Story
Hi there! I’m Moose! I was homeless for a very long time, but was adopted about a year ago. I thought this was it, that I'd found my forever home and I was so, so happy! Unfortunately, the person who said she would love me forever and ever decided to move and now I'm homeless again. I have a proposition for you, though--I promise to be your best friend forever and remain loyal and true to you if you'll make me your "for real" forever boy. I've gotten a little older (I'm nine very handsome years old now, to be precise) and I'm still a big boy. But please don’t let my size intimidate you. It just means my heart is bigger! The truth is, I am a very well-behaved boy who is just really looking forward to being part of a family. I sure hope my family sees this and wants to meet me. I’m already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I can have my bags packed to go home with you in no time! I may be a big boy, but I travel light! But the best thing I can offer is that I come with a lifetime of unconditional love. Everyone needs that, right? I am also a very treat-motivated guy. What can I say, I love my food! Being treat-motivated will actually help me learn new things. I already know the commands, “sit,” and “down,” but I would love to learn more. Would you like to help me learn new things? No one knows for certain my past, from before I came to The Pet Connection, because I haven’t shared it all with them, and I don’t really like to dwell on it. But I will tell you that I can be a bit scared of strangers and a bit selective about my doggy friends. Let’s see, what else . . . oh yeah, I also love to play with toys—especially the ones that squeak! Squeaky toys are THE BEST! I am house-trained and crate-trained, too. Oh, AND I like to sit on the riding lawn mower. That’s normal, right? Don’t most dogs like to sit on riding lawn mowers? But it’s really ok if you don’t have a riding lawn mower; I can be flexible about that. So, are you looking for a well-behaved boy with a big heart? If so, will you please come meet me? To make a pet connection, call/text The Pet Connection at (913) 671-7387. I'm staying with them in Beloit, Kansas, but I would totally be on board with hitching a ride to my new home.

**Adoption Fee Waived **Meet Pan — an 8-year-old gentle giant with a heart every bit as big as his 120-pound frame!Don’t let his size fool you—this goofy, lovable boy is as sweet and easygoing as they come. Pan is currently living his best life in a foster home, enjoying comfort, routine, and plenty of love while he waits for his forever family to find him.Pan is a smart, well-mannered companion who is fully house-trained and does great free-roaming when left alone. He knows an impressive list of tricks, including sit, down, shake, and even balancing treats on his nose—he loves showing off for a little attention (or a tasty reward!).Pan is hoping for a calmer, adults-only home where he can feel relaxed and confident.According to his previous owner, Pan is playful and full of life when it’s time for fun, but he’s just as happy to settle in and unwind when the day winds down. He’s the perfect mix of active and mellow, always ready to go with the flow. With his big heart and gentle soul, Pan would love a home with plenty of space to stretch out, explore, and enjoy life at his own pace.Pan is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to meet him, please email foster@kcpetproject.orgHe previously got to spend a few afternoons outside the shelter and this is what we learned about him: “Pan showed off just how good he is! He was an absolute gem! He stepped right up into the back of the car and occupied his time between sticking his head out the window and laying down and resting. Honestly there were a few points when I forgot he was in the car at all! Our first stop of the day was picking up some lunch for everyone. Pan quickly became the star of the show in the drive through line without even trying! This is one handsome boy! Pan is such an easy walker! If you get him running it is more like watching a horse gallop by. At one of our stops there was even a huge group of geese and he could not have been bothered in the slightest by them.” Pan is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and ready to go home with you today!

Story
Goose is a lover above all else. He is loyal and loves to be with his people. He was raised on a small farm and made friends with all our animals and every once in a while would like to sneak eggs from the chicken coop. LOL He would be happy spending his days with the kids outside. He was happiest when my kids were little to lay in a chicken dirt bath spot and let my kids pour dirt on top of him. He is protective of his domain. Though kids and land are not a requirement, he would be best suited in a place with lots of space where he can spend ample time with his people.

Story
Dolly came to us at 6 months old and was very unsure as we feel she may have not been well cared for. She has always been shy and a little unsure of others that she is unfamiliar with and takes some time to gain trust, but has never shown aggression to others. She is very sweet and very tender. She hardly ever licks which may be favorable to some. She was raised on our small farm in Texas and one of her favorite past times was swimming in the pond. She is an incredible swimmer. She has had 1 litter of 15 puppies several years ago and was an excellent mother.

Story
Meet Frankie. Old Blue Eyes. What a guy! He is our newest foster who needs a loving family to grow and thrive in. Frankie is a special 6-month-old 35 lbs. Catahoula lab mix. Yes, they are all special in my heart, but he is extra special, as he is deaf. This does require a new way to train, but he is up to the task if you are! We are working with hand signals, and he also watches the pack. Frankie would do well with a 4-legged playmate to grow and learn from. His potty training is going well, not many accidents at all. He rides in the car wonderfully. He sleeps through the night cuddled in. He does stand back and assess the situation before jumping in. He is overall just a wonderful guy. Thank you to Excelsior Springs Animal Control Center for sending him our way. Now let’s find him his furever home! Frankie is just an absolute love bug. If you have the time and love to give, you can apply to adopt this little man at lucky13rescue.org. Frankie's adoption fee is $275 and includes age appropriate vaccinations, dewormer, heartworm medication, microchip and neuter surgery.
