Story
Roman is a handsome one year old black Great Dane male. He is still very much a puppy with a puppy brain. Roman is a sweet boy with the most soulful eyes you have ever seen! He is a gentle boy who attaches quickly to people. Roman enjoys quiet walks with his foster parents and helping out around the house. Walks are getting better w practice on a leash. Roman has a few quirks that he needs his potential adopters to be aware of. - he has bloated, his stomach has been tacked but in situations of high stress he is a bloat risk and will need to be monitored throughout his life - Roman has shown some food and resource guarding with other dogs. He will need to be fed separately from other dogs in the home and any high value food items like treats will need to be fed with dogs separated - Roman is a bit unsure of life and how to live like a "normal" dog. He seeks the guidance of the adult in his life and will need a calm, strong, experienced giant breed owner to help him figure all of this out (rescue experience preferred) - Roman is good with other dogs but is still figuring out how to play, he does best with confident, female dogs - Roman needs SLOW socialization and exposure to new things once he has built trust with his adopter. Our obedience requirement will be critical to Roman's success If you think you could be Roman's perfect family, please read more about adoption and submit an application at www.greatdanerescueinc.com/adopt

Story
Vader is a six-year-old gentleman with a calm spirit and movie-star good looks. He recently came into rescue after being surrendered when his previous owner was away from home too often to give him the time and care he deserved. Despite the changes in his life, Vader’s heart remains wide open. This soulful boy has gained a few healthy pounds and is officially ready for adoption! All Vader’s veterinary care is up to date and he can’t wait to find his forever home. Vader is affectionate, loyal, and happiest when he’s with his people. He rides beautifully in the car and knows his basic commands. While he’s still polishing up his leash manners, he’s a smart boy who enjoys learning. He has never been crated and isn’t particularly interested in starting now — he much prefers lounging near his humans. With other dogs, Vader can show some dominant tendencies, but he’s friendly, playful, and eager to meet new canine friends. He does experience some anxiety when left alone, which is understandable after spending long, lonely days waiting for his family to return. He’ll also happily let you know if something exciting is happening outside — he’s not shy about using his voice to communicate.Vader is truly a gem — the perfect blend of maturity and lovable goofiness. Hr is ready to give his whole heart to a family who can give him the time, stability, and love he’s been waiting for.

🐾💛 DOUBLE THE LOVE, DOUBLE THE LOYALTY 💛🐾 Some dogs are happiest with their people. Zeus and Zora are happiest with each other. 🖤 This bonded pair has built a quiet little world together, and they’re looking for a home willing to open their heart to both of them. While their personalities are different, they balance each other beautifully. ✨ Zeus is the more sensitive of the two. New people and sudden movements can make him cautious at first, especially around larger men, but once he feels safe? He turns into a complete love bug. Zeus loves to follow his people from room to room, curl up close, and be part of whatever you’re doing. He still has a playful side too and enjoys tug toys and roughhousing around with Zora. He’s learning that the world isn’t so scary and continues to gain confidence every day. ✨ Zora is the calm, steady presence in the pair. She’s more laid back, happiest lounging nearby or curling up on you like a giant teddy bear while you relax. She’s not much for playtime and would prefer a peaceful home without younger, overly energetic dogs. Zora can be sensitive to noises and unfamiliar sounds, but once she settles into a routine, she relaxes beautifully and becomes incredibly affectionate. 💛 Together, they: ✔️ Are bonded and rely on each other for comfort ✔️ Love spending time outside with their people ✔️ Walk wonderfully together ✔️ Are eating well and adjusting nicely in foster care ✔️ Enjoy a calm routine and quiet companionship ✔️ Are affectionate, loyal, and deeply loving once they trust you Zeus may occasionally react when seeing other dogs on walks, but he redirects well with guidance and continues to improve. Both dogs thrive with patience, consistency, and a calm environment where they can feel secure. These two don’t need perfection. They just need someone willing to give them the chance to stay together. 🐾 And once they trust you? You’ll never question whether it was worth.
