Meet Penelope! Penelope is approximately 10 months old, ~40 lbs currently and she is a Mutt. She was found as a stray at a boat ramp that is a known dumping ground. She is working hard on her house-training, crate training, and hasn`t had any leash walking experience yet. She could go to a home with kids 5+, and other young dogs.No apartments, please! She is initially shy and would benefit from a home with a fenced yard and another young dog.Her foster says, `She loves loves LOVES toys. She has a toy in her mouth 95% of the time. She loves frozen or fresh blueberries, carrots, and Greek yogurt. She is very cuddly and loving. She will sit for treats.`She is available for adoption in Hopkinton, MA by appointment. We are Gigot (zhee-go) and Agneau (ahn-yo)—a bonded pair of Goldendoodles who have spent the last year learning, healing, and hoping together. In fact, we just celebrated our one-year anniversary at Yankee, and while everyone here loves us deeply, they’re all rooting for the day we finally get to go home. Agneau is a 44 lbs female and Gigot is a 62 lbs male. Over this past year, we’ve met so many kind people—and we’ve learned that we actually can make new friends, as long as they meet us gently and patiently, right where we are. The staff here will tell you they’ve seen our hearts open little by little, and that we’ve tried so hard to be brave. Gigot has been working especially hard on his leash reactivity, and it’s likely to be his biggest challenge in a new home. He’ll need someone who understands this, who can help him stay calm, give gentle guidance, and remind him that the world isn’t so scary. With time, patience, and love, he can make huge progress. And Agneau… well, she follows this big guy everywhere. They are truly the cutest pair—two best friends who steady each other, understand each other, and light up when they’re together. We’re playful, goofy dogs at heart—full of joy, full of love, full of potential. We just need a home that understands us. A home that knows that once we feel safe, our silliness comes out, our affection pours out, and our loyalty is unwavering. Everyone at Yankee keeps asking, “Why are these two still here?” After a whole year of showing our hearts and trying our best, we’re ready for someone to finally see just how special we are. I’m a super loving guy, especially with my people. Once I trust you, I’m loyal, affectionate, and happiest curled up close, soaking in all the love. I bond deeply, and I’m really just looking for someone who wants a devoted companion by their side. I also want to be honest — I have some big feelings when I’m on a leash. New people and dogs can make me nervous, and sometimes I react because I’m not sure what to do. I’m working on it, though, and I hope my future family will be patient and ready to help me keep learning. I promise I’m worth the effort. Because I can get overwhelmed, I’d do best as the only dog in the home. PLEASE NOTE: This dog is currently out of state but will be transported to Massachusetts shortly with no additional travel costs. Roughly 90% of our dogs are adopted prior to their transport up to MA and 10% are adopted locally.Meet Tucker! Tucker is approximately 2 years old, 72 lbs currently and he might have some Lab in his mix! Tucker was surrendered and found out to be heartworm positive. He`s spent the last few months in his southern foster home getting plenty of TLC and going through heartworm treatment. He is now heartworm negative and ready for adoption!Tucker is high energy and needs an active household. He could join households with other high energy and playful dogs and/or dog-savvy kids. No cats, please!His foster says, Tucker is a BEAUTIFUL, LOVING BOY!! He is so happy to see me and he lets me know it. Tucker loves to run and play with his foster sister Annie. He walks very well on his leash ( harness) with no issues. Tucker loves running in our back yard.....He is very well behaved. He is always so happy to meet new people. This big boy is going to make a family very happy. I hope the family that adopts Tucker will see him the way I do. He is an amazing, loving dog. I have been so blessed being able to foster him. He is taking a piece of my heart with him.`He is available for adoption in N Dartmouth mid to late January.
