Thinking about adding a new dog to your family but aren’t ready to commit to a lifetime of bending down to pet him? Need a living reminder that the kitchen counter is no place for your dinner leftovers? Ever wonder if the time you spend in the bathroom might be more enjoyable with canine supervision? If you answered yes to any of these questions - or even if you didn’t 😉 - meet Ruckus, the wonder puppy! This awesome guy is seven months old, all Great Dane (all the time!), and he’s looking for his forever home. Ruckus enjoys running, playing, high-speed zoomies, snuggling, and eating just about anything he finds. He’s a super sweet puppy that truly believes he belongs wherever you are — couch, kitchen, bed, yard, shower… you name it. Ruckus wants nothing more than to be with his people. This adorable love bug has a heart that’s as big as his appetite. He’s overcome a lot so far in his life - hunger, uncertainty, and fear dominated his first few months. Ruckus still needs some extra help and guidance from his people in overcoming some old habits, like deciding what is and isn’t good for him to eat. He’s still a growing pup and needs people he can lean on - literally and figuratively - that will look out for him as he gets bigger… and bigger… and bigger… Ruckus might be a bit shy at first, but once he warms up, he’s the life of the party. He has a ton of energy and needs an active home that can keep up with his on the go nature. Ruckus gets along great with other dogs and would love a home with a canine playmate. He’ll also need a physical fence to safely contain all that goofiness—sometimes he gets so caught up in the fun that he forgets where the party ends. Ruckus is crate trained, potty trained, and knows basic commands. He’s ready and waiting to be your new best friend!

Story
Roman is a handsome one year old black Great Dane male. He is still very much a puppy with a puppy brain. Roman is a sweet boy with the most soulful eyes you have ever seen! He is a gentle boy who attaches quickly to people. Roman enjoys quiet walks with his foster parents and helping out around the house. Walks are getting better w practice on a leash. Roman has a few quirks that he needs his potential adopters to be aware of. - he has bloated, his stomach has been tacked but in situations of high stress he is a bloat risk and will need to be monitored throughout his life - Roman has shown some food and resource guarding with other dogs. He will need to be fed separately from other dogs in the home and any high value food items like treats will need to be fed with dogs separated - Roman is a bit unsure of life and how to live like a "normal" dog. He seeks the guidance of the adult in his life and will need a calm, strong, experienced giant breed owner to help him figure all of this out (rescue experience preferred) - Roman is good with other dogs but is still figuring out how to play, he does best with confident, female dogs - Roman needs SLOW socialization and exposure to new things once he has built trust with his adopter. Our obedience requirement will be critical to Roman's success If you think you could be Roman's perfect family, please read more about adoption and submit an application at www.greatdanerescueinc.com/adopt

Story
Sadie is an adorable 7-month-old Great Dane puppy with a sweet heart, happy spirit, and a nose that believes every inch of the world around her deserves investigation. She’s always ready to explore—especially if there’s something new to sniff. Sadie loves toys (especially the kind she can really chew on) and is happiest when she has something fun to carry, toss, or proudly parade around. Like many young puppies, Sadie is still learning her manners and is currently working on obedience training. She’s crate trained and doing well, which gives her a great foundation for continued learning. Sadie enjoys other dogs, but because she’s still young and playful, she can sometimes play a little rough and will do best with dog friends who understand puppy energy and giant-breed enthusiasm. She’s at that wonderful age where her personality is blooming every day, and she’s looking for a home ready to guide her through puppyhood while enjoying all the laughter and love that come with a young Great Dane. Sadie is full of life and love, and she can't wait to start her next adventure with her forever people!

Story
Need a dog who acts like your personal assistant, shadow, and kitchen inspector all in one? Meet Stella: 6 months old, female, Great Dane-sized baby, professionally crate trained, and currently majoring in “What Are You Touching and Can I Smell It?” Her hobbies include: • Launching enthusiastically out of her crate at sunrise • Barking at cats who make prolonged eye contact • Investigating counters for abandoned snacks • Following foster mom everywhere and supervising all routines • Learning basic commands According to Stella: • Morning crate exits = a brand new day = SO EXCITING!! • She barks when the cat stares at her because honestly… that feels suspicious 😅 • She’s curious about cats but respectful and doesn’t bother them • Kitchen counters can be unsupervised buffets - how can she know what's up there if she doesn't check regularly? • Every single thing foster mom touches must immediately be sniffed for quality control • She starts out shy with new people, but will quickly upgrade you to favorite human status Stella is incredibly sweet, affectionate, and has that classic Great Dane mix of awkward, funny, and deeply loving energy. The right home will understand that she’s still a baby — just in extra-large packaging — and will help her keep learning while loving every goofy minute of it.

Story
Vader is a six-year-old gentleman with a calm spirit and movie-star good looks. He recently came into rescue after being surrendered when his previous owner was away from home too often to give him the time and care he deserved. Despite the changes in his life, Vader’s heart remains wide open. This soulful boy is working on gaining a few healthy pounds and getting back to his best self before he’s officially ready for adoption. He’s currently on a medical hold while he receives the veterinary care he missed in the past, but he’s well on his way to feeling great and starting his next chapter. Vader is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s with his people. He rides beautifully in the car and knows his basic commands. While he’s still polishing up his leash manners, he’s a smart boy who enjoys learning. He has never been crated and isn’t particularly interested in starting now — he much prefers lounging near his humans. With other dogs, Vader can show some dominant tendencies, but he’s friendly, playful, and eager to meet new canine friends. He does experience some anxiety when left alone, which is understandable after spending long, lonely days waiting for his family to return. He’ll also happily let you know if something exciting is happening outside — he’s not shy about using his voice to communicate. Vader is truly a gem — the perfect blend of maturity and lovable goofiness. Once he’s medically cleared, he’ll be ready to give his whole heart to a family who can give him the time, stability, and love he’s been waiting for.
