Story
Say hello to Bodhi Popcorn!!Just in time for the spring, this lanky (local) and energetic golden boy is ready for play on the beach or accompanying you on hikes in the woods! This handsome pup was rescued by a kind-hearted Good Samaritan in Mississippi who made sure he got to safety. He was soon adopted into a loving home, but it turned out not to be the perfect match. Luckily, he’s now thriving with his local foster family, where he settled in right away. They absolutely adore his velvety ears, gentle kisses, and loping gait.Bodhi is VERY playful with lots of energy. He is smart and curious, and eager to do what’s right. He already knows basic commands (when he wants to) like “sit”, “down” and “leave it”, He is quite puppy-like and still learning some manners and does best with gentle reminders not to jump or nip when he's excited during play. He's also a bit of a shoe enthusiast—he’ll even try to sneak one right off your foot! Luckily, a good rope toy is a perfect distraction.Bodhi is crate trained and enjoys using his crate as a cozy spot for quiet time each day. He’s making progress with housetraining but hasn’t quite figured out how to signal when he needs to go out—patience and routine will help him get there.Bodhi is quite the talker and isn’t shy about letting you know when he hears something outside—he considers himself the family’s alert system! An outdoor adventurer at heart, he absolutely LOVES running, jumping, digging, and playing chase. After a good romp in the yard, he’s happy to stretch out for a well-earned nap.Bodhi’s playful, inquisitive nature means he’s also a bit of an escape artist, so he’ll need a secure, high-fenced yard and close supervision during any off-leash time. He’s still learning the ropes with recall, so safety first! He already great on leash and learning to heel like a pro. He’s adjusting well to city life, though he can be a little unsure when bikes or strollers pass by—he’s taking it all in with wide-eyed wonder. This social guy loves meeting new people and other dogs! He also rides well in the car with a seatbelt.Bodhi will thrive in a spacious home with frequent access to the outdoors, where he can explore the world by your side. With his big heart and adventurous spirit, Bodhi Pop is sure to become an amazing companion.Name: Bodhi PopcornBreed: Golden Retriever/CrossbreedSex: MaleAge: 1 year  (estimated)Weight: 34.0 (needs to gain some weight)Spayed/Neutered: YesVaccinations: Up to dateHeartworm: Negative on recent testingMicrochipped: YesBASED ON OUR OBSERVATIONS:Good with Children: Over 7Good with Dogs: YesGood with Cats: UnknownAdoption Fee: $550.00 Location of dog currently:    New England IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue; our dogs reside in various locations throughout the south & New England.  Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary.Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. Story
PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Mikah! Mikah is approximately 7 months old, 42 lbs currently and he likely has some Lab in his mix! in his mix! Mikah was found as a stray with his sister Mia. In his foster home, he is working hard on his house-training, crate training, and leash walking. He could go to a home with kids 5+, cats, and young playful dogs. His foster says, `Mikah is a sweet, happy go lucky lab mix puppy! He loves to play and wrestle with other dogs, but will equally be respectful of senior dogs’ personal space. Mikah learns quickly and is food and treat motivated. He walks well on a leash and doesn’t mind a crate. He loves to play fetch with sticks and balls and he would benefit from an active family with another dog, who could play with him. He would love to go for walks or even hikes in nature.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth on May 9th.
