Story
Reef is truly my best friend in the whole world, and I love him more than I can put into words. One of the hardest things I'm learning is that sometimes loving someone also means letting them go, and that's something I'm still struggling to understand. Reef is currently 1 year and 6 months old, and as much as writing this breaks my heart, my wife and I believe it's the best decision for him. When we brought Reef into our lives, our lifestyle was very different. Since then, our work has grown tremendously, and we now travel constantly and spend long hours working. Reef is a typical field Golden Retriever—he's incredibly energetic, loves to play all day, and deserves plenty of space, attention, and activity. Right now, we simply can't give him the life we always intended to provide. We are located in Neptune, New Jersey, and our goal is to find Reef a home where he can truly thrive. This has been the hardest decision we've ever had to make.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Bruno is a sweet boy who is looking for a home! He's currently with our rescue partners in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon with a foster or adopter.   Meet Bruno- Bruno is a 1-year-old, 53-lb sweetheart who gets along GREAT with other dogs! He is currently in a foster home with two other dogs and LOVES to play with them! He also loves toys, doesn't mind getting dressed up and loves to give kisses! Bruno is just the bestest boy! He knows how to sit, is fully house trained and goes right into his crate and sleeps through the night! And although we already know he is 100% a good boy, Bruno has gotten a DNA test done so we know exactly what this good boy is now! Bruno is 55% Golden Retriever, 13% American Pitbull Terrier, 12% American Staffordshire Terrier, 6% Labrador Retriever and 3% Australian Cattle Dog! Bruno loves his foster family, but he still needs a forever family to of his own!  Bruno is fixed, micro-chipped, and up to date on rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines. Bruno tested negative for heartworm. His adoption donation is $500. - Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these dogs have been through they deserve a loving, committed home. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 21, 2026, 9:09 pm

Story
Between July 5th and July 26th, part of my adoption fee is sponsored! Thanks to the Bissell Pet Foundation's Empty the Shelters campaign, my new family can take me home for $70! Meet Marley! Marley is a 75-lb, 3-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a heart every bit as big as he is. This sweet, friendly boy loves people and is always happy to soak up attention. Start petting him, and he'll likely roll right over to show off his belly and ask for rubs. Despite his size, Marley is surprisingly easy to walk on leash and may just need a brush up on his leash skills. He has been wonderful with children, and doesn't jump up on people. He's the kind of dog who is content to be part of the family and spend time with his favorite humans. Marley enjoys a good game of fetch and loves chewing on bully sticks. Like many Golden mixes, he is very food-motivated and has an impressive appetite. If there's food around, Marley will do his best to investigate, so keeping snacks and leftovers secure is a must! He is both potty trained and crate trained, making him an easy companion to welcome into a new home. If you're looking for a gentle giant who is affectionate, family-friendly, and always ready for belly rubs, Marley could be the perfect match. If you meet this lovable boy—you might just fall in love! Marley is being fostered in Brooklyn, NY and his adoption fee is $500. "To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."

Story
Meet Jody . Jody is a 2–3-year-old Doodle girl with the sweetest soul and the gentlest heart. She can be a little shy when meeting new people or experiencing new things, but once she feels safe, she melts right into you and happily seeks out affection, reassurance, and snuggles. This lovely girl is still learning that the world is a safe and wonderful place. She’s making progress every day and would thrive with a patient family willing to help build her confidence and show her all of life’s adventures at her own pace. Jody absolutely loves going for walks, soaking up quiet moments, and curling up close with her people. She’s incredibly gentle and does beautifully with everyone she meets. Because she bonds deeply and will benefit from continued guidance and socialization, Jody would do best with a family who has the time to devote to her and include her in everyday life. Older children would be the best fit for her gentle and sensitive personality. If you’re looking for a sweet companion who will reward your patience with endless love and loyal snuggles, Jody may just be your perfect match. Jody is fully vetted and ready to go home. Please apply to adopt Jody at bfdaaa.com, and if your application is a possible match, a volunteer will get back to you shortly. No inquiries, please, without an adoption application. Story
Maxx is a handsome, healthy, 7-year-old Golden Retriever looking for an experienced owner who understands independent, strong-willed dogs.He is incredibly loyal, intelligent, highly trainable, and forms an exceptionally deep bond with his person. After welcoming a baby into our family, we made the difficult decision to find Maxx a home that better fits his needs. He is happiest in an adult-only environment where he can thrive. He would do best on a farm, large property, or rural home where he has space to roam and a job to do.Maxx is naturally alert and protective, making him an excellent watchdog. He is not the typical social Golden Retriever and does best with someone who appreciates his protective nature and is willing to continue his training. Our original plan was to invest in professional training, and we are happy to contribute toward the cost of training to help set him and his new family up for success.
