I am a 7 yr old doodle (poodle and chocolate lab) and I had always loved my "family". Even when they stopped feeding me and wanted to euthanize me because they just didn't want me around ;( But I am SURE the KARMA bus will run them over soon enuff! I am a SURVIVOR and I am with a fantabulous rescue who LOVES ME! I am running with a great group of dogs and play LOTS. I am living my best life... UNTIL YOU ADOPT ME!!! My rescue peeps will be VERY PICKY about who gets to adopt me.... because they will NEVER let me go to an abusive and neglectful home again! Duncan is a true survivor and very special dog! Duncan is a brave puppy with a big heart and an even bigger spirit! 💛 He came to us after being found as a stray with a badly broken leg—an injury that had sadly gone untreated for months. At just a few months old, Duncan had already spent half his life in pain. The Humane Society of Tacoma-Pierce County didn’t have the resources to provide the care he needed, so they reached out—and we picked him right away. Unfortunately, the damage was too extensive to repair, and Duncan underwent an amputation at the knee. The good news? Duncan is now pain-free and adjusting beautifully to life on three legs! He’s already up and moving around, and it's clear that he's been adapting for some time—he’s a resilient fella who hasn’t let anything slow him down. And can you say Team Player? The big personality of this so dedicated to life & to be adored & loved girl Miss GuiNiu, ended up in a meat market in Mudanjiang & yes you read that correctly. This beautiful girl ended up in a meat market for human consumption after a breeder had used her & then was rescued from there & ended up in another shelter. What we do know is, she was pulled out of there on deaths door with pneumonia so severe it almost took her beautiful precious life. It’s absolutely soul destroying to think about the horrific situation she ended up in. Working with one of our truly devoted, dedicated & absolutely outstanding Chinese rescuers she rescued GuiNiu & many others for us. Without this beloved rescuer going in & getting GuiNiu out, her fate was death alone just from the pneumonia. She transferred GuiNiu to her own rescue & covid had hit & the waiting began. Along with GuiNiu & many other sweet souls she got well & brought back to health which took a very long time as their immunity was so severely compromised from the condition she had been living in & waited to come to the US. This became a very extremely expensive situation with covid. We were finally able to bring everyone back through cargo which is an astronomical expense per dog, but we believe every sweet soul such as GuiNiu & her & friends deserves to be loved & cherished & given the chance to have a wonderful life. Now GuiNiu is looking for a special family to cherish her & be patient with her & remember what this beautiful soul has been through & a family that meets all her needs. GuiNiu was rescued by our truly amazing Chinese rescue friends & just as always we are beyond grateful to the Chinese rescue who we are so extremely grateful for what they do day in & day out for these babies, we cannot thank them enough. GuiNiu was bought back to the USA where she is now a US citizen & is so happy to be here & can’t wait to find her new loving devoted forever home. Considering how deathly ill GuiNiu was in China & on deaths door it’s a miracle she survived along with her friends. She also does not care about dogs or react to them when at the park. GuiNiu adores being pampered & doesn’t want you to stop when brushing her, cleaning her eyes, grooming her, she loves it all. She also does extremely well being touched in general. GuiNiu is so good with being bathed. We have had her with many breeds of dogs & she has done well with different size dogs & adores dogs so we are only looking for a home for her with another dog in the home she can play with. GuiNiu also did so well with our vets when she went & had her dental. Having toys & a warm bed is all new to GuiNiu & we have been excited to change her world with the introduction of toys & lots of love & affection & a loving environment. This little stunning lady has energy galore, bounds of fun loving energy. She is making up for lost time & who could blame her. She is good with other dogs & we have her with other dogs, in her new forever home there must be a young dog or young dogs for her to play with. GuiNiu has learnt to ride in the car & does well in the car but we always have her with other dogs when in the car. She is such an amazing soul, she will try to stick her head out of the window if you are on the outside as if to say, “why am I not out there with you, let me out, I want to be with you”. She just sits back & enjoys the journey. With GuiNiu we are only looking for a crate free home for this lovely little lady only. We are also looking for a forever home for GuiNiu where someone is home during the day or she can go with her people wherever possibly she can go with them. Once these shots expire we will only redo rabies as we will not over vaccinate our beloved dogs. We have spent far more on GuiNiu with bringing her to the US with her travel airfare costs alone bringing her through cargo was over $3000, without anything else then on top of that paying for her medical care & boarding fees, including a dental/ scale & polish, spay, shots, microchip, etc & then bringing her to WA with her transport fees than her adoption fee comes close to covering. GuiNiu has not been around cats since being in the rescue, but it’s always up to the new family to be responsible with their animals. We have not had her around small children so we do not recommend small children nor cats & it’s always up to the family to be responsible with their children & cats. We were not there when GuiNiu was conceived so we do not know who her parents were or her exact birthday & it’s always up to the new potential family to look at the pictures & decide what they think her breed is. As with all of our rescues & GuiNiu’s friends she will need work on potty training & training, so this should be something the new family would be willing to work on & commit to. She would forget to feed these beautiful souls she said & could not take care of them. 3 of them were kept in a cage at the age of 4 months & when we got them they were so extremely skinny & so matted & stunk so bad & had not been receiving any love nor care & had never ever been to a vet & were consuming their own fecis to stay alive. Yes, you did just read that correctly. We rescued a total of 7 standards from this breeder when she would allow them to leave & instantly got everyone straight to our vets. Our souls were so broken for what Tom Haverford had endured & his siblings. Tom Haverford & his siblings are all available for a loving devoted forever home now they are healthy & so very loved & the sweetest dogs you will ever meet. Tom Haverford is so now a ball of joy, fun & energy & so very spirited. Considering his past life he had to learn what it was to be in a loving foster home & the normal freedom. He had to learn to walk properly as he did not know how to from being kept in a cage with his 2 siblings. Those days are over for Tom Haverford & now he knows he can go wherever he wants. He is absolutely obsessed with his food & he will eat with his foster siblings but will want to eat all the food. Considering his past this is not surprising. At first we had to teach him not to eat his fecis as that’s all he knew to survive. We treated him for worms & giradia a few times because of this which was so very sad. Tom Haverford is still learning to walk on harness & leash considering we believe we are the first people to teach her how to go on walks but would still need to be taught. Our rescues need homes where the people are understanding of their past & what they have been through & what they will need in their daily lives & not willing to give up on them & if they do need training in their new home will in fact take them to training & not just say they will when applying. Please only submit an application if you are truly interested in adopting Lyric & going through our process and have read her listing fully to the end & are wanting to adopt. If you are not responsive to our calls, emails or your references do not respond we will move on & remove your application from our system. You must be willing to go through our screening process which includes your references being checked, a phone interview & a virtual home visit using Zoom to covid & followed by a meet and greet & if it’s a good fit, up to our discretion. We will only be accepting applications for Lyric who understands her needs & that meet all the requirements for this lovely little lady. Once we find the right home for each little soul we work fast, within days so the dogs can go to their forever homes in quite a timely manner. We do not hold onto dogs for people as our goal is to save lives & please do not submit an application if you are not ready to adopt. We also cannot respond to every application unfortunately. Animal Profile: Ramen is an estimated 4 year old, 15 lb neutered male miniature poodle who was a hot mess when he was pulled from the Carson shelter. He was at risk due to overcrowding at the shelter but assessed to be friendly with people and dogs. We will share more about him as we get to know him in foster care.    Foster Update: Ramen is a cool little cup of noodles! He has been a quick study in foster care and is crate trained, potty trained, and walks well on leash. He loves to work and train and is very smart. He catches on to new commands quickly. Ramen would do best in an adult only household, as it takes him time to warm up to strangers and he is more trusting of female companions. He has shown a tendency to resource guard when it comes to removing high value toys from his possession, but his trainer is working on tackling that behavior. Ramen is dog friendly, and would be best matched with a similar sized female dog his age. Ramen has had a lot of interest from families wanting a lap dog; he prefers to show affection through play and is not a couch potato. Ramen needs an owner comfortable addressing his guarding behaviors, willing to continue exercising his body and his mind, and able to commit to regular grooming.
