Story
Ricotta is a 9-year-old German Shorthair Pointer mix who is currently with her original family, but who now needs a new home. The small children in our household tend to make her tense and nervous, and this is not the best life for her or for our kids. Ricotta is spayed, weighs between 30-35 lbs, and is an energetic girl. She loves being outdoors where she can sniff, explore, go on walks, and interact with her person. She loves one-on-one attention, so she would do well as an only dog. And no kids, please. It is difficult for us to make this decision, but we feel it is in Ricotta’s best interests. We have tried working with a trainer as well as other options, but we feel we have exhausted all avenues and that Ricotta would live her best life in an adult-only home where she is the only dog who can thrive on the love and attention lavished on her. Ricotta currently lives in in south Orange County, but we are happy to meet a potential adopter in San Diego or midway for a meet and greet. We are asking a nominal fee for her adoption of $100, and if you would like to meet her or learn more about her habits, email Michael at michaelvmao@gmail.com.

Story
• I am fostering him in San Clemente for Riverside County, but I cannot keep him because my little senior (very jealous) dog will not accept him. If I didn't have my little senior, I would adopt Max in a second - he is a wonderful dog!• Max was found as a stray in Riverside: no collar, no microchip, not neutered. The Shelter named him Max. Will be neutered on May 21st. Has had his vaccinations and is microchipped now. Estimated to be about 3 yrs old.• Very sweet disposition, affectionate, super soft coat, friendly & good w/kids, non-reactive with other dogs.• Housetrained.• Pretty good on leash (pulls a bit at first); great on car rides.• Crate trained and sleeps through the night.• Great walking, running, or hiking partner and cuddler.• He would need a good introduction to any cat in the home, as he is part Pointer, and they have a pretty strong prey drive.• Adoption would be directly through the Riverside Shelter, which can be done via email. • Please contact me for a meet and greet.

Story
Boone is an incredible dog. He’s loyal, intelligent, athletic, and deeply devoted to his people. He thrives when he has structure, purpose, and one-on-one attention. In the right environment, he will be someone’s absolute best friend. Boone would do best in a home that: Has experience with high-energy, working breeds, Lives an active lifestyle (running, hiking, hunting, or lots of outdoor time), Can give him consistent attention, training, and engagement and Does not have SMALL children. While Boone has been part of our family, we’ve seen that as our young kids have grown and our home has become busier, he has become increasingly overwhelmed. We move every 2-3 years (military) and this last move proved to be too much for him. It was his 3rd move in his 5 years. He deserves a calmer environment where he can truly thrive and feel at ease. Our priority is finding Boone a home where he will be understood, exercised, and appreciated for the amazing dog he is.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Handsome gentleman Bruno has run into some bad luck again!  He initially became a Cause kid when his owner had to move and could not take their dogs. Luckily he found a loving home and lived a good life for several years. Tragedy struck this poor guy again when his loving human passed away and he came back to Cause for SB Paws. He settled into his new foster home and is now ready to try his luck again. Could you be his forever family? Chocolate German Shorthair Bruno is 11 yrs old and full of boundless energy. He definitely needs a home familiar with the breed or similar breeds. The GSP is known to be '...very athletic, have boundless energy and need to burn it while spending time outdoors. All activities are good: running, walking, swimming, toys retrieving etc. Never forget that even if you are not a hunter, this breed is designed for hunting, and it’s really perfect at it. At the same time they are wonderful family dogs and very protective of a family. They perfectly get on with other animals, get along with people. Great for children.'So an active family is an absolute must, as well as a big yard to run, and other energetic, large breed dogs with which to romp and run and play.See his page here: http://www.causeforsbpaws.org/animals/browse  Apply here: http://www.causeforsbpaws.org/forms/form?formid=3251   Email cause4sbpaws@gmail.com with questions.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.March 8, 2026, 12:18 am
