Hi, I’m Dudley and I'm ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Dudley Location: Wadesville, IN Date of Birth: 03/16/2023 Gender: Male Breed: Great Dane Color: Black Dog's Weight: 108 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  Dudley does not live with cats in his foster home, however the shelter he was rescued from said he gets a long with cats. Kids?: Unknown Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Dudley Dudley is a truly sweet and gentle boy who is ready to find a patient, loving home where he can feel safe and secure. He has a soft, sensitive nature and quickly bonds with his people—especially women, whom he absolutely adores. Once he trusts you, Dudley will happily follow you around and be right by your side through all of life’s moments. Dudley loves other dogs and makes fast friends with his canine companions. He enjoys being part of the action and was happiest sitting right alongside his foster family while they planted trees—just content to be included. He’s also a wonderful travel buddy and does amazing on car rides. Because of his past, Dudley is very nervous around men and will back away or run if approached too quickly. He is not aggressive in any way—just very submissive and unsure. He will need an adopter who understands his history and is committed to slow, positive introductions to help him build trust and confidence over time. Due to his timid nature, a securely fenced yard is important so he can feel safe while outside. Dudley would thrive in a calm, understanding home that will give him the time and reassurance he needs to blossom. With patience and love, Dudley will reward his forever family with unwavering loyalty, gentle companionship, and a heart full of love. Hi, I’m Ernie and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Ernie Location: Elmhurst, IL Date of Birth: 04/10/2021 Gender: Male Breed: Daniff Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 90 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?: Unknown Kids?: Unknown Training: Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command  Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents  Car - Rides well in the car Meet Ernie! Ernie is a happy, easygoing boy who has settled comfortably into home life and is ready to find his forever family. He is fully potty trained and has great house manners, making him a wonderful companion right from the start. Ernie absolutely loves being petted and spending time with his people—he’s the kind of dog who just wants to be near his humans and soak up all the affection he can get. Ernie is still working on his leash skills, so walks are a work in progress. He does have a bit of a prey drive—especially when it comes to squirrels—so a secure, fenced-in yard is strongly recommended to give him a safe space to run and explore. He’s also continuing to build his confidence and skills with ongoing obedience training, and he’ll benefit from a family committed to helping him keep learning. Because Ernie is still being introduced to other dogs, we’re learning more about his preferences, but thoughtful, proper introductions will be important. His ideal adopter will be patient, consistent, and ready to guide him as he continues to grow. Ernie could be a great match for someone willing to put in a little training while enjoying all the love and companionship he has to offer. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate dog who will happily be your shadow, Ernie might be your perfect match! Hi, I’m Paprika and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Paprika Location: New Smyrna Beach, FL Date of Birth: 1/20/2020 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Black Dog's Weight: 130 Gets along with: Dogs?: MUST utilize a slow introduction with dogs Cats?:  None Kids?:  Unknown Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Startles easily, but rides Well in car once she settles in Meet Paprika Paprika is a sensitive, intelligent, and affectionate Great Dane who is learning to navigate the world with growing confidence. She is a thoughtful and observant girl who forms strong bonds with her people and enjoys being close, often relaxing nearby once she feels safe and secure. Paprika thrives in a calm, structured environment where routines are predictable and expectations are clear, helping her feel comfortable and confident in her surroundings. She is very trainable and has already been making wonderful progress. Paprika responds well to cues like “let’s go” and “touch,” shows great check-in behavior, and is learning how to disengage from things that may initially make her unsure. While she can be sensitive to sudden movements, close proximity, or new situations, she is learning to recover more quickly with calm, consistent guidance and reassurance. Paprika is dog-selective and still in training. She can be reactive (barking or lunging) when dogs are too close or if she is surprised, but she is showing steady improvement. At a distance, she is able to observe calmly, disengage, and respond to cues. She is not currently appropriate for direct dog interactions, but she is learning to stay regulated and composed around other dogs. Paprika does best with a balanced routine that includes short walks, structured outings, and plenty of downtime. After activity or training, she settles in nicely and enjoys relaxing on her bed or quietly near her people. She would do best in a quieter home with a patient adopter who understands her need for consistency and is committed to continuing her confidence-building journey. With time, structure, and gentle leadership, Paprika will blossom into an incredibly loyal, loving, and rewarding companion. An adoption counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH! adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and/or a leash to pick up and their ID. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. Cats and kittens are required to leave in a pet carrier. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). We will take a "Happy Adoption Day” photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart – Bloomington, IL: Park in the PetSmart (1606 E. Story
Dudley is a big boy, who already weighs well over a whopping 65lbs and of course still growing. This sweet boy is the definition of "Baby Huey". He is all puppy heart and happiness but he hasn't quite figured out just how big he is yet. Dudley is playful, goofy and full of love. He adores people and wants to be right in the middle of whatever is going on. He was picked up along with his brother by animal control and wound up at our vet's office. The vet believes they are Labrador and Great Dane. I don't have any trouble believing it because he is BIG. They do not need to be adopted together. Dudley has recently been neutered, is up to date on vaccines and on heartworm, flea and tick prevention. We encourage adopters to read profiles fully and reach out with any questions — we are always happy to help. Inquiries through the site are not consistently coming through. If you send an inquiry and we do not answer the same day, we didn't get it. You can use our direct email at atasnp@gmail.com or text/call 469-241-0000. Fathers are rarely known, and litters can have multiple fathers, meaning puppies may be half-siblings with different breed mixes.
