Sadly, Rex and his brother Mercury are being surrendered after their owner passed away. Since their worlds have been turned upside down, the two boys are not getting along in their current living situation. Rex has shown that he gets along well with the other two large resident dogs in his caretaker’s home and he has previously lived with cats. He is comfortable being left alone in the house and is well-behaved. He is friendly, walks well on leash, and likes baths! He is here in NJ ready to meet his new family. Sequoia is a 10-month-old, 45-lb Golden Retriever mix who brings sweetness, joy, and classic puppy charm everywhere she goes. She’s likely to get a bit bigger, but her gentle, loving personality is already shining through. This girl is an all-around really great dog. She loves meeting new people, plays beautifully with the resident dog, and happily allows baths, ear checks, and gentle handling. She’s showing typical puppy behaviors like a little play biting and jumpiness, but she’s smart and eager to please. Sequoia is currently working on her potty training and crate training and making steady progress with routine. (Sequoia thrives when she knows someone is nearby. She does experience some mild separation anxiety, which is common at her age, but with reassurance and continued training she’s very likely to outgrow it. Because of this, she would do best in a home with a resident dog or someone who is home often to help her feel secure.) Some of her favorite things include greeting every human she sees, playing with her foster dog sibling, and curling up close after a day of puppy adventures. 🧡 URGENT: TEMP FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED BY 11/23 🧡 Meet Sir Griffin – the golden-hearted survivor who just wants to love and be loved! My name is Griffin; I’m a 45 lb. Golden Retriever mix, saved from euthanasia while in an overcrowded southern shelter after I was found as a stray. Boy was I in a rough condition. For the past eight weeks, I have been living in a foster home in South Jersey with my foster dad who loves me very much, treats me well and believes I am between 2 and 4 years old. I was recently groomed and the groomer said I was such a good boy. Here are some things my foster dad says about me. “Griffin is a great dog who really loves to please and be near his person. He loves attention, affection and cuddles, doing zoomies around the house or yard, going on walks, or playing with his toys. He loves to play fetch and tug-o-war. Griffin loves people and gets excited when someone comes to the house as he looks for the attention. He will bark and wag his tail when he sees someone outside, but that is a plus. He will make a wonderful companion. Grifin is also food motivated which makes training a breeze; he has already learned the following commands - no, sit, paw, wait, stay [he even learned the hand signal for stay (palm up facing out)], lay down, and take it nice (re: treats). He even knows to get on his dog bed at night when I tell him. Griffin is house-trained and alerts me when he needs to go potty. He also does great being home alone and lies by the door waiting for me to come home. (I have interior cameras). Griffin would do best with a family or individual with a large fenced yard for him to run and play fetch, and one where his adoptive pet parent(s) will be patient with him and continue to reinforce desired behaviors. He may benefit by having one (or possibly more) dogs in the home for him to play with and expend his energy. Older kids are recommended because we believe he is mixed with a “herding” breed and they can be nippy, but he only showed this attribute during the first week of his fostering. Meet Mallow :) Mallow is a mixed breed, likely a blend of Retriever and Jindo. He currently weighs about 51 lbs. He entered a city shelter when he was around two years old. It's believed he was abandoned because he was highly excitable and barked a lot at the time. I rescued him just one day before his scheduled euthanasia. At that time, he was heartworm positive. Fortunately, he has now completed his treatment and been fully cured! After more than six months of consistent training, Mallow has transformed into a gentle and wonderful dog. He has great leash manners and absolutely adores people, showering them with affection. Mallow also gets along very well with other dogs. However, he can be a bit jealous, so we hope he can find a forever home where he can be the only pet. Fluffy and pure white like a marshmallow, Mallow will make a truly perfect companion. 🐾 Mallow is currently staying at a training center in South Korea, waiting patiently for his forever family. Once he finds an adoptive family, he can travel anywhere across the United States. He is neutered, fully vaccinated, and has even completed a full dental cleaning!
