We sprung Danny from the shelter in San Diego where he came in as a stray in dire need of some TLC. He was severely malnourished at 30lbs underweight with wounds and cuts to his as well as skin and ear infections. Despite everything, this boy has been an absolute love. He is friendly and relaxed with people, happy to interact with dogs, and a real homebody. He is incredibly loving and trusting, and we’re already seeing glimpses of his playful curiosity, gentle energy, and even some signs of past training. He walks beautifully on a leash, takes treats with the sweetest enthusiasm, and shows a natural sense of polite behavior. He has not yet had an introduction to kids or cats, but from his demeanor it is likely he will be friendly with both. Danny would do best in a home with multiple adults that will minimize his alone time as he acclimates to his new life.

If we were to describe Sundrop in one word, it would be lovely. She is as playful as Golden Retrievers can be. She is family and kid-friendly, truly such a good dog. But despite all these traits, no one wanted to adopt Sundrop at the high-kill shelter, so she was placed on the euthanasia list. When we saw her, we fell in love and knew that someone out there would also fall in love with her. These sweet boys have been through a lot of changes — from shelter life to boarding, to a home, and back again — but through it all, their spirits have stayed golden.
