MEET BELLA SWAN! Bella Swan is a gorgeous 3 yr old Dane mix. She has a gleaming black and white coat, big expressive eyes and an adorable soft face. Bella is doing great in her foster home. Her foster mom says about Bella: "... Bella has not a single aggressive bone in her body, doesn't resource guard, doesn't really bark, just needs exercise, love and stimulation. She wants to be held and cuddled and played with. She is literally a gigantic puppy." Bella seems fine with other dogs (had lived with another dog previously). She LOVES her walks. Fully house trained and good in the crate at night. Bella's ideal home would be one where she is loved and cared for of course! One committed to her well being. A home where she gets adequate, daily exercise. Bella is about three yrs old and weighs about 60 lbs. She is utd on all shots and is spayed. Hanlie was surrendered to the county kill shelter for unknown reasons. Our Humane society pulled him from that shelter and relocated him to ours for vetting and potential adoption. He is a sweet, playful boy. He’s your typical playful puppy that loves to run and play with his friends, but also loves his lovin’s! Hanlie has tested well with cats and dogs. He absolutely loves people as well. Hanlie is 9 months old and is approximately 60 lbs, heartworm tested negative, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. Tiny “Dancer” is a handsome young 10 month old, 103 pound Great Dane who has come from a situation that was not good for him.  He is underweight and needs a kinder owner who is filled with love and a desire to humanely train him.  Rescued from a neglectful home we have found this boy to be sweet and loving and adores children.   He is such a GOOFBALL and he loves to play with his other Great Dane who is like a sister to him.  They do not need to be adopted together but could be if someone was looking to do so.  This boy was hit by a car back in October while with his original owner.   A pin was put in but it was not removed as it should have been by the owner with a revisit to the vet.  It created an infection that he is over with now and the pin is removed but he will always have a limp from this lack of good care from his former owner.  It is healed but it did create a limp.  We like to tell all that we know and despite not being perfect, this boy promises to give his most perfect love and keep you laughing at the same time!  If you are interested please email us at ccrtennessee@gmail.   We have just neutered him and also did a lifesaving stomach tack to help him avoid stomach bloat that often occurs in the large breed dogs at a high percentage.  We are giving him health insurance to never die from this quick onset flip of the stomach that often comes out of nowhere.  Contact us if you are interested in Tiny Dancer! ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.June 9, 2023, 11:06 am

Super Sweet Sally is a 2 year old beautiful black, well mannered, loving Great Dane who would flourish in a home where she was the Queen of the couch!  In other words…. The only dog. She currently is being fostered with many different types and sizes of dogs and does great with all of them, but would appreciate a situation where all the attention is on her!!   Some dogs do well in a setting of being with other dogs outside the house and then when inside and living close quarters, they need to be the only dog.  This is Super Sweet Sally’s personality.  She likes other dogs but she doesn’t want to live with them.   She is a champ in a car, on a leash and awesome with kids and cats.   What we know about this 2 year old 110 pound girl is that introductions are important to her and first time meet and greets need to be positive and encouraging.  She always barks at strangers but can be told to stop and she will.    Sally needs lots of hugs and pats for reassurance.  She does love playtime with other dogs but she does NOT want them coming home with her.  She would be fine in a doggie daycare situation or a dog park.  She is big so stand aside when she runs around… sometimes she doesn’t look where she is going when involved in play and BOOM….down someone goes.     She is a snuggler but will stay on her bed if necessary. Meet Tank! This handsome little man is a 7 month old male Great Dane, Cane Corso mix. He is super friendly and loves just about everyone and everything he meets. He loves to snuggle and wants to be with you at all times. He never turns down a good belly rub. He loves to play and is full of puppy energy. He would make a great addition to a family with an active lifestyle! He is currently located down South at our sister shelters and available for pre-adoption. We do transports to NJ once a month. He can't wait to find his forever home!

Meet Rambo! This Dane is approximately 2 years old and weighs 120 pounds, he will continue to gain weight as he is still on the small side, but very tall He is as strong as he is beautiful and will need an experienced Adopter to help him continue his training. Rambo loves humans and dogs big and small but would be suited best in a home with older children and larger breed dogs. He still has a lot of puppy in him and just doesn't realize how big he is. He will also need a cat-free home. There is nothing he loves more in life than a big box of toys. He also loves to lean into people, but being a Dane, we expect nothing less! Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for transport. MOE was saved with his mother and 5 siblings as a few day old puppy from a horrific dog meat farm in South Korea, by our amazing friends, Save Korean Dogs. Moe will be coming to GaDaH is Sebec on 22nd October 2022. MOE is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative. He is on monthly preventatives. He has an estimated date of birth of around 15 January 2021 and at weighs around 75 pounds. We take a lot of pictures and videos and don't always have the time to post them on the dogs individual webpage and adoption site, so we ask that you go to the rescue  YouTube channel  and  photo albums on our Facebook page  to see a LOT of pictures and videos. When Moe first arrived at the rescue, he was very nervous as to be expected after all he has endured. He was skittish to any sudden noises, jumping up and darting to a different area, before coming back to check things out and hesitant to come inside after being outside in the fenced in area. After a week of being here, Moe has settled in great, he is still jumpy to sudden noises or movements, but he has relaxed so much more, his tail is up and constantly wagging, his body a lot more relaxed and has the past few days (30 October) been getting very playful. He has been dragging the blankets off the dog chairs, starting to chew on some of the dog beds, doing the play bow and having the zoomies when I am either outside or trying to get him to come inside, chewing on bones and toys and starting to accept treats and actually eating them - although this is still work in progress. Moe does cower a little if someone has their hand over his head, but is getting better here too, so it is advised and should be done with all dogs that when you want to stroke, or pet them, you go from under his /their chin, or side of the cheek which is a much better and comfortable approach for the dogs (as it would be for humans too). Moe is great with the other dogs and shows zero interest in the cats. He also rides good in the car. MOE needs a family who has the time and patience to understand he has been through a lot and the US is very different to where he came from, all the different, noises, smells and such, but of course as animals are amazing at doing, they do adapt quickly. We are looking for a family that has a fenced in yard as he is still somewhat skittish and want to ensure that he cannot run off, plus it is a safe environment for him to play and run around and have fun. We are looking for an active family as he is a big boy and needs to build up some muscle mass as he gains some weight as he is rather thin, and lead a happy healthy, (physically and mentally) life. Although Moe is only part Great Dane it is very important for his family to research common medical conditions for the breed and ensure that he is put on bone and joint supplements at the very least as he is a big boy. He should be fed a high quality food specifically for giant breeds to ensure he is getting the extra nutrients he will need throughout his life. This is what the amazing South Korean rescuers told us about him. MOE is one of six siblings who were rescued just a few days after birth in January 2021. One of his adopted siblings was DNA tested and revealed that they are 50% Great Dane! The other half is made up of smaller breeds so he is a very manageable 75lbs :)   Moe is a sweet dog, walks well and is people-friendly. He gets along just fine with other dogs. His adopted siblings are doing very well in their homes and have proven to be adept at both playing and napping. We think Moe will be just as successful.     MOE is available for adoption from Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine for an adoption fee of $550. This adoption fee covers the cost of running a brick and mortar rescue as well as any transport, veterinary, food, treats, toys costs and the many expenses that rescues endure to keep the pets in their care safe, and happy. The rescue buys food in bulk, by the truck load and there are a variety of brands and flavours. None of the food given is less than a 4* food rating. There have not been issues with eating any of the varying foods. It is important that you do your research on the ingredients and speak to your vet or a nutritionist on grain vs grain free! &#226&#128&#139You MUST understand that dogs need time to decompress and adapt to their new environment and home. It is a HUGE transition they make from the kill shelter, being vetted, on transport for 3 days and arriving in Maine where the temperature and such is very different to what they have only known. In rescue there is what is known as the "3 Point Rule" Days 1-3 your dog is stressed, anxious, confused as to where they are now. Weeks 1-3 your dog is adjusting, settling in, learning things. At the 3-month point, your dog understands they are home, and have built up a trusting relationship where they feel loved and secure. ALL Dogs are LOCATED AT THE RESCUE IN SEBEC, MAINE. We post in various states along the east coast and Canada where we have had lots of successful adoptions to enable more exposure for these beautiful saved souls. Families will need to be prepared to travel to the rescue to meet and take home their new best friend. Sebec is located just outside the towns of Dover-Foxcroft and Milo (approx. 8 miles) and approx. 45 miles from Bangor.
