Sweet, "Velcro" GSP Mix Puppy - 10mo (Crate Trained!) Location Update: Temporarily fostered in Santa Clarita (Canyon Country) while we help family recover from surgery. Meet Misty! At 10 months old (~60lbs), she is the "Love Bug" of the litter. While her brother is a goofball, Misty is a sensitive soul who wants to be your shadow. Why She Wins: Crate Trained: Sleeps quietly through the night. A huge plus for a puppy! Dog Friendly: She takes confidence from other dogs and plays well. She would love a confident canine sibling. Affectionate: Once she trusts you, she bonds deeply. She is the definition of a "Velcro Dog." What to Know: Confidence: She can be skittish on the leash and shy at first. She needs a patient leader to show her the world is safe. Stats: Spayed, Vaccinated, Chipped. Untested w/ kids or cats. Don't Wait! We are only in Santa Clarita temporarily. Come meet this sweet girl while she is local! Apply to meet Misty today!

Story
Meet Atlas – Your Ultimate Toy-Loving Athlete! Atlas is a striking 5-year-old Labrador x German Shorthaired Pointer with both brains and brawn, standing tall at 28” and weighing in at 85 lbs. He’s had a few real-world training jobs, but now he’s ready to channel his talents into life as a fun, active companion. This big guy lives for toys—his drive is off the charts—and he brings all the enthusiasm in the world to playtime. He’s also well-trained, with an impressive resume of obedience skills, hand signals, whistles, and more. Add in that he’s housebroken, crate trained, dog door savvy, and fully vetted with clear hips and elbows, and you’ve got a rock-solid partner for all of life’s adventures. Atlas is social with dogs big and small, though his pushy, toy-driven style means he thrives best with playmates who can keep up with his energy. He’s already proven himself in dock diving (and is really, really good at it!) and would shine in Nosework, hiking, or just about any outlet for his athleticism and zest for life. Whether you’re looking for a sport dog, a trail buddy, or simply a larger-than-life companion with endless love for toys and adventure, Atlas is ready to leap into his forever home. Story
Meet Heineken! A lively seven-and-a-half-year-old Pointer mix currently living in Three Rivers, OR, whose zest for life is as strong as his love for a good trail run and a sunny nap. With his mostly white coat and athletic 65-pound frame, he’s a striking sight on the trail—and a loyal companion through every season of adventure and rest! Heineken is a trail-blazing athlete at heart. Long-distance runs? No problem! Lake fetch? Count him in! He’s the kind of dog who thrives on outdoor activity and brings unfiltered joy to every hike, run, and splash session. But he’s not all go-go-go—this guy knows how to chill. After a good workout, he’ll happily stretch out in a sunny patch of grass or curl up fireside, satisfied and calm. Trained in all the basics—sit, stay, come, leave it, lay down, “kennel up”—Heineken is incredibly responsive to clear direction and structure. He’s crate trained, house-trained, and comfortable being left alone for stretches of the day. But like many sensitive souls, he has his quirks. Heineken does best in a calm, predictable environment and has shown that the hustle and bustle of young children isn’t his scene. He becomes anxious around infants and toddlers, especially when there’s crying or sudden movement. In one instance, he snapped at a baby during a stressful moment—he didn’t cause harm, but it was enough to show that a kid-free home or one with older, dog-savvy children (age 10+) would suit him far better. He’s also selective with other dogs, especially off-leash. While he can be friendly and playful with the right match—typically females or mellow males—he can become territorial or threatened around unfamiliar dogs, and he tends to react strongly to huskies in particular. Positive introductions and controlled environments are key to his success. Loud vehicles like motorcycles can startle him, and he may bark or lunge out of nervous energy. He’s on a low dose of vet-prescribed Fluoxetine, which has helped ease some of that reactivity, alongside the natural maturity that comes with age. Heineken is looking for a home that embraces his active lifestyle and respects his sensitivities. Could your home be his next great chapter? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and see if Heineken’s trail-ready heart belongs by your side!

Story
Baby Banjo is wondering why all the other puppies were adopted but him? He's just a sweet and as cute as the whole litter he came from, but for some reason he didn't get the luck the others found. This adorable little boy has been through a lot and is still the sweetest little soul, he gets very nervous around loud sounds and crazy activity. He just wants to please people and be loved....and play...and go for walks and hikes! He LOVES to play w/the other dogs in his foster home, so much so that we are making it a requirement that he goes to a home w/a playful dog for him. He plays excellent with dogs smaller than him, man can he move! He hasn't had much experience w/dogs bigger except one that he grew up with. His life has been full of sorrow (saved from a hoarder house to be put in outside kennels the first part of his life) and he's SO ready to find a loving home that helps him learn that everything is going to be okay. He would do best in a calm home that has a yard and another dog for him to play with. He loves to go for walks and hikes, but would not like to go to the dog park. A single adult or couple with a chill lifestyle, not a lot of activity (he's used to a lot of dogs) If a home has children, it would be best of they are older as he gets startled easily. He doesn't have a mean bone in his body, he loves to curl up on the couch or in his crate. He is bonded with another dog in the foster home that he's been with his whole life. We are requesting anyone interested in adopting him have a playful dog for him to play with in their yard or someone that can adopt both Banjo and Cowboy. If you are the person Banjo has been dreaming of, please contact us today for an adoption application!

Story
Cowboy is the most handsome boy and he's still waiting to find a forever home. We can't understand why he's not been scooped up yet! He's a sweet, funny, good boy that loves to just chill inside his crate or outside in the sun or on a dog bed in the shade. He walks well on leash, loves other dogs and people, is crate trained, potty trained and is an all around GOOD BOYI! He came from a horrible hoarder situation and spent many months in an outside kennel and we would love for him to know what it's like to be spoiled and loved in a REAL home! He would love to have another dog in the house if you have a dog that would like the company of another dog, he will run a few laps in play, but mostly just likes to relax. He does get scared at outside festivals where there is loud music and a lot of activity, so a calm home (he doesn't like raised voices, it scares him) and social schedule would be ideal. He is bonded with another dog in the foster home that he's been with for about 2 years. We are requesting anyone interested in adopting him have a balanced companion dog for him or someone that can adopt both Banjo and Cowboy. If you think Cowboy is the dog for you, please contact us for an application, we show dogs in West Hollywood on approved applications.
