Story
Meet Ava! Ava is a sweet, 12-year-old Golden Retriever/Shepherd mix weighing in at 43 pounds of pure love. This gentle girl is the perfect combination of calm and easy-going, making her the ideal companion for a cozy, laid-back home. Ava is housebroken, has great manners, and knows "sit"! After spending 7.5 years with the same family, Ava was suddenly and unexpectedly uprooted from the only home she had ever known because she no longer got along with the other dog in the family. After so many years of loyalty and love to her original family, this sweet soul now finds herself in search of a new family to call her own. Despite the heartbreak of losing her home, Ava remains as loving and gentle as ever. She truly deserves a home where she can be the only dog, offering her affection and companionship to someone who will cherish her for the rest of her days in her most golden years. If you're looking for a loyal and low-maintenance friend, Ava is ready to bring warmth and unconditional love into your life. Adopt this golden girl and let her brighten your days with her gentle spirit. Ava is spayed, up to date on vaccinations, and microchipped. **Please note: completing an "adoption inquiry" via Adopt-a-pet/Petfinder does not constitute an HFG Dog Rescue adoption application. All adoption applications must be completed on www.hfgdr.org** HFG Dog Rescue is a 100 percent foster-based rescue located in Berkeley Heights, NJ with a sister location, The Almost Home Wellness Center, in Aiken, SC. All of our dogs are rescued from kill shelters in SC + GA and once ready for adoption live in loving local NJ foster homes until they find forever families of their own. Our fosters begin basic training, housebreaking, and leash-walking skills to help pair you with the perfect pup for life! In order to apply for adoption and set up an individual meet and greet with one of our dogs, please visit us at www.hfgdr.org. Find us on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HomeForGoodDogRescue.

Story
Come meet me and 100+ of my adoptable friends at Louie's Legacy Animal Rescue's MEGA adoption event, Home for the Holidays! Saturday, December 14th, 2024 at Immanual Union Church (693 Jewett Ave, Staten Island, NY 10314) from 11am-3pm. Meet Matzah! Matzah is a 1.5 year old male Golden Retriever, who weighs about 65 pounds. Matzah may be shy and nervous when he first meets you, but with a little time and patience he will become more comfortable and relaxed. He is wonderful around other dogs and kids of all ages. He loves going on walks and running around playing in the yard with his other doggy friends. Matzah is a very calm and quiet. He doesn't bark or whine at all and sleeps fine throughout the night. He is house trained, however will need patience from his new family to adjust to a new schedule and home. Matzah is being fostered in Hawthorne, NJ and he is an absolute pleasure to have around. His adoption fee is $600. Matzah is a Patron Pup. Patron Pups have higher adoption fees due to varying reasons and are adopted quickly, even with these higher adoption fees. They may be purebred, a highly desirable breed, small in size fully grown, etc. These fees allow them to act as patrons to other pets in our care who may not be as adoptable, or have ongoing costs for medical care, contributing to a longer time in rescue, and therefore a higher cost for us to care for them. Patron Pups allow us to continue rescuing these other animals and give them a better chance at finding their forever homes as well. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.
