Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Honey is as sweet as her name.  This golden girl is with one of our sister rescues in LA and will come to NJ on 6/13.  Meet Honey… and yes, she’s exactly as sweet as her name suggests. This golden girl is one of three siblings who landed in the shelter as part of an “oops” litter, but she’s not dwelling on the past—she’s too busy being adorable. Honey is friendly, playful, and fully committed to making every human she meets fall in love with her (it’s working). With her beautiful golden coat and happy-go-lucky personality, she’s basically sunshine in puppy form… just with more zoomies. If your life could use a little extra sweetness (and maybe a few chewed shoelaces), Honey is ready to move right in. Honey is up to date on puppy vaccines and has been treated for puppy parasites. Wag On Inn will arrange for spay/neuter and microchip at 5-6 months of age at the Spay and Neuter Center of NJ in Holmdel.  Adopters must live within driving distance of Holmdel, NJ.   Her adoption donation is $600 . Adopting an animal is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption. After all these animals have been through they deserve a loving, committed home.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 6, 2026, 6:26 pm

Hi, I'm Jersey — a 1-year-old Retriever mix looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home! 🐕 I'm a medium-sized girl at 30 pounds, full of youthful energy and ready to grow into my best self with the right person by my side This animal is scheduled to arrive on transport to the NYC/NJ area on 6/6 and is in need of a foster home upon arrival. We partner with overcrowded shelters across the country to bring animals into foster homes in the Northeast, where they can decompress and find their forever families. What does it mean to foster? The most important responsibility is providing a safe, loving home. We’ll guide you through everything you need to know, including quarantine, basic care, and safety protocols. Our Foster Handbook and dedicated mentors are there to support you every step of the way. What do you need? Depending on the animal, you may need supplies like a crate, puppy pads, or food and water bowls—but don’t worry, we have a large foster network that helps share resources! Louie’s Legacy covers all approved medical care, including vetting and spay/neuter. By fostering, YOU are making a difference. Every foster opens the door to saving another life. Apply to foster today: https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/foster/LOUE/Dog Please note: The specific animal you’re interested in may not be available by the time your application is processed. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible and remain open to helping other animals in need.

Story
Meet Marley! Marley is a 75-lb, 3-year-old Golden Retriever mix with a heart every bit as big as he is. This sweet, friendly boy loves people and is always happy to soak up attention. Start petting him, and he'll likely roll right over to show off his belly and ask for rubs. Despite his size, Marley is surprisingly easy to walk on leash and may just need a brush up on his leash skills. He has been wonderful with children, and doesn't jump up on people. He's the kind of dog who is content to be part of the family and spend time with his favorite humans. Marley enjoys a good game of fetch and loves chewing on bully sticks. Like many Golden mixes, he is very food-motivated and has an impressive appetite. If there's food around, Marley will do his best to investigate, so keeping snacks and leftovers secure is a must! He is both potty trained and crate trained, making him an easy companion to welcome into a new home. If you're looking for a gentle giant who is affectionate, family-friendly, and always ready for belly rubs, Marley could be the perfect match. If you meet this lovable boy—you might just fall in love! Marley is being fostered in Staten Island, NY and his adoption fee is $500. "To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."

Story
Braxton is a truly unique and handsome pup and could be all yours. How is he still waiting? He’s a 1 year old, 67 lb Australian Shepherd and Golden Retriever mix with a coat that turns heads everywhere he goes. Braxton starts every day with excitement for breakfast and his morning walk. He loves exploring the world by your side and, once he’s had his exercise, he’s all about big, comfortable naps. His foster shares that he loves being close to his people, is friendly and excited to meet new people, and is great with other dogs. He is fully house trained, enjoys long walks, wrestling, and outdoor adventures, and settles into a cuddly, relaxed couch potato once his energy is out. He is currently working on crate training, leash manners, “leave it,” and improving focus when squirrels, birds, and other sidewalk distractions appear. Braxton’s ideal home is an active household with space to run, sniff, and explore, and someone who wants a true sidekick, because his favorite place is wherever his people are. He is fully vetted, neutered, and ready for his forever home.Adopt Braxton: rescuecity.nyc/adopt ##2695465##
