Hi there! I’m Moose! I was homeless for a very long time, but was adopted about a year ago. I thought this was it, that I'd found my forever home and I was so, so happy! Unfortunately, the person who said she would love me forever and ever decided to move and now I'm homeless again. I have a proposition for you, though--I promise to be your best friend forever and remain loyal and true to you if you'll make me your "for real" forever boy. I've gotten a little older (I'm nine very handsome years old now, to be precise) and I'm still a big boy. But please don’t let my size intimidate you. It just means my heart is bigger! The truth is, I am a very well-behaved boy who is just really looking forward to being part of a family. I sure hope my family sees this and wants to meet me. I’m already neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated, and I can have my bags packed to go home with you in no time! I may be a big boy, but I travel light! But the best thing I can offer is that I come with a lifetime of unconditional love. Everyone needs that, right? I am also a very treat-motivated guy. What can I say, I love my food! Being treat-motivated will actually help me learn new things. I already know the commands, “sit,” and “down,” but I would love to learn more. Would you like to help me learn new things? No one knows for certain my past, from before I came to The Pet Connection, because I haven’t shared it all with them, and I don’t really like to dwell on it. But I will tell you that I can be a bit scared of strangers and a bit selective about my doggy friends. Let’s see, what else . . . oh yeah, I also love to play with toys—especially the ones that squeak! Squeaky toys are THE BEST! I am house-trained and crate-trained, too. Oh, AND I like to sit on the riding lawn mower. That’s normal, right? Don’t most dogs like to sit on riding lawn mowers? Bubba may very well be the most grateful dog you’ll ever meet. For the first nine years of his life, Bubba lived in a small outdoor pen with very little care or attention. Despite that, he greets every single day now with joy and appreciation for the little things many dogs take for granted. Today, Bubba proudly serves as our lobby greeter, and he takes that job very seriously. He’s thankful for every treat, every meal, every walk, every belly rub, and every bit of attention you give him. The gratitude he shows is something special to witness. Bubba already knows sit, has wonderful manners, and listens incredibly well. He is eager to please and truly wants to be a good boy. He’s young at heart too, give him a new toy and you might just see the zoomies come out! He’s great in the car, completely house and kennel trained, though he rarely needs a kennel because he’s so trustworthy. Bubba has earned full free-range privileges of our lobby, and he does an excellent job supervising the place. Walks are one of Bubba’s favorite things. Every so often he’ll look back at you with the sweetest smile, as if to say “Can you believe this is my life now?” At nine years old, Bubba has decided he’d prefer to be the only dog in the home. He can easily walk past other dogs on leash without any reactivity, but he’s happiest keeping his distance and soaking up all the love for himself. If you’re looking for a handsome, well-mannered gentleman with a heart full of gratitude, Bubba might just be your guy.
