We do not have the resources to respond to emails with more specific questions.We are receiving an unusually high number of applications at this time! Applications are reviewed as they are received, but we do not select adopters on a first-come basis. Our job is to ensure each pet is placed into the best fit home for them and that adopters are paired with an animal that is a good fit for their lifestyle. All animals will stay online until they are “pending adoption”. Therefore, if an animal is still listed, we are still accepting applications for him/her! Please do not send inquiries about a specific animal's availability as this can change quickly over the course of the day. The fastest way to get a response is to simply submit an application! We will do our best to notify you by email if the pet(s) you are interested in are no longer available. New animals are posted daily, so please let us know if another furry friend peaks your interest (there is no need to fill out a second application)! Fill out the application completely. Every question must be answered, and it must be signed.-Applicants must be 21+ years old and live within a 100-mile radius of our shelter at 22415 Groesbeck Hwy, Warren 48089.-You must identify at least 1 animal that you are interested in.-Once your application is received, it will be assigned to one of our volunteer Adoption Counselors who will follow-up with the applicant who is the best fit within a few days, or to discuss other options. It could take up to a couple of weeks for you to receive a final disposition on your application so there is no need to check on the status.-Introductions will be scheduled by appointment only, 30 minutes per appointment. The entire household, including current dogs, must be present for the appointment. (Note: Please do not bring your dogs if you are meeting cats!). The introductions will take place outside in our parking lot (or in our cat room if you're meeting cats).-We will perform vet checks for current and prior pets in the household.-Finalizing the adoption will also be scheduled by appointment.Thank you for your understanding.

Ruckus came into care with 3 other puppies who will all need socialization, and supervision. He will n will need puppy classes and be watched as he will consume small objects due to his background. Ruckus is being worked with in his foster home for potty training and for basic commands. He is also being crate trained. He is really becoming more confident in his foster home and loves to do zoomies and plays ball. He needs a lot of reassurance, and direction in new situations. He will eat ANYTHING and needs to be reassured regarding food is available. Not sure with kids or cats just yet. His personality is blooming in his foster home and is playing with toys now and is with other dogs in the home. He needs clear boundaries and consistency and lots and lots of snuggles. Goofy and uncoordinated with feet and ears flying in every direction. Chases his tail.

Lottie is the "itty bitty sister" that was rescued with 3 other puppies. Lottie is super sweet and cuddly, but will need slow socialization, puppy classes, and needs to be supervised as she will consume small objects. This is a result of her unsupervised, under socialized situation as a puppy. She is learning commands and loves other small dogs. She LOVES to eat. She is great in the car and does go in her crate. This is a lovely girl who needs a committed family for her needs! Learning potty training quickly!

Blaney comes from a loving owner but sadly they could not keep him. He is fully housetrained and has excellent house manners when allowed free roam of the house. He has lived with multiple cats and dogs. He is a good snuggler and is used to sleeping in bed with a friend. He is a little shy at first and wants a slow introduction to his new family. Meet Brutus. He's a one year old, 60lb Great Dane mix. Brutus love's cuddling. He likes to keep a strict bedtime of 10pm. And if you ask him "Who's a good Boy?", he will give you kisses, even if it's the middle of the night. Brutus is potty trained, knows sit, lay down, go to bed, cookies, off and enough and takes treats gently. He loves playing tug of war, chewing bones and sweet potatoes. Brutus also enjoys baths, running, playing and car rides. He is a little leery of men at first and sometimes gets separation anxiety, but who doesn't. Brutus gets along with other dogs and he hasn't been around kids.
