Hi, I’m Dudley.   I’m not quite ready to be adopted, but you can come back here occasionally to check my progress and find out when to submit an application. Dog’s Name: Dudley Location: Wadesville, IN Date of Birth: 03/16/2023 Gender: Male Breed: Great Dane Color: Black Dog's Weight: 108 Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Dudley Dudley is a super sweet boy.  He has a gentle, affectionate nature and forms strong bonds once he feels comfortable.  He seems to have a soft spot for women and may take a little extra time to warm up to men, but with patience and kindness, Dudley’s loving personality really shines through.   Dudley also has a fun, playful side! He loves toys and enjoys playtime, making him a great mix of cuddly companion and playful pup. Because he forms such strong bonds, Dudley would do best with an adopter who is patient during the initial adjustment period and understands that building trust takes time. Once that connection is made, he will reward you with endless affection and loyalty. We are still learning what Dudley’s ideal home looks like in terms of other dogs and environment, but his sweet nature makes him a wonderful candidate for a variety of homes willing to give him the love and security he deserves. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will truly become your shadow and your best friend, Dudley might be your perfect match. Hi, I’m Cooper and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Cooper Location: Carol Stream, IL Date of Birth: 10/29/2022 Gender: Male Breed: Great Dane Color: Harlequin Dog's Weight: 140 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  All Cats  Kids?:  Unknown Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car: Rides well in car Cooper truly lives up to the title of gentle giant. With his sweet soul and loving nature, he has quickly shown that his favorite place in the world is right by his people. He absolutely adores humans and has done wonderfully with everyone he’s met (ages 17+), and he gets along well with other animals too. While he enjoys a good rope toy or a squeaky now and then, Cooper is happiest simply being close to his humans. Cooper is still learning that it’s okay to be on his own. Right now, he does experience separation anxiety and becomes distressed when his person leaves. His foster is actively working with him—starting with short absences—and he’s already making small steps in the right direction. Because of this, Cooper is not quite ready for adoption just yet, but he is well on his way with the right continued support and patience. At this time, we’re still learning what his ideal home setup looks like. Check  back often to learn how Cooper is settling into his foster home. Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. To apply to adopt from Just Giants Rescue fill out an online. Hi, I’m Sadie and I’m new to the rescue. I am currently decompressing and getting used to my foster family. Check back as my foster family learns more about me! Dog’s Name: Sadie Location: McHenry Date of Birth: 03/15/2023 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Fawn Dog's Weight: 138 Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  All Cats Kids?: All kids Training: Leash trained: Walks loose on leash Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Sadie – Your Gentle, Loving Velcro Girl Sadie is a gentle, sensitive soul who is still learning that the world is a safe and loving place. This beautiful big girl may take a little time to warm up, but once she trusts you, she will completely melt your heart. When meeting new people, Sadie can be unsure and may bark or growl to express her nervousness—but she has shown no aggression. With a little patience and reassurance, she settles in quickly and reveals her true nature: a sweet, affectionate companion who just wants to be close to her person. Sadie is incredibly human-oriented and will happily follow you from room to room. Once you’ve earned her trust, she looks to you for comfort and guidance—and she’ll thank you with the sweetest little face kisses Because of her size, Sadie may accidentally bump into smaller children, but she truly enjoys being around kids. She’s also met a cat and did great—what a good girl! She is still building confidence and can be startled by loud noises, sudden movements, or unfamiliar situations. She’s making progress every day, but she’ll need a patient adopter who will continue helping her grow at her own pace. She’s especially nervous at the vet and may need medication for visits until she feels more secure. Sadie is crate trained and does well during a full workday, but she would thrive most in a home where someone is around more often. She would also benefit greatly from obedience training—not just to learn commands, but to strengthen her bond and build confidence. Sadie is looking for a calm, patient, and understanding family who will take things slow and let her blossom on her own timeline.  Her perfect family will be one with children that has giant breed experience and be committeed to continued socialization and training.  A confident dog sibling would be wonderful, but not required.   Sadie isn’t just looking for a home—she’s looking for someone who will believe in her, guide her, and celebrate every little milestone along the way. In return, you’ll get a loyal, loving companion who will stick by your side through it all If you’re ready to help Sadie build her confidence and become the amazing dog she’s meant to be, she’s ready to meet you Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Hi, I’m Charlie and I’m ready to find my forever home. Dog’s Name: Charlie Location:  Bartlett, IL Date of Birth: 03/21/2022 Gender: Female Breed: Great Dane Color: Harlequin Dog's Weight: Gets along with: Dogs?: All Dogs  Cats?:  Unknown Kids?: All kids Training: Crate/Kennel:  Goes into crate/kennel on command Potty trained: Indicates a need to potty and doesn’t have indoor accidents Car:  Rides Well in car Meet Charlie – Your Fun-Loving, Smart Companion Charlie is a wonderful mix of playful energy and loving companionship, ready to find a home that will help her shine! She’s the kind of dog who thrives when she has both physical activity and mental stimulation built into her daily routine. With a semi-active lifestyle, Charlie will be right in her element—whether that’s going for walks, enjoying playtime, or engaging in training sessions that challenge her mind. She’s a smart girl who benefits from structure and consistency, and she’ll reward her people with loyalty and love. Charlie has done very well with other dogs in her foster home. She gets along nicely with the resident female dog when fed separately and coexists beautifully overall. She has also previously lived with another Great Dane around her age, so she would likely enjoy having a medium-energy canine companion to share her days with .  Charlie has not been tested with cats. Charlie is ready to bring joy, fun, and companionship into the right home. With a little guidance and a lot of love, she’s going to make an incredible addition to her forever family Until the profile is removed from the public’s view, this dog is considered available for adoption. Story
Larry is a 2 year old black and white Great Dane. He is currently 120 pounds but his ideal weight is 132 pounds. When he was taken from a home in southern Indiana due to neglect in January, he was only about 80 pounds. He is very food motivated and requires a slow feeder dish. He is mostly housebroken but has marked occasionally in his foster home. He is good with large and small dogs but may benefit from a female friend - the marking may be a result of another male dog in the house. He would also do well as an only dog. We are not aware how he would do with cats but has a low prey drive and is very curious and friendly. He is neutered and up to date on all his vaccines. Larry wants to be with his people, has mastered the Dane lean, and wants nothing more than to cuddle with you. He is crated when no one is home and does not seem to mind. Due to his size, living with adults or children 12 and over is recommended. Larry rides well in the car, knows how to sit and shake, is still learning what toys are and is an absolute love bug. He walks well in a harness and will need continued training to blossom into his best self. A benign growth was removed from his back left foot and is healing well. If you are looking for a loyal dog who is happy to play outside, explore on walks with you, or just chill in the house and snuggle, Larry is your guy! If you would like to meet this dog, please call Teri at 630-897-7454. The adoption fee is $275. Adoption fee includes: - microchip - spay/neuter - age appropriate vaccinations: Bordetella, DH(L)PP, rabies - heartworm preventive & flea/tick preventive - deworming
