Story
9 month old Waylon is Goldendoodles looking for a new home. He's sweet, playful and wants to please. Of course, being a puppy, he will chew and can usually find some sort of mischief to get into if left unsupervised so would do best in a home where they are not on their own for extended periods of time. Waylon is all tan and housetrained but not crate trained. He will require a neuter and that cost will be included in his adoption donation. A fenced yard is requested, he walks on a leash but owner feels would do best with room to run. If you are interested in meeting him please fill out an adoption application on our website, sccpets.com. The adoption donation for is $350September 21, 2023, 6:45 pm

Story
Meet Bradley, a true survivor with a heart full of love! He was rescued in January of 2023. When he arrived at the facility he was matted, stinky, and only weighed 30 pounds. His journey from being chained in a cold, lonely garage to a long term foster home is nothing short of miraculous. With some extra care, patience, and lots of love, he blossomed into the wonderful boy he is today.Bradley, is a Golden Doodle, approximately 3 years of age. Every morning, he greets his foster family with boundless excitement, ready to share his affection by nestling his head against their leg– his version of a warm hug. Initially unsure about being a family dog, Bradley found his way with the help of his 9-year-old lab brother, and he's now a playful and loving companion. Bradley is going to do best in a home with another dog. This lively pup adores playtime and long walks. While he has plenty of energy, he responds well to commands, recalls off-leash and sticks close to his beloved humans when meeting others on the trail. After his initial burst of enthusiasm, Bradley enjoys walking side by side with his favorite humans.Bradley has a unique way of showing his excitement – he nuzzles with an open mouth, a quirky habit that showcases his affectionate nature. He doesn’t really nip, but this should be considered, especially around small children. He is NOT cat friendly! Due to his previous life and breed, he does have a very strong prey drive. If he is on leash he will look and follow commands but given the opportunity he will chase prey. He wants nothing more than to love and be loved. He wants to be with people as much as possible but he has no concerning behaviors when left alone with other dogs.Throughout his nine months in foster care, Bradley has made remarkable progress. He now has a clean bill of health, weighs almost 60 lbs, is neutered and has gained his confidence. While it's difficult to say goodbye, his foster family knows he's destined to bring happiness to a new family. He truly deserves to be pampered and cherished every day for the rest of his life. If you're ready to open your heart and home to this cheerful boy, please reach out and we can discuss rehoming options. If you are interested in adopting we ask that you please email adoption@columbiahumane.org in order to obtain an adoption application. For more information call 503-397-4353 or email adoption@columbiahumane.orgSeptember 21, 2023, 6:31 am

Story
English Setter + Australian Shepherd Mix 3 years old Female 50 pounds Kids · 12+ Dogs · Yes Cats · Dog-savvy cats So yeah, I guess you could describe me as a little bit of a scaredy cat. I am not afraid to admit that I am afraid. Fearful, in fact. That is the first step to recovery, right? Admitting the problem. Hello, my name is Sandy, and I am a scaredy cat. Wow! That feels a lot better! I feel like I am really opening up here. I think that is what I need, someone to open up to. Someone that won’t judge me, someone that will listen, someone that will give me the time to actualize my true potential. Someone to give me the TLC I am craving. I am longing to trust, longing for some stability and a quiet, patient person to call my own. I am already crate trained, and won’t mind sharing my home with respectful and gentle children 12+, who will allow me the time and space to blossom. A canine friend to keep me company and help boost my confidence sounds nice, and I even did okay meeting the kitty cats too. Wow! Just letting all this out I feel like a new dog already! Will you give me the opportunity to become the best dog I can be? My adoption fee is $240 and includes spay, microchip & registration, reduced-cost training class, 1 month pet health insurance, free veterinary exam, leash/collar, toy & treat packet, food sample.
