Story
Name: Brody Gender: Male Age: 9 months Current Weight: 61 lbs Expected Adult Size: Large (50-100 lbs) Breed: Great Dane/Lab Energy Level: Medium Dog Friendly: Yes outside the home, but prefers to be only dog in their home. Cat Friendly: No Kid Friendly: yes, any age Apartment Friendly: Yes Physical Fence Requirement: Physical fence not required Crate Trained: Yes for short periods of time, but making progress in this area Potty Trained: Yes Ideal Home/Adopter: Brody thrives with someone who wants a dog that stays close and loves deeply. He does well with adopters who enjoy training and connection and who appreciate a calm, gentle companion. He fits best in a steady routine with no other pets at home. He enjoys going for walks and would love someone who appreciates a dog who rides well in the car and is always ready for an outing. Likes: Brody loves being close to his person and has definite Velcro-dog vibes. He is happiest on car rides and is wonderful on long walks. He enjoys playing fetch, spending time with kids and gentle people, and learning new tricks because he picks things up quickly. He thrives on routine and predictability and adores snuggles, naps, and soft places to sleep. He feels most comfortable in calm homes with steady energy. Dislikes: Brody prefers not to share his person at home and does best as the only pet. He struggles with inconsistent environments and doesn’t like being left alone for long periods, though he is improving! Sudden changes in routine are hard for him, and he isn’t a fan of crates, but he is getting better with patience and positive training. Brody has the makings of a once-in-a-lifetime companion: gentle, bright, affectionate, loyal, sensitive, and devoted. His temperament — calm leash walking, love of car rides, soft nature, and his comforting closeness — make him a wonderful fit for someone seeking an emotional support animal or a deeply bonded companion. After surviving hardship and inconsistency, Brody is ready to give all his love to the person or family who chooses him. If you’re looking for a dog who will be your heart dog, your shadow, and your steady comfort, Brody is your boy. Brody's adoption fee is $350. All fees include spay/neuter, microchip, vaccinations, worming, flea and heartworm current. All dogs over 6 months of age have been tested and are heartworm negative. If you are interested in Brody, apply at rescuedohio.org to become an approved adopter and a meet & greet can be set up once approved. ##2544310##

Story
This is Henry. He is 3 years old and my soul dog. Unfortunately his anxiety is too much to handle around my young child and it’s cruel to him to be subjected to our home. He’s a very good boy, he’s house trained, a little sassy but knows basic commands. He’s clumsy, a bed bug and love to play fetch. Henry is very loved and deserves the world. Everyone who meets him adores him. Henry has a very sensitive tummy, so he can only eat a certain brand and flavor of dog food, and no dog treats. He loves produce as his treats (carrots, bell peppers, asparagus, strawberries, blueberries and bananas) and isn’t very food motivated. I trained him with ‘good boy’ and pets! He’s a bit weary of men, not always but especially if they are wearing hats. He’s too mouthy when playing so he’s not great with kids.
