Story
Mellow is a great 2-year-old dog. He will need a lot of attention and needs his daily exercise. He has to be close to people and have lots of room in the yard to run. The only reason for relocation is that my mom is moving in, and she has two small dogs that will not get along with him. He has been trained and will do well with an e-collar if used consistently. He has lots of energy and loves to play. He loves people and is good with kids. Cats may not tolerate him because he keeps bugging them playfully.

He spent his days tied outside in Mexico until someone rescued him from that life. Today he is trained, sweet and completely ready for an active family who is home often and understands doodles. If you're looking for a dog who believes life is better when we're together, I think we should meet! My favorite place in the world? Right next to you...or even better, on your lap! I'm a total cuddle bug, I give amazing hugs, and if you move from one room to another, don't worry—I was planning on going there too. I just really love being with my humans. I'm pretty laid back most of the time, but I also enjoy getting outside, going for walks (I'm a good girl on a leash!), and I've recently discovered how much fun it is to play with other dogs. My buddy Buddy has been teaching me that wrestling and zoomies are pretty awesome, so I'd love a home with another friendly dog to hang out with. I also have a little secret...I'm more athletic than I look! Apparently I've been watching the deer, because I figured out how to jump a fence just like they do. So I'll need a home with a tall, secure fence and people who will keep an eye on me when I'm outside. Let's talk about food...I LOVE it! Don't worry, I'm not food aggressive at all—I just get a little too excited when it's mealtime. I even eat from a puzzle bowl because I think every meal should come with a fun challenge. I think I'd be happy with respectful kids, an active family, and people who want me to be part of their everyday life. I'm not looking to be a backyard dog—I want to be where my family is. I'll happily be your walking buddy, your couch buddy, your errand buddy...basically your everything buddy. One more thing. People sometimes get excited because I'm a doodle mix, but I hope my forever family chooses me because of who I am, not just what I look like. I'm loyal, affectionate, goofy, and ready to love my people with my whole heart. Story
Animal Profile: Buddy is a 4.5-year-old Doodle (1/2 Border Collie 1/2 Standard Poodle). He was purchased from a breeder prior to his owners having children. Buddy is a friendly but slightly anxious guy who has not adjusted well to having a toddler in the home. His family invested in a 4-week board and train with a local dog trainer in hopes that it would help Buddy feel more comfortable around small toddlers. Buddy completed his training; he has excellent house and leash manners, is house trained, crate trained; and knows the ‘place’ command. Unfortunately he was still too uncomfortable around the kids after training, and his family decided it was best to find him a new home. Buddy has been trained using balanced methods, including e collar for off leash reliability. Buddy does great at doggy daycare, but does have some resource guarding around food and select toys when it comes to other dogs. While he enjoys his dog friends, we think he’d be happiest as an only dog. Buddy has not lived with cats. Buddy is currently in foster care with a balanced trainer, and doing well. Foster Update: coming soon! Adoption Info: The adoption fee is $550 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations,  DPPV, Bordetella, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian.
