Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Dolly has large Great Dane genes grafted onto a somewhat smaller body. Not that anyone would ever call her small, but you would say she's a manageable size, which is perfect. If you love the Dane look, but aren't sure you could handle a full size model, we have Dolly waiting for you. She is currently only 60 lbs., but that is a bit deceiving, as she is very underweight. We would like to see at least 15 lbs. more on her ribs and we are working on it. She is now getting top quality groceries, something she has never had before. Still a young dog, at only about 2 years old, she is in the process of learning about how to deal with the world around her and she is learning fast. Her foster has some comments to help you understand this 'dog-in-progress. 'She’s nervous around new people and things. She does warm up after a bit. Her initial reaction to people that she doesn’t know is to low growl. She is trying to tell everyone to give her a moment to process the new information. I don’t recommend a house with cats or small animals. She’ tries to chase down all the birds,  and squirrels when we’re outside. I’m fairly confident her life prior to rescue wasn’t a good one. It's heartbreaking seeing a good dog trying to cope with a world she was never shown. UPDATE:I have had her for a month now, and she is learning! I took her to the vet today, and while she was nervous, she did not growl. So there has been improvement on that aspect. She wasn’t super outgoing and wanting everyone’s attention, so definitely stand by the slower to warm up to strangers. I highly suspect she’s been abused. She is highly intelligent and learns new things really fast.  She really has the potential to be an excellent dog, and wants to be loved and please her person. MORE UPDATE: Since being here at my house over a month now I have some new insights into her. She is not dog friendly with all dogs.  She's OK with my male dog, but not so happy with my female.  I've been working on getting her to ignore people on walks and she's doing better. She doesn't like it if strangers get to close when we are out.  In the yard. she's definitely going to need at least a 6 foot fence to keep her safely secured.  I will say, she is house trained and does let you know when she needs to go out. She also does very well in her kennel. She is very smart, and can learn things pretty quickly. She has all her shots and is ready and waiting for the person or family who like bigger dogs, but aren't ready for an actual Goliath. Dolly is a good girl! She is hoping you will want to help her be a good dog and come for her soon.   If you are interested in Dolly, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! ***Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 26, 2025, 11:42 am

Story
Meet Misty! She's a smart lady who is smart as a whip! She's crate trained, mastered many commands (sit, down, off, mat, enough, go to your room, here, all done- more than most kids :). She loves to run, play fetch and be wherever you are! She's a year and a half old, and was lucky enough to have professional training donated to help her find her forever home. Whoever adopts her will receive at least one free hand off session from her trainer to help her transition go perfectly! Her ideal family would be somewhat active (she needs to run around a yard at least a few times per day). She gets along well with other dogs, but calmer dogs are best. Misty loves to play, but she can get very excited if the other dog is too energetic! She would do well with older children. Younger children and cats would require a lot of supervision. Her trainer thinks she would be a great agility dog, but she is smart enough to do anything you want to train her to do! She will require some active parenting to teach her the rules of your house, because she is so smart, she may try to make her own activities if nothing fun is provided! She's potty trained now (we had some overnight accidents until she started going in her crate at night). She's a great dog with a good head on her shoulders, and she wants to know if you are the one for her! $200 In State Adoption Fee (in Texas) $400 Out of State Fee (includes Transportation to your area) $50 Temporary fuel surcharge.

Story
Meet Quinn (“Quinny Girl” or “Princess”) 🐾 Quinn is an adorable, big-hearted puppy with a playful and affectionate personality. She loves attention, cuddles, and being close to her people. Quinn enjoys walks but is just as happy lounging around and relaxing with her family. She’s a big puppy who thinks she’s about 10 pounds and will happily try to cuddle like a tiny lap dog! She also loves food and treats, which makes her easy to motivate and train. Overall Quinn is sweet, low-maintenance, and full of personality. Important: Quinn has a companion dog named Tye, and they have been living together. Our hope is to find a loving home that may be open to adopting them together, as they are very comfortable with one another. This has been a very difficult decision for our family, especially for our children, and we would feel much more peace knowing they can stay together.

Story
We got Orion in December of 2021. He was my dog and I loved him so much. He was a good sweet boy. Strong, and athletic, but also just wanted attention. He’s was such a kind soul through my pregnancy and supporting me when things got rocky. He’s been great with my daughter, mostly ignoring her when she was really small, and still doing the same now two years later. Sadly, a combination of human health concerns and changes in circumstances have led me to have re-home him. I wished I didn’t have to do this. He’s a great boy.

Story
Current Location: Hughesville, MD Meet Black Beauty Black Beauty is a two year old, 95 pound all black Great Dane with a heart that is somehow even bigger than his already magnificent frame. He is loving, goofy, playful, and genuinely joyful in a way that makes everyone around him smile. He is the kind of dog who will make you laugh with his silly antics one moment and melt you completely with his gentle affection the next. He is, in every sense of the name, a beautiful boy. He came into this world with a lot of love to give and he gives it freely and generously to the people he trusts. He is calm, sleeps well in his crate, and knows sit, stay, come, shake, and crate cues. He is adventurous and active, loves long walks and play sessions, and thrives with plenty of exercise and enrichment to keep that big body and bright mind engaged. Black Beauty also carries some fears with him, and those fears sometimes show up as reactivity, particularly around other dogs and in tense or loud situations. Raised voices can unsettle him and he can become defensive when he feels overwhelmed or threatened. This is not who Black Beauty is at his core. It is simply a part of his story that the right person will understand and work through with him. He has already shown tremendous capacity for growth and with calm, consistent, positive support his confidence continues to build and his bright playful spirit shines more every day. He is not the right fit for a home with other pets or young children. He needs a calm and structured environment, an active and patient adopter with experience handling large dogs, and someone who has the time and heart to build his trust slowly and deliberately. In return Black Beauty will give that person something extraordinary. The devoted, goofy, deeply loving companionship that only a dog who has learned to truly trust can give. He needs a fenced yard, a calm household, and a person who sees not just where he is today but where he is going. Because Black Beauty is going somewhere wonderful. He just needs the right person to make the journey with him.
