Story
Penelope is a 2 year old spayed female great dane who weighs 115 pounds. She was rescued after being abandoned and later surprised us with a litter of puppies. She is a giant puppy who is a bit timid until she gets to know you and would do best in a home without kids due to her being startled easily. She has tested well with other dogs, but appears that she has never been in a home and can be a bit much, so might do best as an only dog. She cannot go to a home with cats. No exceptions. If you are interested in adopting, please submit an adoption application on our website www.justice-rescue.comJustice Rescue - 17663Malvern, PA 19355

Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.

Story
💕Meet Harriet!!!💕 This irresistibly adorable Great Dane puppy is on the hunt for her forever home. Harriet was born in our care after her Mama (Harley) was surrendered by a commercial breeder. Harriet is the sweetest puppy you will meet. At 6 weeks old and almost 16 lbs., she is going to be anything but little. Harriet is a typical puppy… sleeping, eating, playing, pooping and repeat. She is very sweet and loving but also already in the ankle biting stage with her little shark teeth🦈. She is super curious about her surroundings and enjoys exploring. She loves to steal slippers and pretty much anything else she can get her little chompers on. She has been doing well with redirection to an appropriate item to carry around and chew on. She enjoys playing with toys of all sorts of textures. She gets along great with the other dogs in her foster home, both bigger and smaller than her. She enjoys tumbling around with the other dogs or just curling up with them for a nap. Harriet also loves to be held and will snuggle into you before falling asleep for a little nap. 😴 She has been around cats and has shown no interest in them currently. She has only been around older teenaged children. She is currently being kept in an open xpen at night or when her foster mom is not home. She does vocalize that she is not happy about being in her pen in a room away from all the action but does settle down after a little while. She is being spoiled with the “alexa” always playing something for her, from white noise and classical music to todays top hits. And a little treat always helps to make things a little better when its quite time. Which Harriet is VERY food motivated. She is a little piggy when it is time to eat, she would try to steal her mama’s dry kibble. Harriet is currently on a mixture of wet food and large breed puppy kibble and loving every bite. Harriet is already microchipped and has her first round of age-appropriate vaccinations. Based on when she is adopted will determine if she will receive another round of vaccinations while still in foster care or if her forever home will need to finish her vaccines that will be spread out over the coming months. Harriet is way to young to be fixed and will be adopted out on a spay contract. The spay contract comes with an additional fee on top of the adoption fee and states that at the age of one year old Harriet will need to be spayed and have gastropexy surgery, this is nonnegotiable. The additional fee will be refunded once the surgeries are completed per the contract. Harriet’s ideal forever home will have large breed experiences and the understanding of what it costs to keep and properly care for a dog of this breed and size. No apartments for this sweet girl, she will need a home with plenty of room for her to spread out. A fence is not required but always appreciated. And the same goes for another dog, it’s always nice to have a playmate but not a deal breaker. 🐾If you think this adorable “little” girl would make the perfect addition to your family apply today!!!!🐾 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨Harriet will not be adopted out until she is at least 8 weeks old. We are opening applications at this time in hopes to have her forever family lined up for when she is old enough to go to her new home. 🚨🚨🚨🚨🚨 Meet and greets will take place in Berks County and all family members including current residential dogs will need to attend. We will only consider adopters within a 2 hour radius. www.zoeshouserescue.com Zoe’s House Kennel #9117 Sinking Spring, PA 19608

Story
Jade is a stunning blue 6 year old Great Dane with soulful eyes, the softest heart, and the best floppy ears you’ve ever seen. On the petite side for a Dane at about 100 pounds, she’s basically the perfect “lap dog”… if your lap happens to be the size of a couch. After spending her early life being used for breeding, Jade was rescued and is now fully embracing the freedom and love she always deserved. Watching her discover the joys of being someone’s loved pet instead of a breeder has been nothing short of beautiful. Jade is the sweetest, most cuddly girl. If you love big pup snuggles, warm leaning hugs, and a constant companion who thinks personal space is overrated, she is absolutely your girl. Her ideal family won’t mind sharing the couch… or the bed… or both. Like many Great Danes, Jade can be a little nervous when meeting new people or navigating new environments. She just needs a moment to take it all in. Once she realizes she’s safe, she warms up quickly and becomes your loyal shadow. She is: *Great with other dogs *Good with kids *Likely fine with cats (though she hasn’t met one yet) *Potty trained (though some regression can happen during transitions) *Crate trained and comfortable in a gated room when left alone *A dream on leash and loves her walks Jade did have surgeries to remove benign growths on both front feet, but she has healed beautifully and is ready to move forward without looking back. Her ideal home would include a fenced yard, as she appreciates having a secure space and privacy when she does her business. More than anything, she’s looking for a calm, loving home that understands she’s had a big life before this and deserves nothing but softness from here on out. Jade is spayed and up to date on all core vaccinations and preventatives. Adopters must live within 2-3 hours of Reading, PA and be willing to travel there for a meet and greet if selected. BONDED PAIR WITH LULU! PLEASE SEE LISTING FOR LULU! LULU AND DUKE MAY POTENTIALLY BE ADOPTED SEPARATELY, BUT IT IS PREFERRED THAT THEY ARE ADOPTED TOGETHER! Duke and Lulu are a bonded pair who came into rescue following the death of their owner and loss of their home. As expected after all the changes in their environment and family dynamic the past six months, they seek lots of attention. Both are affectionate, playful and eager to please and would do well in a structured environment with humans who can give them the time and attention they need. Duke seems to be the strong silent type – sitting back observing and taking his cues from Lulu. He warms up right away, while she needs a little time to get comfortable with new people. Both travel in the car extremely well, are crate trained, and have lived peacefully with several inside/outside cats. Their roommates/caretakers report they have high prey drive and do not like Chihuahuas. As far as exposure to children, they have only encountered a 12YO nephew a few times. They both listen considerably well, but could use general manners reinforcement and leash work. If you’re looking to add a pair of loveable, entertaining, in-your-face Danes to your family, then these two are for you! Stay tuned for updates. Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption. DUKE UPDATE APRIL 2026 Duke has been moved to a NJ foster home and will begin treatment for heartworm, sadly Duke tested positive for Heartworm but not to worry, he will start treatment soon and then will be ready for adoption! Duke is a lovely boy, so friendly and a cuddle bug. He is being spoiled in his foster home until he starts the injections to kill the heartworms, then will have to go on crate rest. Fortunately, Duke is crate trained and learning to walk nicely on a leash. His first vet visit went well, he made lots of friends at his new vet office. Keep your eye on this one, once ready, Duke will be an amazing addition to any home. For more information on this dog and our adoption policies, visit MAGDRL at https://www.magdrl.org.
