Story
Meet Tank!Tank is a young Great Dane with a heart just as big as his paws. He hasn’t had the easiest start in life (he came to us through our Animal Law Enforcement team in rough shape), but despite everything he’s been through, Tank’s spirit shines. This big guy is a fun, goofy puppy who loves to be silly and soak up attention. He`s currently living in a foster home where he is learning all of his manners and being the best boy. He loves playing with toys and often gets the zoomies, but is happy to cuddle in bed after.Tank is considered special needs and is looking for a truly special home. He has visual and hearing impairments, along with significant orthopedic disease affecting his legs. He will require ongoing, lifelong veterinary care and a family committed to helping him live his best, most comfortable life. He’s open to meeting savvy kids who understand how to safely interact with a large, bouncy dog, and he may do well with calm canine companions who respect his space and mobility needs.Tank may need a little more - but he gives a whole lot back. For the right person, he’ll be an incredibly loyal, loving friend and a daily reminder of resilience, joy, and unconditional love. Please email adoptions@pspca.org if you’d like to meet him!_______________The Pennsylvania SPCA350 E Erie Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19134Kennel #3079

Story
Clyde is a 7-month-old Great Dane mix with all the lovable Dane qualities—big, goofy, silly, and oh-so-happy! This handsome boy came to us as a stray and is ready to find a family of his own.Clyde is still a big puppy and is working on learning his basic commands. He’ll need a family committed to continuing his training and giving him the structure and guidance a growing pup needs. A fenced yard is a must for Clyde so he has plenty of room to safely run and stretch those long legs. He would enjoy having another dog friend, but it’s not required. Because of his size and energy, any children in the home should be 10 or older. Large breed or Great Dane experience is preferred.Clyde is a happy, lovable goofball who’s ready to learn, play, and become someone’s very best friend.

Story
PA Kennel License #5254Wags Rescue & ReferralSouthampton Pa 18966 Originated from ACCT KL 08313 Hi, Im Nala Skye and YES, I AM your best friend. Im a large breed, old soul with mysterious ancestry and excellent emotional intelligence. Think Labrador meets Dane (maybe Mastiff?) meets a wise aunt whos seen some things and keeps the good snacks in her purse. My name is Nala, which means Queen, Protector, and Skye Protected by the Sky.No pressure, right? Every Queen, Protector Spirit should also feel protected by the sky. But honestly, it fits. Ive got a calm, stoic, dignified way about me and a voice that kindly announces, Dog on duty. Im a good judge of character, and most people and dogs get my quiet approval. I often look like Im sitting on a throne, except the throne is your couch and Im politely asking if I can hold your hand. I keep a gentle watch over my people. I like to know where you are, just in case you need moral support or a paw to hold. I walk nicely on a leash, I like being clean, but I drool around snacks. Im more of a deep-breaths dog than a zoom-around-the-house dog. Some things still make me nervous. Once a neighbor carried a car scraper nearby and I dropped to the ground nervously shaking. But even when Im scared, sweetness wins. Every day I feel a little safer, a little lighter, a little more like the dog I was meant to be. Important facts about me: Im around 7 years old wise, not chaotic. I arrived at 55 lbs and too skinny, currently starring in my glow-up era. I love car rides and sit like a dignified passenger princess. I can be anxious around some people and dogs. I might bark or growl if I am not certain about someone but if you tell me it's okay, more and more I am learning to relax and know who I can trust. I bond especially with calm, gentle humans. I can play while lying down efficiency is my brand. I used to sleep in a crate and was very polite about it, but Im such a good communicator I dont really need it. Ill just look at the door like, Excuse me, front desk? Bathroom please. I may even give tasteful commentary. Favorite things: presence, I look asleep but Im actually supervising life being near you, always cuddling in a dignified, paw-holding way calm conversations quietly protecting the vibes My signature move is handing you my paw. Then the other paw. Then back again. If youve ever wanted a dog who will hold your hand through life, congratulations, youve found her. Im am spayed and looking for my forever person. If you want a gentle giant with an old soul, a soft protective streak, and endless love, Im right here, probably already holding out my paw. BONDED PAIR WITH LULU! PLEASE SEE LISTING FOR LULU! LULU AND DUKE MAY POTENTIALLY BE ADOPTED SEPARATELY, BUT IT IS PREFERRED THAT THEY ARE ADOPTED TOGETHER! Duke and Lulu are a bonded pair who came into rescue following the death of their owner and loss of their home. As expected after all the changes in their environment and family dynamic the past six months, they seek lots of attention. Both are affectionate, playful and eager to please and would do well in a structured environment with humans who can give them the time and attention they need. Duke seems to be the strong silent type – sitting back observing and taking his cues from Lulu. He warms up right away, while she needs a little time to get comfortable with new people. Both travel in the car extremely well, are crate trained, and have lived peacefully with several inside/outside cats. Their roommates/caretakers report they have high prey drive and do not like Chihuahuas. As far as exposure to children, they have only encountered a 12YO nephew a few times. They both listen considerably well, but could use general manners reinforcement and leash work. If you’re looking to add a pair of loveable, entertaining, in-your-face Danes to your family, then these two are for you! Stay tuned for updates. Please include your home area code and a phone number where a volunteer can reach you when contacting us about an adoption. DUKE UPDATE APRIL 2026 Duke has been moved to a NJ foster home and will begin treatment for heartworm, sadly Duke tested positive for Heartworm but not to worry, he will start treatment soon and then will be ready for adoption! Duke is a lovely boy, so friendly and a cuddle bug. He is being spoiled in his foster home until he starts the injections to kill the heartworms, then will have to go on crate rest. Fortunately, Duke is crate trained and learning to walk nicely on a leash. His first vet visit went well, he made lots of friends at his new vet office. Keep your eye on this one, once ready, Duke will be an amazing addition to any home. For more information on this dog and our adoption policies, visit MAGDRL at https://www.magdrl.org. Story
This friend has just arrived because their owner could no longer keep them. While owners can provide some history on their pets, our medical and behavioral teams will still evaluate them. Dogs that have lived in homes previously typically have some training established, but we cannot guarantee that those behaviors will remain consistent in a new home environment. They are pending interactions with other animals at the shelter until they have been cleared by our vet. Our staff will spend some time getting to know them and we will update their bio with more information as we learn. If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. If you are interested in this specific dog but it ends up not being the best fit upon meeting, our adoption counselors will work with you to help find a match! All household members, including children and other dogs, must come along for the meeting to make sure it's a good fit. If a match is made, we encourage same-day adoptions! Our adoption fees include the animals' spay/neuter, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and preventatives, fecal testing, heartworm testing, and a small bag of food to get you started.
