Story
Ricotta is a 9-year-old German Shorthair Pointer mix who is currently with her original family, but who now needs a new home. The small children in our household tend to make her tense and nervous, and this is not the best life for her or for our kids. Ricotta is spayed, weighs between 30-35 lbs, and is an energetic girl. She loves being outdoors where she can sniff, explore, go on walks, and interact with her person. She loves one-on-one attention, so she would do well as an only dog. And no kids, please. It is difficult for us to make this decision, but we feel it is in Ricotta’s best interests. We have tried working with a trainer as well as other options, but we feel we have exhausted all avenues and that Ricotta would live her best life in an adult-only home where she is the only dog who can thrive on the love and attention lavished on her. Ricotta currently lives in in south Orange County, but we are happy to meet a potential adopter in San Diego or midway for a meet and greet. We are asking a nominal fee for her adoption of $100, and if you would like to meet her or learn more about her habits, email Michael at michaelvmao@gmail.com.

Snipes is 6 years old and weighs 53 lbs. He is good with other dogs and good around people. He is friendly, active, playful and outgoing. Snipes was adopted from BAS in 2021 and returned in 2026.  He developed glaucoma in one of his eyes and the eye had to be removed. His owner retuned him because he started working long hours and didn’t feel like he could give Snipes the time and attention he deserved. He had the eye surgery on 2/16/26 and is doing great! He has slight separation anxiety so he would do best in a home with another dog or dogs.
