Story
**Please note this is pet is currently out of town but we will transport this pet when adopted. All fees listed include transport fees.** All dogs deserve a great home but some dogs have stories that just break your heart and make you cheer for them just a little more. Dogs like Rowdy deserve a family to show him that his experience up until FWFP with humans are not typical! Rowdy wad dumped in rural Oklahoma in a place famous for dog dumps. He was just a 4 month old little puppy that was sick and left out in the winter cold. He almost did not survive. Today, he is a 3 year old, healthy 37 pound Golden Retriever/ Aussie mix. He loves children, adults, seniors and other dogs! NO CATS! Rowdy is a well mannered little fella. Even though Rowdy has lived on a farm, he is not a digger nor does he climb fences. Rowdy is perfectly crate trained and housebroken. He rides in the car with no problem but needs a little more work with leash training. He needs a new family that can give him more attention and help him with leash training. Rowdy loves to be spoiled with smoked marrow bones and lots of hugs and kisses!. Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs, one application will be fine. We have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, and your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws . We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions to find our babies the best fit home for them and you. Please do not submit an application if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and the perfect forever home for our dogs. We appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fees cover spay/neuter surgery, full (age appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention and travel expenses. All of our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Sven wakes up happy every single day. He’s the kind of dog that always seems to be smiling, always ready for whatever comes next, and always excited to be part of things without becoming overwhelming or chaotic. Sven is a one-year-old mix breed who has the coat and face of a golden retriever and the compact build of a heeler. He has a great middle-ground personality that makes him easy to live with. When it’s time to play, go for a walk, or hang out with other dogs, he’s fully in. But once the excitement is over, he settles down nicely instead of endlessly bouncing off the walls. He gets along great with dogs of all sizes and has a naturally social, easygoing personality that helps him fit into just about any environment. Sven has the fun energy people want in a young dog without the constant intensity that can make some high-energy breeds exhausting. Good fit: someone wanting a happy, social dog that enjoys activity but also knows how to relax and settle into daily life. Adoption process: All adoptions are completed prior to transport. Dogs are picked up at designated transport locations. If an adoption doesn’t work out (rare, but life happens), we always take our dogs back. Location: Oklahoma (available to approved out-of-state adopters via transport) Health: Fully vetted (spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested) Adoption fee: $500 (includes transport + vetting) Transport routes: WA, OR, ID, MT, UT, WY, CO, MN, WI, IA, IL, IN, OH, PA, MD, NY, NJ, VT Think you might be a good fit? Apply to be considered: https://form.jotform.com/82677586784176 Desiderata Rescue – Oklahoma Licensed Rescue #95

Story
Looking to try to rehome our Golden. We are reposting to make sure she goes to a good home. She is extremely gentle, amazing with babies, and with other pets. She’s about 9 years old. We don’t have her papers because she was a puppy mill rescue when she was a baby. We would prefer if she was the only pet in the home so she gets lots of attention. Please only reach out if you are ready for a very loving and calm dog. She isn’t much of a runner but loves walks. She won’t retrieve sticks but loves to go to the beach, forest and lounge next to a human.
