Story
I rescued Charlie and Willow from a hoarder house in Vegas when they were 6 months old. They are 9 years old now and they are the sweetest most loving dogs ever. This is the hardest thing I will have ever had to do but due to my health, I can’t care for them anymore. They are truly loved by anyone they’ve ever met. They’re always the favorite dogs at any boarding I’ve ever had to take them. I am looking for someone who will treat them like their children.

PJ is currently in a foster home while she waits for her forever home. Please email PRAS-FOSTER@NNVA.GOV to learn more about her or schedule a meet-and-greet.Hi, I’m Harvey — but my friends call me PJ Harvey!I’m a 1-year-old Shepherd mix with a lot of love and personality to share. I can be a little kennel shy at first, but once I’m out and comfortable, I’m extremely friendly, affectionate, and fun to be around.I’m currently living in a foster home while I wait for my forever family, and I’ve been doing really well there. I can be fearful with strangers initially, but once I warm up, I’m very loving and bond closely with my people.I was previously adopted, but returned after I accidentally scratched a young child during a play session. Because of this, PRAS would love to find me a home that understands my playful energy and can continue helping me build confidence.Think you might be the right fit for me? Ask the front desk about me!

Story
Meet Zoey! Zoey is a 4-month-old German Shepherd puppy with a bright future ahead of her. This smart, energetic girl is looking for a home with German Shepherd experience that can help her grow into the incredible dog she`s destined to become.Zoey`s life didn`t start out easy. She was found scavenging for food in a dumpster and covered in feces, clearly having been left to fend for herself. Not long after arriving in our care, she experienced some tummy troubles—likely from her dumpster-diving days—but she`s feeling much better now and is ready to start her next chapter.Since coming to the shelter, Zoey has spent time in foster homes where she has learned a great deal about living with both people and other animals. She previously lived with a young child and did well in the home environment. In a foster home with other dogs, Zoey was initially fearful and unsure, but once she settled in, her playful puppy personality emerged and she was all zoomies and fun!Because of her rough start, Zoey has shown some resource-guarding behaviors around other pets, particularly with food and high-value items. This is likely tied to her history of not having reliable access to food while she was growing up. Her future family will need to be committed to continued training and management to help her build confidence and develop healthy habits around resources. As a typical German Shepherd puppy, Zoey is intelligent, active, and eager to learn. She will thrive with a family that is prepared to invest time in training, socialization, and structure. She`s already proven how adaptable and resilient she can be, and with the right guidance, she has the potential to become an amazing companion.Zoey is partially housebroken and making progress every day. She`ll need patience and consistency as she continues learning the ropes of home life.If you`re familiar with the German Shepherd breed and looking for a loyal, clever puppy to grow with, Zoey may be the perfect addition to your family. Come meet her and see just how far this remarkable girl has come.
