Story
Grams Needs Your Help Registration No.: RR097. It’s truly heart-wrenching to hear about Grams’ condition, but it’s also heartwarming to know that he’s now in a caring environment where he can begin to heal physically and emotionally. Gram is a scared but sweet boy, weighing 87 pounds and we think he is about 3 years old. It’s clear that he’s been through a lot, but with proper care and attention, he has a chance for a better life ahead. The pictures say more than words. The efforts of the shelter and his foster home are commendable. His foster mom is providing him with multiple small meals to prevent bloating, along with the patience and care to help him adjust to his new surroundings, are crucial steps in his recovery process. It sounds like Gram has endured significant neglect and possibly mistreatment in the past. His emaciated condition and the injuries described below indicate prolonged suffering and lack of proper care. The protruding bones suggest severe malnutrition. The cuts on his hind legs, along with the pressure sores, further indicate that he’s been subjected to conditions that are detrimental to his well-being, likely due to prolonged confinement in an inadequate environment. The rings around his tail are a common sign of being crated for long periods in a crate that’s too small, causing discomfort and injury. The chewed-up ears could indeed be from being tied up outside, especially if flies or other pests were present. Given his physical condition, it’s imperative that he receives prompt veterinary attention to address his sores and his paraphimosis which is an issue with his penis that can cause a constriction to the blood flow which can cause increased swelling and any other health concerns he may have. It’s also important to assess his emotional well-being and provide him with the support and comfort he needs to feel safe and secure. It’s essential that his new foster and eventual furever home continue to monitor his condition closely and provide him with the necessary support and medical care to ensure his recovery and eventual well-being. Grams deserves a chance at a better life, and with the right care and compassion, he can overcome his past traumas and thrive in a loving home. Gram is responding well to the care provided by his foster home. The fact that he’s eating, drinking, and able to relieve himself without complications is a positive sign of his resilience. Bonding with his foster family is a crucial step in Grams’ journey to recovery. Establishing trust and a sense of security will be essential for him to feel safe and comfortable in his new environment. The patience and compassion shown by his foster caregivers are invaluable in helping him adjust and heal from the trauma he’s experienced. It’s heartbreaking to imagine what Gram has been through. With proper medical attention, nutrition, and lots of love and patience, he has the potential to heal both physically and emotionally. Gram has a bright future ahead. He’s fortunate to have found a supportive foster home that is committed to his well-being, and I have no doubt that he’ll continue to make progress on his journey to recovery and eventual adoption into a loving furever home. MAGDRL adopts to eastern NY, eastern PA, NJ, DE, MD, VA and WV only. Please see our website www.magdrl.org for adoption procedures and fencing policies. Story
Tall Titan, is a strong and remarkable  Warrior, a dog that has fought to be alive and walking  today on this earth.  He has willed himself to come from the depths of pain and starvation to become this handsome boy that you see right now.  He is our Super Hero Pup and our example of a creature that has never given up even when it would have been easier to just go to sleep and never wake up.  When Titan came to a rescue lady’s house that Critter Cavalry knows, this boy was malnourished and just a skeleton of the puppy he should be as a Great Dane.  The lady has a love for the Danes and she asked CCR to please take him into our rescue before she fell in love and couldn’t let him go.  She had enough dogs and just felt the temptation to keep him was too great.  We agreed and soon Titan was ours to raise and get prepped for a new home and family.  Shortly afterwards his foster family noticed he was struggling to walk and his joints were inflamed. Titan was taken to several vets before receiving the diagnosis of  Hypertrophic osteodystrophy (HOD). He has been put on a regimen of medications, high calorie food and hydrotherapy and is now running, jumping and playing with other dogs. His favorite things to do are play with toys, run and nap in the sun. Titan is a large dog and will do best in a home with another large dog or two that he will be able to play with. He will continue to need medication intermittently for some time and to be followed by a veterinarian.  If you have large breed dog experience and are willing to take on this fellas special needs please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue. He is not house trained to hold longer than 4 hours.  He needs to eat separately at mealtimes and he needs to learn better how to play with his toys in a group setting if there are other dogs.  If he is the only dog then there is no special monitoring.  Titan rides like a champ in the car or truck and he is definitely crate trained with good dog/name recall.  He would be easier to watch in the yard if you had a real physical fence installed since he likes to wander off out of curiosity.   Please email Critter Cavalry at ccrnewengland@gmail.com if you are interested.  He is great with young children/boys that are rough and tumble and lots of noise. PLEASE NOTE:  Our dogs are transported from Tennessee to meeting places in the states where we have posted.  Further information about us is given on our Adopt-A-Pet site.  The adoption fees vary and will be provided as well as noted on the application you receive.  Contact us at 615-661-5333 or ccrnewengland@gmail.comSeptember 13, 2024, 10:50 am

she’s absolutely a big mush and has the most cutest webbed feet , which means she’ll make a good swimming partner for those summer hikes in dog friendly parks and lakes !  Demi does great on a leash and is confident about meeting new friends big and small she enjoys playing with smaller dogs   She’s does well with small children and doesn’t jump on them to say hello. She will kindly greet them with a sniff and a little kiss she is a hound mix and will be on the bigger side but that won’t stop her from being a gentle giant.  ##1991807##

Story
Dozer is a very sweet and confident boy, with a bit of a cuddly side. Dozer prefers lounging on the couch over long walks and is usually more interested in relaxing than playing. He might chase a ball a few times but often prefers retreating to a shady spot to relax with his toy. He's great with children, does well in the crate, and enjoys fruits and vegetables as treats. Dozer is dog-friendly and interacts nicely with senior dogs. While he can be a bit shy when strangers approach him on walks, he's super affectionate to anyone who enters the home. His only flaw is thinking he's a lap dog—lol—but he’d make a fantastic addition to any family looking for a loving and affectionate companion. Whether he's cuddling or sitting beside you as you watch TV, Dozer is ready to be a part of your life.   ##1991809##

Story
Meet Maggie, A Wonder Woman Wearing a Catwoman Mask 🐶 Once a volunteer accidently dropped her leash and let her run away. Within minutes, Maggie returned on her own and gave the volunteer a big hug. She even brought a stick as a peace offering. It is amazing to see Maggie still has complete faith in humanity despite of surviving from Mass Dog Slaughterhouse. Maggie will love you whether you live in a little trailer or a big house. No matter what kind of mood you are in, Maggie can always make you smile. Can you be a special someone to give Maggie a home?
