Story
A foster-to-adopt option is available for me, giving us the chance to get to know each other before making it official! Charger is an affectionate boy looking for a loving home where he can receive all the adoration he deserves. He was recently found living outside in an enclosure, but these circumstances have not stopped Charger from loving people. Charger is currently in a foster home, and his foster mom reports that he enjoys cuddles, gets along well with his foster family's dog, and he's housebroken! He also stays busy exploring his foster family's backyard and playing with his stuffed toys. He picks up on things quickly, and has easily adapted to his foster family's routine. He also really likes snacking on carrots! Charger is a favorite among Furkids staff and volunteers due to his endearing demeanor and playful personality. Charger has also been introduced to dogs at the shelter and enjoyed a playful interaction with them. He is gentle and very intelligent. Charger is looking for someone who will appreciate his loyal heart and be patient as he is anxious in new situations. We believe that he will thrive in a stable, loving home. Charger currently weighs about 37lbs., is approximately 9 yrs old (est. birth date 005/19/2016), and his adoption fee is $85. Charger has been neutered, is up to date on all vaccinations & preventatives, and is microchipped. If you want to know more about Charger, please complete a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you within 72 hours to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. You must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Meet Trooper! Trooper (5 years, 67.8 lbs.) is very lovable and loves going on runs and playing in the yard, he was surrendered by his owners because they no longer had the time to give him the attention he deserved. Trooper would need to be an only pet, but I promise he's got enough love in him to fill the role of 2 dogs! He would love nothing more than to snuggle on the couch and play tug of war. Trooper is waiting for his forever home!

Please call the shelter at (706) 795-2868 to schedule a meet and greet.Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter is a non-profit shelter serving over 720 square miles. We are open intake, meaning we can not turn away animals from either county we serve. Our shelter intakes double or triple it's capacity every month so it is essential we place animals quickly into adoptive homes. Since so many animals enter the shelter we often don't have enough volunteers to write an individual bio for each. Please feel free to call the shelter Wednesday-Sunday to inquire about the animal you are interested in. 706-795-2868.Viewing and adoption hours at our shelter are Wednesday through Sunday from 12 PM to 5 PM.
