ABOUT LINK This gentle, giant has been overlooked for far too long! Link is a 3 year old Great Dane mix. Unfortunately, due to his size, Link has had very little adoption interest. He came to HAP from a high-intake shelter partner in Georgia when they no longer had space for him. Despite moving around a bit, Link isn't giving up on finding a loving family to call his own! He enjoys spending time in our fenced fields to get his zoomies out and play with his friends. He loves to sniff and explore too, making him the perfect adventure buddy! After some time outside, he melts into a snuggly baby and loves getting back scratches. Link is so friendly with new people, we don't understand how he hasn't been adopted yet! Link has participated in our Doggy Day Out program, take a look what our volunteers had to say about their day with him: "Link was the BEST boy this morning on our trail walk. He's a big guy, so he might look like he would be a handful, but he is the sweetest, chillest, marshmallowiest boy. He has irresistible velvety ears that he likes having rubbed. If I could have a dog, I'd be in trouble! Really hope someone adopts this sweet guy soon." "Link and I had a good, long hike today at Carousel Park! He's a handsome guy with plenty of energy. He loves to take in all the smells and sounds of outside. He knows 'sit' and will look for that tasty reward! He seemed to kind of know "come," also. Overall, he has plenty of energy for a hiking buddy and they'll be rewarded with his affection! He welcomed being pet and liked to lean on me for love!" **Link is seeking a home as your only pet. If you're interested in Link, you are welcome to submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is first-come, best-match basis. We are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in a specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children, must come for the meeting to ensure it is a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animal's spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
Scratch is a 1 year old neutered male great dane/terrier mix who weighs 85 lbs. Scratch is looking for a new home after his person was no longer able to keep him due to landlord issues. This guy has been nothing but sweet, but is clearly confused about why he isn't in his home anymore. He will need a family willing to help boost his confidence as he wasn't socialized much in his previous home. He seems to do well with other dogs and previously lived with a small dog without issue. Scratch has SO much potential and has learned so much already! He loves to be with his people and playing with toys. Fetch is his favorite game! He's done well on walks and hasn't been reactive to those he crosses paths with. He is shy with new people at first, but warms up when he's given a chance to feel safe. Scratch loves bananas and cheese, but hates peanut butter. While he loves to play in true puppy fashion, he's also an expert snuggler. Scratch has always known love from his family and cannot wait to land in another home full of kindness and people who love him. Please help us find Scratch the devoted forever family he so desperately deserves!Interested in adopting? Story
Get a load of those GIANT paws!! Golden is an 11 week old male great dane/anatolian shepherd mix puppy who weighs about 25 lbs. We feel lucky to play a role in these pups' story and help match them with loving forever families. An older couple took in a very pregnant female around the first of the year. She had roamed their neighborhood as a stray for days, and it became evident she had been dumped. Mom is black with a little bit of white with a smooth coat and weighs at least 90 lbs. This sweet couple proclaimed themselves to be cat people, but also animal lovers. They took her in and cleared out their entire living room to make a nursery. She delivered eight puppies on January 12th. Homes were found for 4 of the puppies, leaving these four to us. This little family has been so loved! Time came for the puppies to leave their mama and give her time to herself without babies to tend to. As we stood outside the baby gate, watching them play, you would've thought we were standing at the hospital window looking at human newborns. The couple called each of them by their name, which, except for Firstborn, matched some physical characteristic they had. Anyone who has taken care of a litter of puppies gets that. They referred to them with so much love and affection. Saying goodbye to these babies was very difficult for the couple who cared so delicately and deeply for this little family. But knowing they are the biggest reason these puppies have a chance at the lives they deserve makes the heartache worth the journey. Each of these puppies was loved, socialized, and doted on. They are going to be big dogs with the sweetest personalities. They'd love to have other dogs to grow up with and learn from in their forever homes. We are committed to finding these pups homes just as loving as their saviors were. Please help us match them with the forever families they so desperately deserve! Interested in adopting?
