Meet Amigo, a handsome 1-2 year old neutered male pointer/hound mix, weighing about 60 lbs. Amigo is an awesome boy who is sweet, friendly, and well mannered! He is good with other dogs, people, and kids (not cat tested, so we are unsure how he would do with cats). He walks well on leash, is crate trained, and housebroken. A 100% good doggo!  Amigo can't wait to find his furever home! Could it be you?!   ##2042203##

Story
Arrow is now at his ideal weight, looking handsome and athletic with a shiny, healthy coat. He’s gained a lot of confidence in his place in the pack and enjoys wrestling with his Weim foster brother. Arrow is a German Shorthaired Pointer and he’s about 2 years old and 60 pounds. Arrow is a large, athletic dog. His long legs give him natural running ability, and with continued practice he will make an amazing running buddy. He regularly does 8-12 milers with us, and does need a few reminders to stay focused but it’s steadily improving. He also loves walks - we do two kinds of walks. One we call “sniff walks” on a long lead where Arrow can follow his nose. The other is just about exercise business and he walks really effectively on a half hitch to curtail the pulling. Arrow needs these outlets - both mental and physical - to be his best self. Arrow is doing well on sit and getting better at come. We are also working on “place”, which we think is important to peace at the dinner table, as Arrows head is effectively table level. He’s completely house trained and crate trained. He’s a handsome athlete and will be successful with a family who can commit to giving him the physical and mental outlets GSPs need to be good dogs. After seeing him settle in, I’d be comfortable with him going to families with other dogs (male and female) with patient adjustment time and the understanding that this boy is a giant puppy, who loves big and plays big.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as 'Out of Town' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.May 5, 2024, 9:08 pm

Story
This is Cooper. He and his sweet sister, Katie have been tossed around from rescue to rescue and living in kennels for over a year! First springer rescue got them and left them in a kennel for months before deciding they weren't springers and then someone else stepped up but they stayed in a kennel again. We have had them now and are working with them. They are so sweet and happy! Cooper walks well on a leash and is pretty close to house trained. He is neutered, UTD on all vaccines and is HW neg. We are so desperate to find these babies a loving home to live out their lives in that we are cutting the adoption fee in half but they must stay together. Please consider them! You will not regret it. Please email omlc7@hotmail.com and we will send our info and application. They are used to being outside alot so a fenced yard is a requirement.

Story
My name is Maisie Joy. A kind lady found me outside in her yard one day. This lady had another dog though that didn’t want to be my friend. So I ended up at the shelter. Man is it scary there. Thankfully my foster parents found me and are letting me crash at their house till my furever family finds me. I have so much joy in my heart and love to share. I’m only 2 years old (and I weigh 62 lbs) however I’ve already had a litter of pups. My foster parents helped me fix that and I'm spayed now.  So now I’m finally ready to find my perfect forever home!! Let me tell you about myself... my foster parents think I’m a german short haired pointer. I love to talk and tell you anything on my mind. I love to run and play and I adore walks. My perfect family would be very active and like to play with me and take me for walks etc. Im good at car rides too, I just need dramamine first. I love toys and oh boy do I love bones! My foster parents have crate trained me and so I know when they say to “kennel up” what I'm supposed to do. I have a foster sister (gsaralum Sasha ) who I love to play with. I'm very interested in my foster kitty, but she never wants to play with me. Anyhow, if I sound like your perfect match please reach out to gimme shelter. I can’t wait to meet you!!” We require adopters to have a safe and secure backyard. Not electric or Fido fences, as they are not as safe at containing dogs or keeping other animals or people out. For these reasons we do not adopt to homes with electric or Fido fencing. The adoption fee is $500 which includes age appropriate vaccines, microchip, monthly flea, tick and heart worm preventatives at time of adoption and age appropriate spay/neuter.
