Story
Meet Fred! We rescued this baby along with his 6 other siblings from a closing shelter where they were kept in a muddy outdoor enclosure with nothing but a plastic bin to hide in. Fred is one of the biggest from his litter. He loves to play with other dogs and cuddle, he is very social and is potty trained and eager to please. We don't know his DNA, but his mom was a short haired Anatolian shepherd mix. These pups will all be very large, possibly 70-80 lbs or more. Fred would do best being adopted into a home with other dogs so he can continue to socialize and become the best version of himself!

Story
Hello! Iandamp;#39;m Conner! I came to Great Plains SPCA after the Humane Society of the United States worked with the Topeka Police Department to save me and lots of other dogs and cats from a terrible situation where we were sick and starving. The caring staff at Great Plains have shown me love and given me a clean&#44 safe place to stay so Iandamp;#39;m feeling much better now and ready to start a new life!andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Iandamp;#39;m not as big as a regular Great Dane&#44 but Iandamp;#39;ve got those classic good looks. I love other dogs&#44 playing with toys and taking walks. Iandamp;#39;m friendly and easy going. My past is behind me and the future is looking bright. Can I be your dog?andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Love&#44andlt;br/andgt;Conner

Story
Meet Clyde About 2 years old. They Lied "Clyde", AKA Juzo, is asking for a second chance, and is pleading NOT GUILTY to the accusations of not being a good boy. Clyde was accused of being not nice when he was brought in for incarceration. They said he showed his teeth and got a little too close to the people he was staying with. Clyde stands by his word that he was just smiling, and he wanted a hug after they got home from work. The jailers have deemed that he was wrongfully accused, and deserves a second chance, and is eligible for parole. He's willing to stay under house arrest while he heals from his new prison tat and care from the prison doctors ( neuter and shots). His description: Tall Dark fur with white spots 95lbs Great Dane/Terrier mix Big happy smile Personality: Snuggly- will invade your personal space Happy- always smiling Loving-great at kisses and hugs Sleepy- slept the entire 15 minute drive to the vet Playful- bouncy like a puppy in the play yard! Things to watch for: Not the best leash walker Does not like the vet's scale Is as tall as most people, and likes to hug. Things to enjoy: Amazing Car rider Loyal Affectionate If you think you'd like to offer Clyde a place to spend his parole, maybe even a long term place to keep off of the streets and finish his rehabilitation, we'd love to talk with you a bit more! Call 913-684-4939 for more information or an appointment to meet him. Email fortleavenworthstrayfacility@gmail.com for an adoption application.

Story
Meet Dino! We rescued this baby along with his 6 other siblings from a closing shelter where they were kept in a muddy outdoor enclosure with nothing but a plastic bin to hide in. Dino's siblings are all short haired, but for some reason he is fluffy! He loves to play with other dogs and is potty trained. We don't know his DNA, but his mom was a short haired Anatolian shepherd mix. These pups will all be very large, possibly 70-80 lbs or more. Pebbles would do best in a home with other dogs where he can continue to socialize and become the best version of himself! His foster says: " He is a great balance of energy and calm. He loves to play with his doggy friends and goof around and have fun, but also has many calm moments where he just wants to snooze! He is a little afraid of new things sometimes, but is so willing to try as long as he knows you or his pup friend is right there with him! He walks wonderful, and loves toys, and of course treats! He is right on his way to being potty trained, and has done a great job at letting me know when he's needing to go! He is such a quick learner! You will not regret opening your home to this little bundle of love and joy. He does need to be in a home with other dogs, as he is his most happy when with his dog friends. He os truly himself around other pups, and in good conscience cannot keep him from that happiness!

Story
Meet Wilma! We rescued this baby along with her 6 other siblings from a closing shelter where they were kept in a muddy outdoor enclosure with nothing but a plastic bin to hide in. Wilma was one of the smallest in her litter and was somewhat bullied by her siblings, so she can be shy around new people. Once you give her a few minutes, she turns into the silly puppy she is. She loves to play with other dogs and is potty trained. We don't know her DNA, but her mom was a short haired Anatolian shepherd mix. These pups will all be very large, possibly 70-80 lbs or more. Wilma would do best in a home with other dogs where she can continue to socialize and become the best version of herself!
