Story
🐾 Meet Robin — 62 lbs of Giant, Goofy Love!
Robin is an 11-month-old male Great Dane mix who has been waiting far too long for his forever family. ❤️
Robin’s story started in a South Texas shelter, where 11 puppies were owner-surrendered and scheduled to be euthanized. Sadly, two puppies passed away before volunteers could reach them. The remaining puppies were bottle-fed and lovingly cared for, and one by one, they all found wonderful homes.
Everyone except Robin.
Through absolutely no fault of his own, this sweet boy has now been waiting 11 months for the family who will see just how special he is.
Robin is loyal, loving, incredibly friendly, social, goofy, gentle, playful, and fun-loving. He has never met a stranger and truly doesn’t seem to have a mean bone in his body. He is wonderful with children and has that classic giant-baby personality — he just happens to be a very big baby!
💙 Robin’s Personality
Robin is an energetic, happy boy who loves life. He gets the zoomies, loves running around, and absolutely LOVES water. Give him a kiddie pool and he'll happily run in, splash around, run back out, and repeat!
He's also wonderfully affectionate and loves being around his people. He's quite vocal too — you could say Robin likes to talk back! He'll happily tell you all about his day, including every squirrel he spotted.
And then there's his signature greeting…

He's still learning that not everyone wants a 62-lb puppy launching himself at them. At the vet, he got so excited that he accidentally knocked over a nurse's computer. Thankfully, his adorable personality apparently earned him a pass! But his jumping is something his new family will need to work on with consistent, positive training.
🐕 Other Dogs
Robin loves other dogs and would ideally have a canine companion who enjoys playing with a big, goofy adolescent.
If he isn't living with another dog, his family should be committed to providing regular opportunities for appropriate socialization and play — such as doggy daycare or dog parks where suitable and safe for him.
🚗 Adventures & Training
Robin is leash trained, although he still pulls and is learning that a harness makes walks much easier.
He's also crate trained and mostly house trained. Like any young dog, he'll need consistency and reminders while he settles into a new home.
Robin would make an excellent adventure buddy. He loves car rides, doesn't get carsick, and would happily join his family for road trips and new adventures.
🏡 Robin’s Ideal Home
Robin's perfect home is one that understands that this giant boy is still just a puppy.
His family should be prepared for:
Plenty of daily exercise and activity
Continued leash and manners training
Working on his jumping and polite greetings
Consistency with house training
Mental stimulation as well as physical exercise
A family who enjoys an active, playful dog
Lots of love, patience, and structure
Ideally, another friendly, playful dog — or a commitment to providing regular appropriate dog socialization
Robin is not a couch potato, but after he's had his exercise and playtime, he's perfectly happy to settle down with his people.
He is a giant, goofy, affectionate baby who just wants a family to love, adventures to share, and someone willing to teach him how to be the best version of himself.
After everything Robin has been through, he deserves a family who will finally make him theirs for good. ❤️

This doggy is spayed/neutered, heart worm negative, current on age-appropriate vaccinations, current on flea/tick and heart worm prevention, microchipped, current on de-wormer, and will receive a clean bill of health from a licensed veterinarian prior to transport.
This animal is currently located in Texas, but we do NOT adopt animals in Texas due to the hundreds of animals being euthanized here daily. We have mainly adopted only in the Northeast but are expanding to include Midwest and PNW starting in September of 2026
The adoption fee listed ($525) INCLUDES transport from Texas to one or around one of the locations below.

We have happily adopted hundreds of animals this way (long distance), and we do our best to make sure the animal you are applying for is the best fit for your home. With an approved application, we do put you in touch with the Texas foster who has the doggy for you to make sure they are the perfect fit.
