Story
Hi, I’m Savannah and I’m ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Savannah Location:  Oak Park, IL Date of Birth: 03/01/2021 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Mix Color: Merle Dog's Weight: 90 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs Cats?:  All Cats Kids?: All kids Training: Leash Trained - walks loose leash Crate Trained - goes to crate/kennel on command - whines a bit, but settles easily Potty Trained - indicates need to potty and doesn't have indoor accidents Car - Rides well in the car . Knows basic commands (sit, down, out, off, come). Meet Savannah Savannah is a sweet, gentle soul who is still settling in and showing more of her personality each day. While she’s learning that she’s safe and loved, her foster has already discovered that Savannah has a thoughtful and curious nature. She enjoys quiet moments around the house but also loves engaging her mind with fun activities. Savannah loves long walks, forest preserve hikes, and outdoor adventures, wwimming and soaking up the sunshine, using her nose (sniffing and exploring is her favorite job!), people watching from the porch, sleeping in bed with her humans, and playing tug, hide-and-seek, and other fun enrichment games.   She's not so fond of scary storms, being bored (this girl likes to stay busy!),  fish (hard pass!) and sleeping in—she’s ready to start the day! Savannah is very responsive and will go into her crate on command without hesitation. She may whine if left crated for longer than about 30 minutes, though she sometimes settles in with time. She also hops into the car willingly, but can feel a bit nervous during rides, occasionally trembling or panting as she adjusts. One of Savannah’s most charming quirks is her adorable “grumbles”—little happy sounds that resemble purring when she’s stretching, settling in, or politely reminding you it’s time for her next activity. It’s guaranteed to make you smile every day. Savannah is wonderfully adaptable and would do well in many types of homes. A yard would be a bonus (she loves being outside!), but not required as long as she gets her daily adventures. She’d enjoy having a doggy sibling to play with, but she’s just as happy being your one-and-only. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving, and slightly goofy best friend who will keep you active and fill your home with love (and adorable grumbles), Savannah might just be your perfect match. Ready to meet your new adventure buddy? Savannah is waiting for you! Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Hi, I’m Cooper and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Cooper Location: Carol Stream, IL Date of Birth: 10/29/2022 Gender: Male Breed: Great Dane Color: Harlequin Dog's Weight: 140 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  All Cats  Kids?:  Unknown Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in car Cooper truly lives up to the title of gentle giant. With his sweet soul and loving nature, he has quickly shown that his favorite place in the world is right by his people. He absolutely adores humans and has done wonderfully with everyone he’s met (ages 17+), and he gets along well with other animals too. While he enjoys a good rope toy or a squeaky now and then, Cooper is happiest simply being close to his humans. Cooper is still learning that it’s okay to be on his own. Right now, he does experience separation anxiety and becomes distressed when his person leaves. His foster is actively working with him—starting with short absences—and he’s already making small steps in the right direction. Because of this, Cooper is not quite ready for adoption just yet, but he is well on his way with the right continued support and patience. At this time, we’re still learning what his ideal home setup looks like. Check  back often to learn how Cooper is settling into his foster home. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Hi, I’m Charlie and I’m ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Charlie Location:  Bartlett, IL Date of Birth: 03/21/2022 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Harlequin Dog's Weight: Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Charlie – Your Fun-Loving, Smart Companion Charlie is a wonderful mix of playful energy and loving companionship, ready to find a home that will help her shine! She’s the kind of dog who thrives when she has both physical activity and mental stimulation built into her daily routine. With a semi-active lifestyle, Charlie will be right in her element—whether that’s going for walks, enjoying playtime, or engaging in training sessions that challenge her mind. She’s a smart girl who benefits from structure and consistency, and she’ll reward her people with loyalty and love. Charlie has done very well with other dogs in her foster home. She gets along nicely with the resident female dog when fed separately and coexists beautifully overall. She has also previously lived with another Great Dane around her age, so she would likely enjoy having a medium-energy canine companion to share her days with .  Charlie has not been tested with cats. Charlie is ready to bring joy, fun, and companionship into the right home. With a little guidance and a lot of love, she’s going to make an incredible addition to her forever family Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Larry is a 2 year old black and white Great Dane. He is currently 120 pounds but his ideal weight is 132 pounds. When he was taken from a home in southern Indiana due to neglect in January, he was only about 80 pounds. He is very food motivated and requires a slow feeder dish. He is mostly housebroken but has marked occasionally in his foster home. He is good with large and small dogs but may benefit from a female friend - the marking may be a result of another male dog in the house. He would also do well as an only dog. We are not aware how he would do with cats but has a low prey drive and is very curious and friendly. He is neutered and up to date on all his vaccines. Larry wants to be with his people, has mastered the Dane lean, and wants nothing more than to cuddle with you. He is crated when no one is home and does not seem to mind. Due to his size, living with adults or children 12 and over is recommended. Larry rides well in the car, knows how to sit and shake, is still learning what toys are and is an absolute love bug. He walks well in a harness and will need continued training to blossom into his best self. A benign growth was removed from his back left foot and is healing well. If you are looking for a loyal dog who is happy to play outside, explore on walks with you, or just chill in the house and snuggle, Larry is your guy! If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming

She’s curious, observant, and sweet, often watching before jumping in. She enjoys gentle affection and will happily curl up once her wiggles are out. She’s the kind of puppy who will thrive with structure, routine, and positive reinforcement. Daisy will grow into a fun, steady companion who brings joy without chaos.
