Story
To apply to adopt this dog now, complete our adoption application  HERE To see our upcoming events where you can meet some of our dogs, please see  HERE Age: 1 Year (as of 3/1/2024) Weight: 66.4 lbs (as of 4/23/2024) Location: RI   This dog has been spayed/neutered, is up to date on shots, on heartworm preventative and is microchipped.   Meet Dawn, a gentle sweetheart with a heart of gold. This gorgeous girl was found dumped in a ditch at the edge of some woods with her 12 puppies that didn’t even have their eyes open, but despite this harsh treatment, she hasn't lost her sweet and affectionate nature and has plenty of love and loyalty to give. At around a year old, Dawn isn’t much more than a puppy herself so has plenty of energy to keep up with an active family but also loves to snuggle with her people. Dawn is a big softie who adores cuddles and belly rubs. She is pretty calm but is learning not to jump up. She also walks fairly well on a leash, with only a little pulling, but she is working on that. Dawn is the perfect partner for outdoor adventures or lazy strolls in the park. Dawn is also a social butterfly who gets along famously with all the dogs she has met. While Dawn hasn't been around cats yet, her easygoing nature suggests she could adapt with proper introductions. She hasn't had any accidents in the house, showing she's a quick learner and eager to please. Dawn's gentle demeanor makes her a great fit for families with school age children, as she has been patient and loving and eager for pets from them during her walks in the neighborhood. Although Dawn is a big girl, she can be a bit shy in new situations. With patience and positive reinforcement, she's sure to blossom into an even more confident companion. Dawn is the perfect girl for the family looking for a loyal and affectionate addition to their family!   An adoption donation is required for each adoption; please see  HERE  for more information about this. To apply for this dog, fill out an adoption application on our website: www.sosarl.org/aa/ **Additional info you should know - For most of our dogs, we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each of our dogs as an individual and do our best to describe and place them based on personality not breed label. Some dogs may not yet be in New England, nor ready for immediate adoption. There may be additional vetting, quarantine, waiting periods and/or fees depending upon your state of residence. If you have questions or concerns on any of this, you can discuss this with your Adoption Counselor. May 6, 2024, 9:01 pm

Story
Introducing Goldilocks, a petite golden retriever mix with a heart of gold.If we could sum up Goldi in one word, it would be "chill." With her calm, submissive demeanor and minimal barking, she's the epitome of tranquility. Though initially shy, Goldi's gentle nature is blossoming daily, and she's gradually gaining confidence.Goldi thrives in a serene environment and would thrive best in a home without a lot of commotion. While she may have spent most of her time outdoors before entering foster care, she's adapting well to indoor living and mastering the art of lounging around the house. She's potty trained and knows how to signal when nature calls. This lovely lady enjoys leisurely walks and relishes meeting new human and canine friends along the way. While she's been great with kids during walks, the energy of young children may be overwhelming for her so that a quieter household would suit her best. Similarly, while she enjoys the company of other dogs, she's more comfortable in small groups rather than bustling doggy daycares.Goldi truly shines when surrounded by other furry companions, so she'll only be adopted into a home with another confident, playful dog. And if you have a fenced-in yard, even better—she adores frolicking and rolling around in the grass to her heart's content.Despite her heartworm-positive status, Goldi has completed her pre-treatment and is gearing up for her heartworm treatment, which PAWS New England fully covers. If Goldi sounds like your ideal furry companion, don't hesitate to submit your application today!Name: GoldilocksBreed: Golden Retriever/CrossbreedSex: FemaleAge: 1-2 years  (estimated)Weight: 40 lbsSpayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: YesGood with Dogs: Yes, must have one in her new home.Good with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $500.00\Location of dog currently:  New EnglandIMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue - our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south and New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Missy, Lost her Dad a year ago and now her mom has fallen ill and is now entering a nursing home. I started watching Missy as a pet sitter last year and we first met her mom had been taken off by the ambulance and her comes this stranger into her home to let her out. She wasn’t sure of me at first but some good pets and treats we were best friends. Missy is such a sweetheart all she wants is loving from you. She wants you to be outside with her while she does her thing but once she is done she wants to go in to get her belly rubs. She loves to go for walks, she never pulls on the leash. She would love to sit with her owners and keep the company. She has a cat sister and they hang out with each other. Missy is easy going and loves to be where ever you are. She is an easy going dog. She would make a great addition to anyone’s home.
