Hi, I’m Scarlett and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Scarlett Location: Brighton, IL. Date of Birth: 06/24/2025 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Harlequin Dog's Weight: 95 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Car: Rides will in the car Meet Scarlett Scarlett is the sweetest combination of puppy love and puppy play — there truly is no in-between with this girl! It’s either snuggled up on the couch soaking in all the affection she can get, or full-speed zoomies in the yard with her new best friend. She adores her people and bonds quickly, but she’s just as happy romping around and turning playtime into her own personal WWE match. Scarlett would thrive in a home with another large, playful dog. She has absolutely no idea she’s a “big booty Judy” and plays with joyful enthusiasm, so a confident canine companion who can match her energy is a must. A fenced yard would be ideal so she can safely burn off that puppy energy and enjoy her daily zoom sessions. Her perfect adopter will appreciate giant breed antics — including the occasional wet floors after a drink, slobbery walls, and a couch that sometimes doubles as a wrestling ring. If you’re hoping to keep everything spotless, Scarlett may not be your girl! Because she’s still very much a puppy at heart (and height!), Scarlett will benefit greatly from continued basic obedience training. She’s already realized that counters and tables are eye-level and she can get to the “goodies,” so guidance and consistency will help her channel her smarts in the right direction. Scarlett will do well with an experienced giant breed owner or a first-time giant owner who is prepared for the size, strength, and joyful chaos that comes with loving a big dog. In return, she’ll give you endless laughter, oversized cuddles, and a best friend for life. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Hi, I’m Savannah and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Savannah Location:  Oak Park, IL Date of Birth: 03/01/2021 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Harlequiin Dog's Weight: 98 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  All Cats Kids?: All kids Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command - whines a bit, but settles easily Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car . Knows basic commands (sit, down, out, off, come). Meet Savannah Savannah is a sweet, gentle soul who is still settling in and showing more of her personality each day. While she’s learning that she’s safe and loved, her foster has already discovered that Savannah has a thoughtful and curious nature. She enjoys quiet moments around the house but also loves engaging her mind with fun activities. One of Savannah’s most endearing traits is her adorable little “grumbles.” She does them when she stretches, when she’s settling in for a cozy nap, and even when she’s feeling a little impatient and wants her person to hurry up! It’s her charming way of communicating and adds so much personality to this lovely girl. Savannah is a thinker and loves activities that engage her nose and mind. She enjoys games like hide-and-seek, digging in appropriate spots, playing “tug games,” chasing a laser pointer, and simply sitting by the window to watch the world go by. She also responds very well to enrichment activities — when she gets the opportunity to work her brain and explore, she relaxes and settles beautifully afterward. Because Savannah appears to have traits of a working breed mix, her ideal home will be one that enjoys providing enrichment and mental stimulation. Activities like scent work, puzzle toys, and digging games would be perfect for her. A yard would be wonderful so she can sniff and explore, but it’s not required as long as she receives regular enrichment and opportunities to engage her curious mind. Savannah may also enjoy having another friendly dog in the home to play with, although she is still getting to know other dogs. Most importantly, she’s looking for a patient, attentive family who understands that decompression takes time and who will help her continue building confidence in her new life. With the right home, Savannah will blossom into a loyal companion who brings gentle affection, quirky grumbles, and endless curiosity to her forever family. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Hi, I’m Valor and I’m new to the rescue.  I'm on a medical hold while I receive some needed treatment.  Soon I'll be ready for my forever home so please click adopt to get your application approved. Dog’s Name: Valor Location:  Yorkville, Il. Date of Birth: 02/12/2024 Gender: Male Breed: Great Dane Color: Brindle Dog's Weight: 110 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats: Unknown Kids: Yes Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car Meet Valor – Your Gentle Giant with a Heart of Gold! Valor is an extremely loving Great Dane with a personality just as big as he is. This handsome boy absolutely adores his people and thrives on being part of the family. Whether he’s joining you for a walk ‍, hopping into the dog van for a ride , or simply leaning in for affection (and yes — he is a big leaner!), Valor just wants to be close to those he loves. One of Valor’s favorite pastimes is stretching out in a fenced yard and basking in the sunshine . A secure fenced yard is a must for this big guy, as he truly enjoys having space to relax and safely explore. He also accompanies his person to work and happily greets customers with a wag and a smile, showing off his gentle and friendly nature. Valor is a sensitive soul who bonds deeply with his family. He needs a home that will give him time to feel safe, secure, and comfortable as he settles in. Once he trusts you, his loving personality shines through in the sweetest ways. Because of his calm and gentle temperament, he could be a wonderful fit for a first-time Dane family — as long as they’re steady on their feet and ready for those full-body Dane leans! A confident canine companion could be a wonderful bonus for Valor, helping him continue to build confidence. Ongoing training will also help him thrive and strengthen his bond with his new family. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, affectionate, sunshine-loving gentle giant into your home, Valor is waiting to lean into your heart forever. Story
Meet Little Debbie, a 1-year-old Great Dane mix who comes with two modes: sweet snack-sized puppy and her fabulous alter ego, Big Debra, Queen of the Gentle Giants. At 115 pounds of love, legs, and enthusiastic lean-ins, this girl has quickly become a staff and volunteer favorite. Honestly, how could she not? Little Debbie is a kind, affectionate soul who firmly believes she’s a lapdog. She rides beautifully in the car and once gently rested her enormous head on the driver’s shoulder after her request to ride shotgun was politely declined. Personal space is more of a suggestion in Debbie’s world. Because of her size and playful enthusiasm, Little Debbie would do best in a home with kids over the age of 10. She’s a joyful, bouncy girl who doesn’t always realize just how big she is. The same goes for her dog friends. She’ll do best with other playful dogs who can match her energy and enjoy a good romp. This stunning girl does still need some work on her leash manners. She’s very strong, so her future family will need to feel confident handling a giant breed. The good news? She’s bright, eager to please, and with a little guidance she’ll grow into an incredible companion. If you’re ready to welcome a loving, goofy, heart-melting giant into your home and don’t mind the occasional Big Debra moment, Little Debbie is ready to make your life a whole lot sweeter. Her minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
