Story
Sawyer is a 5 year old neutered male. This BIG (200lb+) boy loves everyone and has never met a human stranger. We are helping his family find a new home as he has become increasingly agitated with the other dogs in his home. He will do best as an only pet. He has a lot of love to give! Story
Birthdate:  03/11/2024Breed: One of a kindWeight:   80 lbsPogo is the ultimate definition of fun and affection! At just one year old, she’s already an expert in spreading joy wherever she goes. With her boundless energy, she’s always ready for a play session with her favorite toys, whether it’s tennis balls, plushies, or tug ropes. Her name is extremely fitting as she will bounce up and down like a pogo stick when she's excited to make new freinds. But don’t let her playful nature fool you; Pogo is also incredibly loving and tender. When she’s not in full-on play mode, you’ll find her snuggled up, and she gives the most heartwarming hugs. She’s the kind of dog who loves to curl up next to you, resting her head on your lap or leaning in for a cuddle. Her affection knows no bounds—she’ll happily shower you with kisses and follow you around, wanting to be your constant companion.Pogo’s love for people and her friendly, approachable nature make her a great addition to any home. Whether you’re in the mood for playtime or just looking for a loyal, cuddly friend to relax with, Pogo is sure to brighten your day. Her sweet, loving personality makes her the perfect mix of fun and comfort. The Rescue is open 7 days a week for you to come and meet our pets! In order to interact with them, you’ll need a simple questionnaire filled out. You can fill this out at the Rescue or before you come in at: https://www.pawscrossedny.org/cat-adoption-questionnaire. If you have any questions, please email us at adoptions@pawscrossedny.org for more information. Please understand that we cannot hold pets for any reason. All adoptions are done on a first come, first adopt basis for pre-approved applicants. The Shelter software system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of our dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We encourage you to select your new companion by considering each dog's individual personality and pet qualities instead of relying on a breed label that is only a guess.April 12, 2025, 2:02 am

Story
Hello world! I’m Cassie, a 9-10 month old Great Dane mix in a 40 lb package! I am a true bundle of love! I’m super sweet and always ready to give kisses, and I’ve been told I’m good in the car. Whether we’re going for a ride or just hanging out at home, I’ll always be by your side, showering you with affection. Life hasn’t always been easy for me—I was abandoned in a house before being rescued. But I’m ready to put the past behind me and focus on all the good things ahead. I’m good with kids and have such a loving nature. The humans at the rescue say I may be deaf, but that doesn’t slow me down! I’m eager to learn new things. What I really need is a forever family who will see how special I am, despite the bumps in my journey. I would thrive in a home where I feel safe and loved. Could that home be yours? Thank you so much for your interest in adopting a dog from A New Chance Animal Rescue (https://anewchancear.org). We are a 501c3, tax deductible organization. ANCAR is a foster-based rescue, and we adopt within a 90 mile radius of Bedford Hills, NY. You will find the adoption application here: (https://anewchancear.org/adopt/adoption-application/). All fields on the application must be completed. Please read about the adoption process (https://www.anewchancear.org/adopt/our-adoption-process/) so you'll know what to expect when you submit. Our dogs are in foster care and we do NOT have a shelter or boarding facility. AN APPLICATION MUST BE COMPLETED IN FULL AND APPROVED BEFORE A DOG CAN BE MET. This is a firm policy. Our busy volunteers are not able to respond to questions about the dog or dog meeting requests in the absence of an application. We know these dogs very well because they are in foster care. Please read the profiles of the dog(s) you are interested in prior to submitting an application. If there are specific requirements stated (ie: Fenced Yard or Canine Friend Required) these are included because they are vital to the happiness, health, safety and adoption success of that dog. We are only able to save as many dogs as we have foster homes (https://www.anewchancear.org/foster/faqs/) and resources for. We provide medical care including vaccinations, testing, deworming, spaying/neutering and microchipping before transporting our dogs. We provide all supplies, preventatives and any follow up vet care necessary while they are in foster care. These costs are high and the number of lives we can save is entirely dependent upon donations from people like you. We do not receive funding from private foundations or government sources. If you can find room in your heart to help us, with any amount, we are truly grateful (https://www.anewchancear.org/help/donate/). We are a 501c3 organization, so all donations are tax-deductible. It is only through the kindness of supporters like you that we are 'changing lives...one tail at a time' by providing our dogs with 'A New Chance.' (https://anewchancear.org) Thanks so much.

Story
This is Dredd! He is a 17 months old and weighs 52 pounds. We think he’s a Great Dane/Ridgeback mix. That’s our best guess! We think he’s a Great Dane mix because we know his father who is a Great Dane mix. Dredd, despite his name (haha) is SUCH a sweet boy! A big ole goofy boy. The definition of “good boy”! He would be a perfect family dog! He loves all humans equally and is very affectionate and cuddly despite his size. He won’t say no to a hug :) He is wonderful with other dogs and cats. He has been cat tested. Dredd’s story is definitely a story of survival! He was the only surviving puppy from his mom’s litter. The family in Puerto Rico who had him decided to move and left him abandoned in the street. A wonderful woman who became his foster, rescued him and has cared for him in Puerto Rico until he was flown over to NY. He’s ready for a meet and greet. If you feel that DREDD is a good fit for you/your family, please complete an application from our site, miraclesforsatosrescue.org. Feel free to email us: MiraclesforSatosRescue@gmail.com ________________________________________ PLEASE NOTE: We strive for our dogs to be adopted into the right home. The best fit for the dog is our priority. Please make sure you are ready to properly exercise and give a dog all it needs for fulfillment. Your ongoing time and day-to-day commitment is the most important thing in caring for a dog. In addition we cannot guarantee breed of any dog or expected adult size of a puppy. Please note that even house trained dogs will need help transitioning to an adopters home and schedule. Thank you for understanding.

Story
Meet Maggie, A Wonder Woman Wearing a Catwoman Mask 🐶 Once a volunteer accidently dropped her leash and let her run away. Within minutes, Maggie returned on her own and gave the volunteer a big hug. She even brought a stick as a peace offering. It is amazing to see Maggie still has complete faith in humanity despite of surviving from Mass Dog Slaughterhouse. Maggie will love you whether you live in a little trailer or a big house. No matter what kind of mood you are in, Maggie can always make you smile. Can you be a special someone to give Maggie a home?
