Story
Hi there! I’m Moose! I was homeless for a very long time, but was adopted about a year ago. I thought this was it, that I'd found my forever home and I was so, so happy! Unfortunately, the person who said she would love me forever and ever decided to move and now I'm homeless again. I have a proposition for you, though--I promise to be your best friend forever and remain loyal and true to you if you'll make me your "for real" forever boy. I've gotten a little older (I'm nine very handsome years old now, to be precise) and I'm still a big boy. But please don’t let my size intimidate you. It just means my heart is bigger! The truth is, I am a very well-behaved boy who is just really looking forward to being part of a family. I sure hope my family sees this and wants to meet me. I’m already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I can have my bags packed to go home with you in no time! I may be a big boy, but I travel light! But the best thing I can offer is that I come with a lifetime of unconditional love. Everyone needs that, right? I am also a very treat-motivated guy. What can I say, I love my food! Being treat-motivated will actually help me learn new things. I already know the commands, “sit,” and “down,” but I would love to learn more. Would you like to help me learn new things? No one knows for certain my past, from before I came to The Pet Connection, because I haven’t shared it all with them, and I don’t really like to dwell on it. But I will tell you that I can be a bit scared of strangers and a bit selective about my doggy friends. Let’s see, what else . . . oh yeah, I also love to play with toys—especially the ones that squeak! Squeaky toys are THE BEST! I am house-trained and crate-trained, too. Oh, AND I like to sit on the riding lawn mower. That’s normal, right? Don’t most dogs like to sit on riding lawn mowers? But it’s really ok if you don’t have a riding lawn mower; I can be flexible about that. So, are you looking for a well-behaved boy with a big heart? If so, will you please come meet me? To make a pet connection, call/text The Pet Connection at (913) 671-7387. I'm staying with them in Beloit, Kansas, but I would totally be on board with hitching a ride to my new home.

Story
**Adoption Fee Waived **Meet Pan — an 8-year-old gentle giant with a heart every bit as big as his 120-pound frame!Don’t let his size fool you—this goofy, lovable boy is as sweet and easygoing as they come. Pan is currently living his best life in a foster home, enjoying comfort, routine, and plenty of love while he waits for his forever family to find him.Pan is a smart, well-mannered companion who is fully house-trained and does great free-roaming when left alone. He knows an impressive list of tricks, including sit, down, shake, and even balancing treats on his nose—he loves showing off for a little attention (or a tasty reward!).Pan is hoping for a calmer, adults-only home where he can feel relaxed and confident.According to his previous owner, Pan is playful and full of life when it’s time for fun, but he’s just as happy to settle in and unwind when the day winds down. He’s the perfect mix of active and mellow, always ready to go with the flow. With his big heart and gentle soul, Pan would love a home with plenty of space to stretch out, explore, and enjoy life at his own pace.Pan is currently living in a foster home. If you’d like to meet him, please email foster@kcpetproject.orgHe previously got to spend a few afternoons outside the shelter and this is what we learned about him: “Pan showed off just how good he is! He was an absolute gem! He stepped right up into the back of the car and occupied his time between sticking his head out the window and laying down and resting. Honestly there were a few points when I forgot he was in the car at all! Our first stop of the day was picking up some lunch for everyone. Pan quickly became the star of the show in the drive through line without even trying! This is one handsome boy! Pan is such an easy walker! If you get him running it is more like watching a horse gallop by. At one of our stops there was even a huge group of geese and he could not have been bothered in the slightest by them.” Pan is up to date on his vaccinations, neutered, microchipped and ready to go home with you today!

Story
Hi! My name is Miracle, but you can call me Mira for short! I am one special little girl. Besides being the most beautiful white and pink puppy you have ever seen, I also know some sign language! I have lessons every day so I can learn some new words to help me adjust. I may not be able to hear you but I respond to a gentle touch and have learned “sit,” “come,” and am working very hard on” stay,” “leave it," and ”no.” I am very smart and can teach you what I have learned already, and we can learn new things together. I have the most beautiful blue eyes but the world looks different to me. I have what is called Waardenburg’s Syndrome. This is a syndrome where the eyes did not develop properly as an embryo due to my white coloring. I don’t let it hold me back at all. I can still run and play but may need a gentle tap to get my attention. I can’t wait to show you how I boop my snoot on your hand to know you are near. My foster mommy thinks it’s adorable and I have to agree. I love being around other dogs and currently share a home with three bigger sisters and one big brother. I love kids too! They are so fun and love to play all day like me. It’s okay if you don’t have any kids, I think grown ups are pretty cool too. I am a good eater and use my manners, always sitting to wait for my bowl. I am really good at taking treats nicely and get one every time I go outside to potty. I am getting good at potty training and have been going to the door to ask to be let out. That always makes my foster mommy happy and she does the happy hands. It makes me feel like a big girl too, so I keep trying my best to always go outside. I am just a baby and still learning. I am so lucky to have someone home with me most days of the week, but when I do have to stay in my kennel, I keep it nice and clean. Sometimes I have a little much to say at first but then I calm myself down and fall asleep. My nightly routine is to hang out with my brother, sisters and foster mommy and daddy and play with toys. I love balls and playing tug. Bubbles are pretty fun too! After I am all worn out, I go to my kennel to be tucked in with a warm blanket and a bedtime treat. I always sleep through the night and then my foster mommy gives me a gentle touch to wake me up. Big stretches, outside to potty, and then breakfast to start my day full of being a puppy and loving life. If you think you would want to be my family and learn new things with me, I would love to meet you! Together, we can explore this big, beautiful world together! XOXO - Mira Miracle will come with age-appropriate vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and up to date on heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $275. Apply to adopt Miracle today at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LUCK/Dog or at www.lucky13rescue.org.

Story
Ellie is a sweet soul who wants somebody to love her as much as she loves them. She is spunky, playful, and friendly with dogs and cats! She is working on potty training, sleeps great in her kennel overnight, and enjoys playing out in the yard or doing zoomies. She's also a snuggle bug and likes to rest her head in your lap. She would do well with someone who can be patient with her, she had a rough start at life and is learning that it’s okay to be a puppy! She does learn from the other dogs in her foster home and they are helping her feel more confident!

These pups are in Lees Summit, Missouri too!

DOB: 12/11/25                           Current Weight(as of 04/22/26) 40.2 lbs. Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Gidget has weighed in at over 40 lbs. at 4 months old! She is going to be a extra large girl when fully grown. She is beautiful in person and get fur is so soft.  Gidget has a bit more confidence then her other siblings when meeting new people. She will come up to you, sit, and extends her paw like she either wants to shake or high five. With more practice she will master both of them. Gidget loves the kiddies pool. Sitting in the middle of it is her favorite thing to do. She loves all toys especially the rope type and soft squeaky ones. It's so cute to watch her try to steal toys from her siblings. Gidget is just like her sisters when it comes to meeting dogs her size or bigger. She is very submissive until she knows they are friendly. Then the chasing begins.  We have started taking her on walks wearing a harness and so far, so good. We will send her home with a harness, collar and leash. You will also have a one week trial period to be sure she is a good fit for your family. Great Pyrenees have a gentle, playful temperament and she seems to be following those traits. Get your application in soon to take home this beautiful pup!  The “G” puppies are a litter of seven sweet sisters, born on December 11, 2025. These girls are Great Pyrenees / Anatolian Shepherd mixes, which means they’re expected to grow into very large dogs with gentle hearts and loyal personalities. All of the puppies are inside dogs and have been raised with love and care. They are sweet-natured, playful, and affectionate, enjoying both puppy playtime and human attention. True to their guardian-breed roots, they are curious and confident, with a natural tendency to explore. Because Great Pyrenees and Anatolian Shepherds are known for roaming, we are looking for homes with a secure, fenced yard to keep these sweet girls safe and happy. They will thrive with families who understand large breeds and are committed to providing structure, training, and plenty of love as they grow. If you’re ready to welcome a loyal, loving companion who will grow into a magnificent dog, one of the “G” puppies may be the perfect fit for your family. Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty. Please make sure that you have a “potty plan” in place if considering adoption. All of our puppies have been spay/neuter, wormed, microchipped, and given age appropriate vaccinations. If you are interested in meeting/adopting one of them just fill out a application at www.furrykidsrefuge.org, click on the 'Adopt A Dog' icon and a dedicated volunteer will be in touch.  Furry Kids' Refuge is in need of good quality dog and puppy food with meat as the first ingredient.  You can drop off donations at our weekly adoption events at the Lee's Summit Petco (1860 NW Chipman Road, Lee's Summit, MO), Saturdays only from 11am to 2:00 p.m.  Donations are tax deductible as allowed by law.  Would you like to foster a Furry Kid? Furry Kids' Refuge will supply the food & vet care while you supply the basic house rules & love.......win-win for all!!  Just visit our website http://www.furrykidsrefuge.org/category/fostering/  for more information. Thanks for your support! Story
DOB:  2/7/26                                 Current Weight(as of 5/28/26): 29 Lbs. Adoption Fee: $275 includes 1 week trial to ensure everyone's happiness. Izzie is a 4-month-old Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix with a heart as beautiful as her looks. Like many puppies, Izzie had a rough start and came to rescue feeling very shy and fearful of the world around her. Thanks to the patience, love, and encouragement of her foster family, she has made tremendous progress and continues to blossom more every day. Once Izzie feels comfortable, her playful and affectionate personality shines through. She absolutely loves playing with other dogs, romping around the backyard, and spending time with her foster parents. Watching her confidence grow has been a joy, and she is ready to find a family that will continue helping her discover just how wonderful life can be. Izzie has done very well with house training and is almost there, but she will still need consistency and patience as she continues to learn. Because she loves having space to explore and play, a securely fenced yard will be required.  As a Great Pyrenees/Anatolian Shepherd mix, Izzie is expected to be a large to extra-large dog when fully grown. She will thrive with a family that understands giant-breed dogs and is committed to providing her with the love, guidance, and security she needs. Izzie is more than just a beautiful puppy—she is a sweet soul who has worked hard to overcome her fears and is ready to reward her forever family with a lifetime of loyalty, love, and companionship. Puppies are NOT housebroken and should not be expected to wait more than 1 hour for each month of age to go out to potty.
