Sonny is blossoming more each day in her foster home, and it’s been a joy to watch her confidence grow. She’s learning daily routines, approaching new situations with less fear, and showing just how loving and loyal she truly is. A classic Velcro Golden, Sonny bonds quickly and deeply with her people and is happiest when she’s close—curled up beside you on the couch or sleeping on your bed at night. Sonny gets along beautifully with her canine foster siblings and requires a home with at least one stable, confident dog to help guide her. She absolutely loves zooming around, so a fenced yard is a must for her happy bursts of play. While she shows no prey drive around kittens, she prefers that other animals respect her personal space, especially around her face—so dog-savvy, respectful cats would be the best fit. In the home, Sonny is a wonderful companion. She does well being gated for up to four hours with no accidents or destructive behavior, though she does not tolerate a crate. She would do best with children over the age of 12 who can understand her boundaries and gentle nature. Sonny will do best in a calm, patient home with predictable routines and realistic expectations. She needs an adopter who understands that confidence and trust take time, and who is willing to let her move at her own pace. A quieter household with adults or older children would help her continue to thrive. As Sonny builds confidence in new environments, she’s looking for a loving family who will offer patience and encouragement along the way. I love collecting my treasures and taking them to my bed, so I need a home with older kids who can help me learn boundaries. I’m great with other dogs and love saying hi and playing whenever I get the chance. AJ is nine years old and weighs in around 55 pounds (would you believe genetic testing showed that he was 50% Chihuahua?!) He walks fantastically on a leash and loves to lay by you on the couch, but will also be pleasantly happy on a dog bed or the floor. He knows basic sign language for common commands. His favorite snack is popcorn, and he also enjoys peanut butter, plain yogurt, all dog cookies and snacks. He is very well house trained, and will let you know when he has to go out by staring and poking you with his nose, while making a small mooing sound! He does not love baths, but will tolerate them without much of a fight. He gets the zoomies after fresh air, and definitely after having a bowel movement. He`ll engage you in a game of tug for a short bit, but as otherwise is rather calm and lazy. AJ would do best in a home that isnt super chaotic. I am part of the Green Bay Packer litter. My foster momma says that I`m a super awesome puppy. I am great at coming when I`m called. I also have a good start at potty training because I know the meaning of `out` and `potty-potty`, and I rarely have a poop accident in the house but sometimes can`t hold my pee. However, I do at least do well at getting to the potty pad when I can`t hold it. I`m sure I`ll get the hang of potty training quickly. I`m also learning `no bite` and while I understand the words I often need to be reminded, because I really am just a little puppy and can`t be expected to know everything yet.
