mercy thrives on human companionship but also relishes in the company of other dogs, making her the paw-fect furry friend for people and pups alike. As a youngster, Mercy requires plenty of attention and training, but she's eager to learn and impress her humans. With continued positive reinforcement training, she'll quickly master her leash manners and become a perfect companion. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this adorable and spirited pup, Mercy is waiting to steal your heart! Apply to adopt her today at greendogsunleashed.org/adopt! #AdoptMercy #GermanShepherd #PuppyLove At the time you are seeing this post, this dog is still available for adoption. But please know that we may be working on multiple applications already, and any one of them could be approved at any time. Please READ THIS ENTIRE DESCRIPTION and complete an adoption application, if you are interested in any of our animals. Application at www.greendogsunleashed.org If you send an inquiry to ask if the dog is still available, or just tell us you are interested, your inquiry will not be answered. FILL OUT AN APPLICATION. We can do NOTHING without that. No, we cannot tell you if he would be a match for your family without seeing an application. PLEASE KEEP READING for info. */*/* PLEASE NOTE: The first communication you will receive after completing an application will be an email response, which will have instructions on how to proceed. Please check your inbox AND spam folders for the next 48 hours, for this email. We will not begin processing an application without the information requested in that email. */*/* We are happy to consider applicants from out of state on most dogs. Please read the description to see if this dog is an exception. If the applicant is approved to adopt, they MUST be willing to come to our location in Troy, VA, for a meet and greet. If all parties agree that the pup and family are a good fit, they would take the pup home at that time. For more information about our mission and for an APPLICATION for adoption, please go to www.greendogsunleashed.com. GDU does ask a minimum adoption fee of $400.00. This does not even come close to covering all expenses created by animals while in rescue. We are funded solely by the angels and volunteers willing to donate time and finances. This minimum fee includes DAPP, rabies if age appropriate,, heartworm test and preventative, if age appropriate, and flea and tick treatment, as well as neutering or spaying, if the animal is medically sound to undergo surgery. In an attempt to avoid tummy upset from a sudden change of food, the foster family may include a small, transitional bag of the food the dog/puppy has been eating. And if the dog/puppy has grown attached to a special item (like a toy or blanket), they may send that along, as well. */*/* Young puppies will receive age-appropriate vaccines, and will be spayed/neutered prior to adoption. Adopters may be required to provide additional puppy boosters and at 16 weeks of age, a rabies vaccine. Future annual vaccines, testing and monthly heartworm preventative are REQUIRED, and will be the financial responsibility of the adopter. *****Due to the sheer number of animals and applications in our program, coupled with a limited number of volunteers, applicants MUST have patience as we process applications.   If you do not hear back from us, the animal may have been adopted.   We strive to let people know but sadly cannot offer reasons for denial beyond that.  Any harassment of our volunteers will go unanswered and we will simply block you.   Our volunteers spend their time working hard to ensure the very best for each animal.   Please remember the animal, not the applicant, is our client.*****  ##2015373##

Meet Electra,A concerned citizen found Electra looking for food and water and brought her to our shelter as a stray. She already knows the commands "sit" and "stay" and is such a sweet, beautiful girl. She is a little nervous around the barking dogs in the shelter, but she does not react when passing the other kennels. Due to her size, we would not recommend her going to a home with young children. If you have your own dogs, we could have a meet and greet at the shelter. She is spayed, microchipped, and up to date on her vaccines and just waiting for you! Story
Max is my parents dog. My father passed away and my mother is too ill to care for Max. He loves people and playing fetch. He is good on a leash. He loves being brushed. He really is a sweet dog and loves going on walks and hanging out with humans. He truly has no bad habits (chewing, accidents, no excessive barking, etc.) He is about 4 years old and has good energy and still has many of his playful puppy like ways He is current on all shots. He really is a great dog and it kills me to give him up. Please help as I cannot continue to care for him due to my living/work situation.

Story
Hi there, I'm Mrs. Baked Beans, and while my past may be a bit fuzzy, my future is crystal clear - I'm ready to find my forever home! As a 1-3-year-old spayed female of mixed heritage (German Shepherd/Australian Cattle Dog/Husky/Australian Kelpie, they say), I've got a unique blend of traits that make me one-of-a-kind. I may have arrived at the shelter dragging a tie-out, but don't let that fool you - beneath my initial nerves lies a heart full of love waiting to be shared. I'm a bit cautious at first, taking my time to warm up to new faces, but once I've made a connection, I'm fiercely loyal. I thrive in a calm and quiet environment where I can be the center of attention, which is why I'd prefer a home without other pets or children, but don't let my reserved nature fool you - I'm house-trained, excellent on leash, and have never met a chew toy I couldn't resist. With my low energy and keen sense of awareness, I'm the perfect companion for someone seeking a loyal friend and a reliable guard dog for a single adult needing a BFF. So, if you're ready to welcome a devoted canine companion into your life, look no further than Mrs. Baked Beans - your new best friend awaits! My adoption fee is $175, which covers all of my vetting. If you would like more information on me, please give SVASC a call at (540) 943-5142, email SVASC at ewiles@co.augusta.va.us, or stop by during open hours and ask for Mrs. Baked Beans!
