This 1 year 4-month-old German Short Haired/Pointer Mixed breed boy will be very happy to get outside and explore any exciting new environment that will let him expend energy and learn something new.Tuxedo weighs 75 pounds, so he is a big dog (61-90 pounds) with energy and high spirits to match. German short haired pointers are intelligent, high-energy dogs and Tuxedo will be happiest with a family that is ready to run, hike, toss a ball, fling a frisbee or engage in any exercise and fun that will give Tuxedo plenty of action and opportunities for using his brain. He will enjoy spending time with dogs and children who share his love of action. It is not known if Tuxedo enjoys the company of cats.Tuxedo is learning that being a good boy at home means learning his manners and he is hard at work absorbing house and crate training while he continues to perfect leash walking. Rescue dogs may have accidents as they transition to a new home, so Tuxedo will benefit from patient and consistent lessons. If crate training is planned, Tuxedo deserves a crate that is big enough for him to turn around, stand in and lie down. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment.
