She'd been with them since she was a puppy and was clearly loved, but now she's ready for her next chapter, and we have a feeling it's going to be a great one. Since joining our foster family, Pancake has been nothing but a big love bug. She lives for human connection — give her a good scratch and she is in absolute heaven. She's incredibly well-behaved and gets along beautifully with other dogs, making her a wonderful fit for multi-dog households. Don't let her calm demeanor fool you — Pancake has a playful side too! HER STORY Princess came to us after being found injured on the 405 freeway. She had FHO surgery in January 2026 to repair her hip, and she's now in the rehabilitation phase of her recovery. She's doing beautifully and will be fully healed and ready for her forever home soon. PERSONALITY Princess is friendly, sweet, and remarkably trusting given her past. She's gentle with people, loves attention, and has that classic Great Dane "velcro dog" personality - she just wants to be near you. She's still learning what it means to be safe and loved, and she's blossoming more every day. She can be a little nervous in new situations (totally understandable), but she settles quickly with patience and gentle reassurance. She's food-motivated, treat-focused, and eager to learn. MEDICAL NOTES Princess has fully recovered from her FHO surgery and is pain-free. She walks normally and has full mobility. Her surgery site is completely healed. She's spayed, up to date on vaccines, and medically cleared for adoption. Cupcake was found wandering into someone’s driveway in Bakersfield with severely swollen eyes from a bad double eye infection. Animal Control brought her in, and shortly after, we pulled her so she could get the care and love she deserved. Since then, she’s been thriving. She gets along beautifully with other dogs and animals, shows no aggression, and truly just wants to be part of a family. She’s social, loving, and eager to play, but also happy to curl up and cuddle when the day winds down. Bonus: she doesn’t drool. Cupcake is the kind of dog who melts into you — grateful, affectionate, and full of heart.
