ABOUT MINOS This big boy is a 4-year-old shepherd mix, weighing roughly 90 lbs. Minos came to HAP from San Antonio, Texas, following the devastating floods. While we aren't too sure of his past, Minos is definitely a more lowkey pup. He has a quiet confidence and a strong sense of independence. He enjoys doing his own thing and prefers to take his time when getting to know new people. Once he gets to know you and feels comfortable, Minos shows his affectionate side. He would thrive in a home that respects his need for personal space and understands that not every dog wants constant attention. Minos enjoys calm walks, lounging in cozy spots, and observing the world around him. He’s the perfect companion for someone who appreciates a more low-key, respectful relationship with their dog. If you're looking for a loyal companion who values independence just like you do, Minos might be your perfect match! If you are interested in adopting this dog, please submit an adoption questionnaire! Our adoption process is on a first-come, best-match basis and we are not able to hold animals. Rex is looking for a special home. He is part of a group of dogs all coming from the same home where they all lived outside and where very under socialized. We also now know there were occasional fights for food so we are listing him as no other dogs so he can live competition free. He is truly a gentle giant. He is a fish out of water here in the shelter. Everyone is showing him love and attention, but he isn`t sure what to make of that. He is definitely enjoying it. HIs future adopter has to keep all of this in mind and show Rex how great life can truly be. Things another dog finds normal are all strange to Rex. He has learned to walk nicely on leash but must be double leashed just in case something startles him. Staff would be happy to advise his potential adopter on tips and tricks to help Rex adjust to his new lifestyle.
