Story
Meet Plum! Affectionately referred to around the kennel as our "sugar plum, this 10-month-old dane/hound mix is eager to be your truest companion! She's 47 pounds of playful perfection! With a good foundation in basic commands like sit, down, and shake, Plum is off to a great start! She is a food-motivated, very smart and capable pup who will continue to thrive with training, daily exercise and enrichment. Engaging activities such as puzzle toys, interactive games, and regular walks are a great way to form a life-long bond with her. A yard for Plum to enjoy is an absolute requirement for this lively lady! Plum promises to show you her thanks by leaning in close and loving on you every chance she gets! She has the most amusing playful pounce and will no doubt provide years of laughs along the way. Of course she always makes time for belly rubs and appreciates all the love you can share with her! Based on our evaluation, we feel Plum would do well in an active home with adults or families with kids ages 12 and up. She may have the ability to live with other animals and we are happy to do a meet and greet with your family fur baby. If you think Plum could be the perfect pup for you, please visit greatlakesdogrescue.com today and submit an application for our precious Plum!

Story
Minnie is an energetic 7-year old 110-lb female who loves walks and sleeping on the couch while being covered in blankets (she is demanding about the blankets). She has had a sensitive stomach her whole life but we figured out the right food for her during her first year. She has had gastropexy surgery when she was a puppy. She is great with our cat and also LOVES laying outside in the sunshine on a nice open backyard. She regularly goes to doggy daycare and has gone through professional 3-week bootcamp. She is a barker at home and protective but outside of the house she gets along with people and other dogs just fine. She is crate trained and can be left out without any destruction. She loves sleeping in bed but we have recently trained her out of that but I'm positive she would be happy to go back to sleeping in bed. She is not a drooler. We've had her since she was a puppy and she has been amazing, kind, and low maintenance as well. !!! No little children !!!

Story
SHE BOUNCES LIKE TIGGER! Getrude is working on socialization! She deserves the chance for socialization in a loving home that understands she startles with noises and needs very consistent routine. No signs of aggression! She is working on playing with toys and is a shy lovely girl with a gentle spirit. According to her foster home, "she want to please humans and dogs-but her insecurity/nervousness can make her movements jerky." Getrude could go to a home with an older, calmer dog to follow. Can't go to a home with another fearful/anxious dog. She loves peanut butter kongs, soft toys, and wants to play with her foster dogs! She is being housetrained, and is receiving antianxiety meds, and priloscec otc. Will need crate training. Will need extra time and repetitions to fully incorporate new commands. Experienced adopter needed who understands a dog with anxiety ; needs fenced in yard. Knows basic commands such as Sit, Paw, Quiet, No, Wait, Nice, Stay patience and routine oriented - willing to continue to work with a DVM behaviorist.
