Story
Ricotta is a 9-year-old German Shorthair Pointer mix who is currently with her original family, but who now needs a new home. The small children in our household tend to make her tense and nervous, and this is not the best life for her or for our kids. Ricotta is spayed, weighs between 30-35 lbs, and is an energetic girl. She loves being outdoors where she can sniff, explore, go on walks, and interact with her person. She loves one-on-one attention, so she would do well as an only dog. And no kids, please. It is difficult for us to make this decision, but we feel it is in Ricotta’s best interests. We have tried working with a trainer as well as other options, but we feel we have exhausted all avenues and that Ricotta would live her best life in an adult-only home where she is the only dog who can thrive on the love and attention lavished on her. Ricotta currently lives in in south Orange County, but we are happy to meet a potential adopter in San Diego or midway for a meet and greet. We are asking a nominal fee for her adoption of $100, and if you would like to meet her or learn more about her habits, email Michael at michaelvmao@gmail.com.

Story
Boone is an incredible dog. He’s loyal, intelligent, athletic, and deeply devoted to his people. He thrives when he has structure, purpose, and one-on-one attention. In the right environment, he will be someone’s absolute best friend. Boone would do best in a home that: Has experience with high-energy, working breeds, Lives an active lifestyle (running, hiking, hunting, or lots of outdoor time), Can give him consistent attention, training, and engagement and Does not have SMALL children. While Boone has been part of our family, we’ve seen that as our young kids have grown and our home has become busier, he has become increasingly overwhelmed. We move every 2-3 years (military) and this last move proved to be too much for him. It was his 3rd move in his 5 years. He deserves a calmer environment where he can truly thrive and feel at ease. Our priority is finding Boone a home where he will be understood, exercised, and appreciated for the amazing dog he is.

Story
We found Buster on the street last December, emaciated and sick. While looking for his original family, we rehabilitated him and found out that he has stage 3 kidney failure. No family reached out so we got him vaccinated and neutered, and wanted to let him retire with us since he wouldn’t live long. — We are moving now and cannot keep him due to housing restrictions. He is doing well, kidney levels are stable and he is on no prescriptions. We want to him to retire happy, not in a cage. He is a really energetic boy, and loves being with other dogs and people. He is crate-trained and potty-trained. — We are looking for a foster, rescue placement program, or adopter who can give this handsome ~11 month old Pointer Mix a safe home. Please repost, share, or comment/tag any resources you know of.

Story
Suds is the definition of resilient beauty. His sleek black and white coat and intelligent, soulful brown eyes turn heads everywhere he goes. He truly looks majestic. But the real magic is on the inside: this boy has the gentlest, most humble spirit you will ever meet. He is wonderful with children, adults, and other dogs, always greeting everyone with a soft tail wag and a sweet lean. He is a soulful and loving boy who lights up on hikes and adventures, yet the moment the day winds down he becomes the worlds best cuddle bug, happily curling up next to you like he has always belonged there. Suds is affectionate, eager to please, and has that perfect blend of energy and calm that makes him an ideal companion for almost any home. After everything he has been through, he deserves the world and all he wants in return is a family to love him forever. Suds is fully healthy, neutered, vaccinated, and ready to steal your heart (and probably a few treats). Could you be his happy ending? ?
