Story
Hi there! I’m Moose! I was homeless for a very long time, but was adopted about a year ago. I thought this was it, that I'd found my forever home and I was so, so happy! Unfortunately, the person who said she would love me forever and ever decided to move and now I'm homeless again. I have a proposition for you, though--I promise to be your best friend forever and remain loyal and true to you if you'll make me your "for real" forever boy. I've gotten a little older (I'm nine very handsome years old now, to be precise) and I'm still a big boy. But please don’t let my size intimidate you. It just means my heart is bigger! The truth is, I am a very well-behaved boy who is just really looking forward to being part of a family. I sure hope my family sees this and wants to meet me. I’m already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I can have my bags packed to go home with you in no time! I may be a big boy, but I travel light! But the best thing I can offer is that I come with a lifetime of unconditional love. Everyone needs that, right? I am also a very treat-motivated guy. What can I say, I love my food! Being treat-motivated will actually help me learn new things. I already know the commands, “sit,” and “down,” but I would love to learn more. Would you like to help me learn new things? No one knows for certain my past, from before I came to The Pet Connection, because I haven’t shared it all with them, and I don’t really like to dwell on it. But I will tell you that I can be a bit scared of strangers and a bit selective about my doggy friends. Let’s see, what else . . . oh yeah, I also love to play with toys—especially the ones that squeak! Squeaky toys are THE BEST! I am house-trained and crate-trained, too. Oh, AND I like to sit on the riding lawn mower. That’s normal, right? Don’t most dogs like to sit on riding lawn mowers? But it’s really ok if you don’t have a riding lawn mower; I can be flexible about that. So, are you looking for a well-behaved boy with a big heart? If so, will you please come meet me? To make a pet connection, call/text The Pet Connection at (913) 671-7387. I'm staying with them in Beloit, Kansas, but I would totally be on board with hitching a ride to my new home.

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact Virginia (virginiak@tarasdream.org) for more information about this pet. Please visit our web site at https://tarasdream.org/adopt to fill out an adoption application for this pet and for more info about our adoption process.  Tall, dark and handsome, Alfie will sweep you off your feet! He is a playful 7-year-old; if you have a ball, he is always up for a game of fetch. Need a running or walking partner? He will happily join you. He is housetrained, gentle, calm, and gets along with people and other dogs. This loveable guy has had some confusing changes in his life, so it may take him a minute to warm up and feel safe, but, once he does, he loves to be near his human, leaning in for petting. He will need someone to be patient with him as he builds confidence and learns not to be scared of new sounds and places. Alfie does not realize his size, so a home with older children may be best. Come meet Alfie!   Approximate Birthdate:  July 2017 Adoption Fee: $200 TARA's adoption fee includes: spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, heartworm test (if age appropriate), heartworm and flea prevention, and deworming.  TARA's pets are all eligible for a TWO WEEK TRIAL. Due to the fact that many of our dogs come from the local city shelters, we do not know the background of many of them and therefore cannot always guarantee age or breed.   For more information please fill out an application.     CONTACT INFO The Animal Rescue Alliance (TARA) Web site: tarasdream.org Adoption Information & Applications: https://tarasdream.org/adopt Upcoming Adoption Events: https://tarasdream.org/events Email: email@tarasdream.org March 7, 2026, 9:46 pm

Story
Ellie is a sweet soul who wants somebody to love her as much as she loves them. She is spunky, playful, and friendly with dogs and cats! She is working on potty training, sleeps great in her kennel overnight, and enjoys playing out in the yard or doing zoomies. She's also a snuggle bug and likes to rest her head in your lap. She would do well with someone who can be patient with her, she had a rough start at life and is learning that it’s okay to be a puppy! She does learn from the other dogs in her foster home and they are helping her feel more confident!

Story
Hi! My name is Miracle, but you can call me Mira for short! I am one special little girl. Besides being the most beautiful white and pink puppy you have ever seen, I also know some sign language! I have lessons every day so I can learn some new words to help me adjust. I may not be able to hear you but I respond to a gentle touch and have learned “sit,” “come,” and am working very hard on” stay,” “leave it," and ”no.” I am very smart and can teach you what I have learned already, and we can learn new things together. I have the most beautiful blue eyes but the world looks different to me. I will be seeing my Ophthalmologist soon so we can learn more about my eyesight. I don’t let it hold me back at all. I can still run and play but may need a gentle tap to get my attention. I can’t wait to show you how I boop my snoot on your hand to know you are near. My foster mommy thinks it’s adorable and I have to agree. I love being around other dogs and currently share a home with three bigger sisters and one big brother. I love kids too! They are so fun and love to play all day like me. It’s okay if you don’t have any kids, I think grown ups are pretty cool too. I am a good eater and use my manners, always sitting to wait for my bowl. I am really good at taking treats nicely and get one every time I go outside to potty. I am getting good at potty training and have been going to the door to ask to be let out. That always makes my foster mommy happy and she does the happy hands. It makes me feel like a big girl too, so I keep trying my best to always go outside. I am just a baby and still learning. I am so lucky to have someone home with me most days of the week, but when I do have to stay in my kennel, I keep it nice and clean. Sometimes I have a little much to say at first but then I calm myself down and fall asleep. My nightly routine is to hang out with my brother, sisters and foster mommy and daddy and play with toys. I love balls and playing tug. Bubbles are pretty fun too! After I am all worn out, I go to my kennel to be tucked in with a warm blanket and a bedtime treat. I always sleep through the night and then my foster mommy gives me a gentle touch to wake me up. Big stretches, outside to potty, and then breakfast to start my day full of being a puppy and loving life. If you think you would want to be my family and learn new things with me, I would love to meet you! Together, we can explore this big, beautiful world together! XOXO - Mira Miracle will come with age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $275. Story
Meet Miley, a 6-month-old mixed breed pup with the sweetest personality and a playful spirit to match. At around 41 pounds, this black-and-white beauty appears to be a Great Dane/Lab/Bully-type mix (best guess) and is still growing into her big paws and learning all about the world around her. Since coming into foster care, Miley has become so playful! She is mid to high energy and enjoys playing with humans and other dogs. Miley also does well with young children thanks to her friendly and gentle nature. She’s still waiting to be tested around cats. Like most puppies, Miley is still learning her manners. She knows “sit” and “drop,” uses the dog door, and is working on potty training and leash walking. With patience and positive reinforcement, she’s sure to keep making great progress. If you’re looking for a goofy, affectionate, playful pup to grow up with your family, Miley may be your perfect match! All Heart of America Humane Society dogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Adoption fee is $250.
