Story
Ricotta is a 9-year-old German Shorthair Pointer mix who is currently with her original family, but who now needs a new home. The small children in our household tend to make her tense and nervous, and this is not the best life for her or for our kids. Ricotta is spayed, weighs between 30-35 lbs, and is an energetic girl. She loves being outdoors where she can sniff, explore, go on walks, and interact with her person. She loves one-on-one attention, so she would do well as an only dog. And no kids, please. It is difficult for us to make this decision, but we feel it is in Ricotta’s best interests. We have tried working with a trainer as well as other options, but we feel we have exhausted all avenues and that Ricotta would live her best life in an adult-only home where she is the only dog who can thrive on the love and attention lavished on her. Ricotta currently lives in in south Orange County, but we are happy to meet a potential adopter in San Diego or midway for a meet and greet. We are asking a nominal fee for her adoption of $100, and if you would like to meet her or learn more about her habits, email Michael at michaelvmao@gmail.com.

Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Needs experienced adopter, House-trained, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Story
Mira is a 6 year old German shorthaired pointer. She has prey instinct and will not do well with birds, reptiles, cats etc. Ellie is a 5 year old golden retriever. We got both dogs at 8 weeks old and raised them in a loving home around other dogs and kids. They are house trained and crate trained. They are very active, social, loving, playful, friendly dogs. They absolutely love to swim and their favorite place to play is the dog beach. They are bonded best friends and Ellie has separation anxiety from Mira and does not do well a part from her. They need an active household who will enjoy taking them for runs, playing at the beach and snuggling on the couch after a long day of play. Older children, maybe 7+ would be great playmates for them. These are high energy dogs. Mira is more athletic and independent but Ellie will occasionally chew things when left idle for too long. They are seriously the sweetest pair and they deserve an active, fun loving home!

Story
Boone is an incredible dog. He’s loyal, intelligent, athletic, and deeply devoted to his people. He thrives when he has structure, purpose, and one-on-one attention. In the right environment, he will be someone’s absolute best friend. Boone would do best in a home that: Has experience with high-energy, working breeds, Lives an active lifestyle (running, hiking, hunting, or lots of outdoor time), Can give him consistent attention, training, and engagement and Does not have SMALL children. While Boone has been part of our family, we’ve seen that as our young kids have grown and our home has become busier, he has become increasingly overwhelmed. We move every 2-3 years (military) and this last move proved to be too much for him. It was his 3rd move in his 5 years. He deserves a calmer environment where he can truly thrive and feel at ease. Our priority is finding Boone a home where he will be understood, exercised, and appreciated for the amazing dog he is.
