Story
Hay Dude Equine Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Texas. All of our dogs live in foster homes in TX and are transported to their new states once adopted. All adopters must be 21+. Applications can be found at haydudeequine.org. 🐾 Meet Milo! 💛 Hi, I'm **Milo**, an 8-month-old, 45-pound Husky mix, and I'm here to tell you that I am **just a genuinely good boy.** I have a fun, playful puppy side, but I also have something pretty special for a young dog: an **amazing off switch!** When it's time to play, I'm ready to go. When it's time to relax, I'm perfectly happy to settle down and hang out with my people. Basically, I'm the best of both worlds! My story is a little sad, but it has a very happy ending. I was found wandering along a highway late one night. Two other dogs had tragically been hit by cars—likely my companions—and I was staying close to them, desperately trying to avoid the traffic. Thankfully, traffic was light that night. When my rescuer pulled over and called to me, I walked right up without hesitation. I let them put a leash on me and even picked me up and put me in the car. **From the very first second we met, I showed everyone what a sweet, trusting boy I am.** ❤️ And my personality? Well, I am pretty much everyone's dream dog! I'm **wonderful with babies, kids, dogs, and cats.** I may occasionally try to convince a cat that it would be fun to play with me, but I'm not aggressive at all. If the cat gives me a hiss or a swat, I immediately understand the assignment and politely back away. 😂 I'm also **exceptionally quiet** and rarely bark. I'm incredibly easygoing and adaptable, so I could fit into just about any home. A calm household where we go for walks and have some daily playtime would make me happy. But if your home is busy and lively with kids, dogs, and lots of activity, **I'm totally down for that too!** As long as I'm with my people, I'm a happy guy. When I'm not busy being adorable, you'll probably find me playing with my **stuffed plush toys**. My current favorite is a BIG stuffed yellow duck. 🐥 And if you really want to make me happy, rub my face! I absolutely love it and will gently lick your hands while you give me my favorite face rubs. 🥹 I'm young, healthy, happy, friendly, quiet, great with everyone, and have a fantastic ability to settle when the fun is over. After everything I went through, I think I deserve a family who will show me just how wonderful life can be. **If you're looking for a truly good boy who can be your adventure buddy, your playmate, AND your professional couch companion, I might just be your guy.** 💛🐾

Animal Profile: Wiley is a 1.5-year-old male Labrador Retriever/Husky mix (best guess!) who came to us from Texas along with his siblings. They were rescued by Animal Control from an overcrowded property and placed into foster care with one of our rescue partners before making their way to us. Wiley has grown into a happy, sweet, and affectionate dog. He's thriving in his foster home, and does well with older, dog-savvy children. With his friendly personality and playful nature, Wiley is ready to find an active family to call his own. Foster Update:  Wiley is a smart, fluffy goofball with a big personality! He's both crate trained and house trained, knows all of his basic commands, walks nicely on leash, and has an energetic, playful spirit. After spending several weeks with a professional trainer, Wiley is e-collar trained and has continued to thrive, enjoying plenty of adventures with his foster mom. Wiley is looking for an active home where he can be the only dog. He'll do best with someone who has breed experience, a securely fenced yard, and an adventurous lifestyle to match his energy. While he's not the right fit for a home with toddlers, older dog-savvy children should do well with him. Wiley also has plenty to say, so a house is a better match than an apartment where his chatty nature could be an issue. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, microchip with registration, and health certificate. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. Animal Information: Max is an almost 9month old Australian Shepherd mix puppy currently. Max was confiscated after being found with multiple broken ribs from a suspected animal abuse case. Even with this rough start, Max appears to be a pretty normal puppy. He is a bit scared of loud noises. We are so happy to be bringing Max to the Seattle area in search of his forever family. Foster Profile:  Max has been part of our family for the past four months, and he has been an absolute joy to foster. He's the kind of dog who settles in quickly, loves his people, and would make a wonderful addition to almost any home. We welcomed Max when he was about 3 months old, and he immediately became a full member of our two-dog household. He gets along wonderfully with our resident dogs and enjoys being part of the pack. Like any young pup, Max is curious and enjoys exploring, but he also has an easygoing personality that makes him a pleasure to have around. For such a young dog, Max has excellent house manners. He is fully potty trained and hasn't had a single accident in the house in over five months. He's comfortable in his crate and can happily relax for a few hours with a favorite bone while you're away. Max walks nicely on leash, has good recall, and naturally likes to stay close to his people. While he still has playful puppy moments, he's surprisingly calm and enjoys spending much of the day relaxing. A daily walk and some playtime seem to suit him just fine—he doesn't appear to be a dog who needs endless exercise to be happy. One of our favorite things about Max is his affectionate morning routine. He loves to wake us up with sweet puppy kisses, and while we enjoy our morning coffee, he'll happily curl up beside us, soaking up all the pets and snuggles he can get. It's the perfect way to start the day and a wonderful glimpse into what a loving companion he is. Max has that rare "off switch" everyone hopes for in a young dog, he enjoys his playtime but is just as happy to settle in and relax with his family. We think Max would thrive with a family or a single adopter looking for a loyal, easygoing companion. He would do well in a home with teenage children and would likely fit in with other friendly dogs, as he's done so well with ours. Max is truly a special pup with a wonderful balance of playful, affectionate, and relaxed. He's the kind of dog who will happily join you on a walk, then come home and spend the afternoon by your side. We can't wait for him to find the loving forever home he deserves.
