Frankie came to us from a local Animal Control after a difficult start in life. Sadly, this handsome boy was abandoned twice, with the most recent situation leaving him at a local fire department. Despite his rough beginning, Frankie is an incredibly sweet dog who loves being with his people and soaking up attention. True to his German Shorthaired Pointer breed, he is an active, intelligent boy who thrives when he has a job to do and plenty of opportunities to stay busy. Frankie is currently working on his doggy manners, and it's clear he may not have had much training in the past. He is eager to learn and will benefit from a patient family willing to help him continue building confidence and skills. Kennel life has been stressful for Frankie, and he can be quite anxious in that environment. He is a dog who needs space, exercise, and mental stimulation to truly shine. With the right home and plenty of activity, Frankie has all the potential to become a loyal and loving companion.

This 1 year 4-month-old German Short Haired/Pointer Mixed breed boy will be very happy to get outside and explore any exciting new environment that will let him expend energy and learn something new.Tuxedo weighs 68 pounds, so he is a big dog (61-90 pounds) with energy and high spirits to match. German short haired pointers are intelligent, high-energy dogs and Tuxedo will be happiest with a family that is ready to run, hike, toss a ball, fling a frisbee or engage in any exercise and fun that will give Tuxedo plenty of action and opportunities for using his brain. He will enjoy spending time with dogs and children who share his love of action. It is not known if Tuxedo enjoys the company of cats.Tuxedo is learning that being a good boy at home means learning his manners and he is hard at work absorbing house and crate training while he continues to perfect leash walking. Rescue dogs may have accidents as they transition to a new home, so Tuxedo will benefit from patient and consistent lessons. If crate training is planned, Tuxedo deserves a crate that is big enough for him to turn around, stand in and lie down. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment.
